Soul searching with Pain, Suffering, and Dawn
Spike sat bolt upright in bed “Buffy! No” He shouted. Tears already starting to fall.
“Spike are you ok?” Buffy asked placing her hand gently on his back.
“S’ok love, luv. Just a dream. Nightmare really. I’ll be fine, gonna go have a smoke.” Spike said getting up from Buffy’s bed.

Spike sat on the back steps, smoke casually circling around his head.
Maybe they’re right. Maybe this dream is telling me I am not good enough for Buffy. Maybe I was wrong o make that wish. Bloody hell I’m so in love with her! How can that be bad? Spike asked himself. He finished his smoke and lit up another one. Bloody buggering hell! I can’t think that way! Buffy loves me too. She stood up to her watcher and her friends, for me. She loves me too. And with that ring I could give her everything she deserves.
“She deserves a man with a soul. Can you be that man Spike?” Giles voice in his head asked.
“Bloody hell.” Spike said to himself crushing his smoke beneath his boot. Time to talk to the Slayer.

“Took you long enough” Buffy said as soon as he entered her room.
“Buffy, We have to talk pet.” Spike said solemnly
“What’s wrong Spike?” Buffy asked Please don’t tell me you are leaving me, I couldn’t take it. She pleaded silently.
“S’just I donno where to begin.”
“Well start at the beginning then.” Buffy snapped at Spike.
“Sorry, just sacred you’re …. You know gonna leave or something.”
“Buffy are you happy?”
“What? Of course I’m happy Spike. Why wouldn’t I be? I have you. That’s all I need.”
“But Buffy can we have a future together? I mean if we stay together…. We couldn’t have Bit’s of our own, I…. Vampire you know luv. Not able to have … My fishies don’t swim.”
“You think that matters to me Spike? Is that what your dream was about? Have you been talking to Giles? Did he put that idea into your head?” Buffy asked incredulously.
“No slayer I just want to be sure I’m making the right choices you know. I love you and if …”
“Spike don’t be an ass. I am in love with you. You are in love with me. That is what is important, not anything that anyone else says or does.”
“What about your mum Pet.? And Dawn, she’ll be arriving soon …don’t think your mum will be to happy with you shaggin an evil soulless killer.”
“Spike maybe you used to be evil, but since we met you’ve changed. I see that. I see you. Believe me, I like what I see. I already know Dawn likes you, she’s part of me she has to, and as for mom she doesn’t have to even know you are a vampire, with the Gem”-
“Buffy I told you I am not ready for that….” Spike interrupted
“But Spike….”
“No buts I am not gonna wear that sodding ring so just give it a rest will you?”
“I just don’t understand Spike we could have everything…..”
“I already have more than I deserve Buffy.”
“Spike please ….please tell me you’re not leaving me” Buffy was sobbing. Spike went to her and put his arms around her. “Shhh Pet I just … that dream I had made me realize just how much I do love you and no matter what I will always be here for you even if….well even if you decide you don’t want me around anymore.”
“I will always want you around. I love you.”

“Yes, as I said, You could win it. You just have to want it bad enough and be worthy.” Said the Fni’sh demon, glad to be of service to this demon who wanted to change. For love. For a Slayer Ha poetic justice, that. Thought the demon as Spike tossed some money down onto the table in front of him “Thanks mate, be seein you.” Said Spike as he turned to go. I could win my Soul; It’s what Buffy deserves after all, a man who can give himself to her body mind spirit and soul. I am just the demon to fill that job description.” Spike thought smiling to himself.

