When time and space collide
~Six Years Ago: Buffy~
After nearly a week, traveling through the mountains Buffy decided that she had been thrown into another dimension. This was the only thing that seemed to make any sense. She had seen demons moving freely throughout the lands at night. And every time she saw one she had the urge to go and slay, but she knew better than to do that.
She had been there three days when she realized that once you were paired off; if you disobeyed the both of you were beaten. She had made that discovery when she had ripped apart the wooden collar and tried to run while they were tied down for the night.
Both she and Lonza had been beaten. And the woman who had given her small bits of food before that had abruptly stopped. It wasn’t like Buffy didn’t feel bad. Her back had healed up after two days while Lonza still couldn’t lay down on her back comfortable.
So after that she stopped making attempts to escape. It wasn’t just that Lonza would suffer as well, but she had no idea what was in those woods…but from the sounds at night there was plenty of ‘something’s’ out there. And she may be the oldest slayer in existence and have survived apocalypses…but it didn’t mean she was eager to go head to head with ‘mystery meat’ out there in the woods.
So she stayed. She couldn’t stand it though. If she talked to loud, she got smacked, if she looked her capture in the eyes, she got smacked, if she walked to slow or to fast…well you get the idea. And if wasn’t like she could fight back because one she couldn’t take them all out when they were on horseback and there were that many arrows or spears that could be shot at her at any given time. She was a slayer….not superman.
Sighing she stopped walking when she saw her capture put his hand up. Waiting for him to get off the horse and lead them to his tent where he had sent his ‘personal’ slaves to set up before they had come to a full stop. ‘They’ve been here before’ Buffy thought…that was the only reason she could think of for sending slaves out ahead of you.
Trying not to focus on Lonzas back wounds she followed her around the back of the tent. Sitting down with her they waited for one of the other horsemen to come and bolt the length that connect them into the ground before tying a length of hollow wooden beads and shells to there leg. ‘Bells’ Buffy thought. Carefully not moving her legs. The slightest noise brought the guardsman to attention.
‘God I just want to go home.’ Buffy lay down and thought about Dawn, and Giles. She thought about all of them nightly before falling asleep. She knew Willow would move heaven and earth to find her…she just prayed her friend would hurry up.

~Present Day: Faith~
Faith bent and picked up her screaming daughter, “Oh come on honey, it isn’t that bad…BOYS YOU GET DOWN HERE NOW” Faith gently bounced her daughter Brigitte, waiting for her twin sons Garret and Chaye to get down here.
Apparently they thought it was perfectly okay to cut there little sisters hair. Her previously beautiful black curls looked more like someone had taken well…scissors to it.
Watching her sons come down the stairs, she prayed for there sakes that Raya came back from slaying soon.
Ignoring there to innocent faces she stared them down until…Garret looked away. ‘Ha, we got the confessor tonight.”
“Well…who did this?”
Garret and Chaye both looked at each other before quickly pointing to the other. Sighing she put Brigitte down and watched as her girl happily crawled back to her toys.
“Who. Did. That. To. Her. Hair?” Faith made herself look as big as she could, watching in mild humor when the twin’s eyes widened. Garret hesitantly raised his hand.
“I cut her hair mommy.” Chaye looked a little to triumphant to Faith.
“Fine…you’re both grounded. Two weeks. AND you are going to tell your mother, tonight. Is that understood?” They nodded before going back up the stairs and into there rooms.

Raya stood over her bed quietly. Watching Faith sleep was by far one of the best things about her day. Hearing her snore softly always brought a smile to her face.
She was a mother, a wife and she knew in her heart…that she was born a prince of Egypt…but was meant to be here. She had four sons, two daughters, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren…smiled she thought ‘Jerry Springer eat your heart out’
Undressing she walked around the end of the bed, picking up her discarded clothes and put them into the laundry basket, climbing in she gently kissed her sleeping wife awake.
“MmRaya?” Faith opened sleep laden eyes. She was only a little annoyed, Raya had made it habit to wake her up no matter what time she got in. Snuggling closer she smiled when she felt Raya gently stroke her back. “How was slaying?”
“Good…we got a Nargaki demon tonight. The same kind you and Buffy were chasing that night when she went missing” Raya felt Faith stiffen and sit up and look at her.
“Do you think it means anything?” Raya shrugged.
“We don’t know, we got him tranked and in one of the holding rooms, he said he knows what happened to Buffy” Faith was out of the bed before Raya finished talking, pulling on clothes she turned and looked at her wolf with a ‘Are you coming’ look before walking out of the room.
“This is going to be another long night.” Easing out of bed she pulled on a pair of pajama pants and a small hoodie before following her wife out into the living room. She would have to talk her into coming back to bed. It was after five AM and the demon was going to be knocked out for at least another three hours.

~Six Years Ago: Buffy~
Lonza looked down at the small woman, they had been on the move a lot the last couple days and she hadn’t really had a chance to study the woman. She was dressed oddly, spoke in a strange tongue and seemed to have no idea whatsoever about some of the simplest things that no matter your people you knew how to do. Like start a fire, or how to move in the woods without making noise. She looked closely at her leggings; they were made out of rough blue leather…only it wasn’t like any leather she had ever seen.
What was most curious were here foot wrappings. She had never seen foot wrappings with no stitches in them…or holes for that matter. She wondered if maybe the woman had no feet. No she had seen her take them off last night to study a blister.
She was no demon, and she wasn’t of the spirits or she would not bleed. Ever since the small woman had tried to escape the other night Lonza had been thinking up a plan. She had seen how easily Boofay had snapped the locks. They would run…together and when they were back over the mountains, away from the horsemen and wild beasts in the mountains after that they would go there separate ways.
It would take many nights travel, and they could not stick to the normal paths because the horsemen may come after them so it would take quite possibly until the snows hit to reach the mountain. After that it would be by spirits blessing if they made it back in time for winter camp.
Looking away when Boofay rolled and opened her eyes, she did not look at the strange woman until she heard her saying Lonzas name.
Boofay gestured around with a question in her eyes. She wanted to know when they would leave again. Smiling Lonza drew a small picture in the dirt.
Buffy looked down at the small picture, see where Lonza drew the sun she knew, they were leaving in less than a day. Sitting up she looked around and froze.
There in the distance were enormous moving animals. There fur was long and shaggy, there tusks were long and curved…. ‘No way’ Buffy craned her neck to get a better view. ‘Were those really mammoths?” Feeling suddenly cold and hot at the same time she realized…she wasn’t in another dimension…she was in a different time.
Looking back at Lonza she realized these were primitive people…these were fucking prehistoric people.
“Oh fuck me”
Lonza looked over to where the blonde was staring with such distress. Mamuks grazed in the distance. Turning back she realized the woman had gone several shades paler.
Lonza didn’t want her to pass out so she shook her shoulder.
“Mamuk” Lonza said this slowly and clearly.
“Oh shit”
