Leaving on a jet plane
Asher walked through the door of his home and was immediately attacked by two seven year old girls. Smiling he bent down and grabbed them both around there waists and much too there delight spun in a circle that had them squealing and nearly in tears from laughing so hard.
Setting them down he felt some of the shame and anger from his earlier exchange with Raya slip away, it was funny now fatherhood could do that to you.
Standing he followed Rosie into the kitchen while Jessica ran up stairs to get a picture to show him. HE smiled down at Rosie and gently touched her shoulder when she turned he signed ‘I love you’ to his youngest daughter.
Both Andrew and Asher had been saddened when Rosie had fallen through ice when she was four and lost her hearing. But his daughter was very brave and didn’t let it slow her down at all. It did make her competitive and with this almost unhealthy determination to prove she was like her cousins.
Sighing he looked up to see Andrew standing in the kitchen carefully slicing vegetables, Asher smiled at the sight, no missing the new bandages around his mates fingers. He knew even after all these years Andrew still hadn’t lost that…trait that was entirely Andrew, he was still talkative and he knew annoyed some people but Asher had always loved that about him.
Smiling when Andrew looked up and signed ‘Hello’ as well as telling it to Asher. Nodding Asher bent and swung Rosie into her chair smiling at the laughter that emitted. Turning when Jessica came in with a picture he gently took it and studied the drawing.
Frowning he looked down at the picture. “What’s this Jesse?” The drawing had both he, Andrew and Rosie in it and off to the side there was a drawing of a girl. She didn’t look anything like anyone he knew.
“I don’t know. I see her in my sleep.” Jesse said before taking the picture back and blushing lightly.
Deciding to let it go for now Asher walked overt to Andrew and leaned in and kissed him softly on the cheek, the pair ignored the fake choking sounds from there cubs.
“How was your day?” Asher asked softly taking the salad bowl and walking to the table.
“Oh…it was good. A little of this little of that. By the way have you seen Charlotte?” Andrew asked curiously.
“You mean that gross spider in the kitchen?” Asher asked frowning, immediately realizing his mistake.
“You…you killed Charlotte?” Andrews’s eyes widened comically.
‘Christ leave it to Andy to get bent outa shape over a bug’ Asher shrugged and winced when Andrew threw a spatula at him and turned and stomped out of the room.
Turning to his daughters he asked/signed “What’s wrong with papa?” The girls each shrugged and eyed the dinner they knew couldn’t be touched until there fathers were at the table.
Sighing he turned and went to find Andy.
Walking through the screen door he stopped and kept a safe distance waiting for his lover to tell him what was wrong. ‘REALLY hope it’s not really bout that spider’
“I’m pregnant.” Andrew whispered. Asher froze.
They had been so careful, that couldn’t happen again. Sighing he looked away, he’d be lying if he didn’t feel incredibly happy over that prospect but he knew how hard it was on Andy whenever he was pregnant.
Months of bed rest and a cesarean sometimes he didn’t understand why his species was so damned determined to thrive that even same sex couples could get pregnant. It was fine for Raya and Faith, they were women they had the equipment. But when males became pregnant they grew a temporary uterus which had to be removed at the birth and it was very rare for the pregnant male to survive pregnancy.
It was a lengthy painful process and Asher felt for his mate. Walking up to him he wrapped his arms around the sandy haired man. Leaning close he whispered ‘I love you. It will be oaky. I promise.”
Sighing when he felt Andrew nod Asher hoped he was telling the truth.

Buffy pushed Lonnie’s wheelchair through the large double doors. She let a breath release when she saw her mate didn’t immeadilty panic. She didn’t miss the tense stiffness that was set in her lovers shoulders when she saw the cars and huge crowds of people.
Looking over at Faith who held Jaeger and Dawn who carried Axel she smiled. They stopped waiting for Xander and Willow to join them after they got the number for a taxi service.
Turning when she heard the whoosh of the doors she spotted her friends walking out laughing and talking animatedly.
Smiling at the sight she knew she was very happy to have been able to see this again. Her friends laughing and joking, she idly remembered there days at Sunnydale High, god they had been so young so full of life.
Buffy smiled when she thought of Angel and Spike. She had carefully left a lot of details out about the vampires. Lonnie had a loose idea of what a vampire was having never met one before but Buffy knew Lonnie would go more ballistic over the fact that Angel tried to kill her than anything.
Helping Lonnie stand she led her to the curb where there taxi waited, followed closet by the rest of the group. She could almost taste the anxiety coming off the woman in waves when they got closer and closer to the car.
She looked back at Faith and Dawn, smiling when she saw Jaeger was no long affected by the sight of the cars and Axel was sleeping.
“It’s alright Lonnie.” Buffy whispered for Lonnie’s ears alone. She scowled a little when Lonnie nervously bit her lip and nodded.
“Come on.” Lonnie said in a braver tone than Buffy knew she was feeling. Buffy leaned over and opened the car door and helped Lonnie in and she climbed in beside her. Taking Axel and putting him into the car seat they had bought he woke and fought her.
Jaeger got into the other cab with Faith with Dawn and Willow while Xander climbed into the passenger seat in front of Buffy. When the cab driver pulled out the other cab followed and they drove to the airport.
Buffy grasped Lonnie’s hand and tried to smile reassuringly. She could see small beads of sweat dot the cavewoman’s forehead. ‘Christ if this is how she reacts with cars…what’s she going to do with planes?’ Buffy sighed and seriously was rethinking her firm stance on not drugging the woman.

~Three hours later~
Buffy sat beside Lonnie in the airport bar. She felt like a horrible wife but after the nightmare that was security she needed to get Lonnie to relax and she didn’t think her mate could relax enough for a quickie and honestly…after 9/11 even German airports had good surveillance and she didn’t want her and her mate to end up on YouTube.
Sighting she ordered Lonnie another cooler. She hadn’t been to surprise that after learning the woman had never even heard of liquor, that she got drunker faster than a nun on new years.
Smiling when Lonnie giggled and nearly toppled out of the booth at something she thought was hilarious, Buffy laughed softly when Lonnie abruptly stopped and pulled open another wine cooler.
Damn even she took more than a beer and three coolers to get drunk. Scooting over when Faith made her way over to them and sat down beside her.
“So B how’s our favorite alchie doing?” Faith asked, her eyes never leaving Lonnie’s blissful smile as she started singing another tribal song. Buffy winced, understanding the crudeness behind the words.
“Good…we almost ready to go?” Buffy asked. They had given Axel dramanine and Jaeger had thankfully seemed thrilled at the prospect of flying so she was fine.
“Yeah we got to get going. Planes boarding in twenty minutes. The gangs already down there…you need help?” Faith asked/
“I don’t know yet.” Buffy stood and tried to coax Lonnie out of the bench. “Yeah I think I might.”
They both gently pulled Lonnie up and draped her arms over there shoulders and walked her out of the bar and towards there gate.
Faith leaned over to Dawn “Betcha thirty bucks cave girl here knocks out a stewardess”
Dawn smiled and readily took the bet.