“What do you mean you’re leaving? I thought we went over this?” Buffy asked panic rising in her voice
“We did love and I am not leaving for good. Only there is something I gotta do. I wanna go now cause there is hardly any vamp activity since you killed the Annoying one. Buffy I will be back I swear, I love you and I’ve claimed you. I promise nothing will ever stand in the way of that. For as long as you want me I am yours, your willing slave to do your bidding anything you ask.”
“Please Spike I can’t …. You can’t go” Buffy said sobbing and pulling him into another bone crushing hug
“Love I promise, three weeks tops.”
“Are you sure?” Buffy asked.
“Positive.” Spike said smiling down at Buffy. She relaxed into his arms.
Spike leaned down to kiss her. All of her fear made her kiss him forcefully bruising his lips with her intensity. Licking moaning scratching, “Oh Fuck Slayer, just like that yeah there’s my girl, my goddess, my love my sunshine, my salvation, my redemption, without you I am nothing Buffy.” Spike said staring up into her eyes. Flipping her over onto her back he continued to pound into her. “Oh Spike I love you.”
“Love you so much Buffy please, come for me Baby” Spike murmured
Buffy felt her self rushing towards the edge and just before she plummeted, She repeated her claim on Spike. Biting his shoulder hard and drawing blood that she licked up “Mine Spike you are mine and don’t you ever fucking forget it.
Spike couldn’t control himself any longer, Fuck woman you rock my world, your scent your taste. Spike thought as he licked along her jugular, Sinking his fangs into her soft flesh he repeated the words Buffy had just said to him “Mine Buffy, you are mine and don’t you ever forget it.
They stayed in bed until the sun set. Buffy walked Spike to his motorcycle and gave him a chaste kiss. “I love you and I will miss you terribly” she said as tears welled up again.
“Don’t cry luv, I’ll be back before you know it.” Spike said starting up his motorcycle.
Buffy waved and stood there in the street until she could no longer hear his bike in the distance. She went into the house and cried herself to sleep.

Three. Weeks. Today. Buffy thought sadly as she got out of bed. Suddenly a wave of nausea and dizziness overwhelmed her and she ran for the bathroom, barley making it in time to throw up in the toilet.
“Honey are you ok?” Buffy heard Joyce’s voice on the other side of the door.
“I think I’m coming down with something” She yelled through the door. Or I’m missing Spike and am rally excited he’s coming home.
“Hurry up in there I need to have a shower before school.” Buffy heard Dawn shout while pounding on the door.
“I’ll just be a sec, gotta brush my teeth.” Buffy yelled getting up to do just that. After brushing her teeth and washing her face Buffy felt much better. “There you go Dawn bathroom’s all yours” Buffy said almost knocking her sister down. “Hey watch it.” Dawn yelled. “Sorry I wasn’t expecting you to be standing right there.” Buffy said.
After changing into school clothes Buffy went downstairs and found Joyce in the kitchen. “Hey mom what’s for breakfast?” Buffy asked cheerfully
“You’re in an awfully good mood for someone who was throwing up a few minutes ago.
“Yeah well what can I say? Spike is gonna be home tonight and suddenly I’m starving.” Buffy laughed.
“Honey, it’s so nice to see you happy with a boy, finally. You really like him don’t you?” Questioned Joyce
“Mom we are in love with each other. And yes I’ve never been happier in my life.” Buffy said happily giving Joyce a hug.

Another week later Spike still wasn’t home. Buffy was getting more and more worried by the minute. She was feeling nauseous and dizzy almost all of the time now, and today to top it off she was bloated so her favorite pants wouldn’t fit. “God damn it!!” She shouted trying unsuccessfully for the third time to do up her pants. Just my luck I’ll probably get my period just when Spike gets back. Hey wait a second Vampire remember? He’ll probably love it.

“Ok Miss Summers how long has it been since your last period?”
“Eight weeks” Buffy said quietly.
“I take it this was an unplanned pregnancy?”
“No this is a blowing my fucking mind pregnancy. Total wiggins. My Um..boyfriend, the only guy I’ve ever slept with is sterile. This wasn’t supposed to happen.” Buffy said tears welling up again.
“Does the father know you are here? That you might have gotten this answer today?” The doctor asked.
“No, he’s out of town and I haven’t been able to reach him.”
“Ok well you do have a couple of options….”
“No I don’t”

Buffy was trying unsuccessfully to sleep. Thoughts kept rolling around in her head. Spike’s gone! He’s dusty! He’s been gone for 2 months now. He just wanted to get away. Stupid vampire probably knew. That’s why he left, I’ll bet he just didn’t want to face this crap with me. I have to talk to Giles, and find out how this happened.
Buffy was startled out of her thoughts. Someone was tapping quietly on her window. “SPIKE” Buffy shouted running to the window and throwing it open. “Evnin luv, mind if I step in. We need to talk.”
“Where the hell have you been? I have been waiting for two months! Two months Spike! You would not believe what I have been through I”-
She was cut of by Spikes lips pressing down on hers. Suddenly nothing else mattered. Oh Spike baby I missed you….Baby …. Yeah need to talk about that, wait till later.
“Buffy I am so sorry. Didn’t mean for it to take this long Pet. Couldn’t be helped though. Had to do it.”
“Do what Spike?” Buffy asked with dread filling her heart.
