Buffy huffed as she tapped her foot and pouted,why was Giles being so giddy about Sam? What was so special about her that required this much attention? "Giles for all we know she's a demon and she's leading us straight into a trap."

Giles cleared his throat taking off his glasses to clean something noone else could see. "Do you believe that Buffy?"

"You obviously don't care what I think. Faith being here proves that." she whispered the last part."

"Oh please." Kennedy rolled her eyes at her,her arms crossed across her chest. "Buffy you can't save the entire world by your self and you know that. Besides the only person here with a problem here is you from what I've seen."

"What's that Kennedy?" she snapped at her. She never did like Kennedy to begin with,she was a little rebel and she just reminded her so much of Faith sometimes.

"Well lets see. Ever since Faith got here she's been nothing but polite and quiet and she's stood there taking all of your shit.
That girl,Sammy? You don't even know her and you're going off on her just because you know what she says is true. We all know you don't like her just because she defended Faith a little while ago." Kennedy explained matter of factly.

Out of the corner of her eye Buffy saw Faith and Sammy stop by the stairs along with Dawn to listen. Damn! They were all just out to get to her. "Well excuse me if I don't condone murder Kennedy." There was a hitch as the tension in the room spread so thick you could spread it over a cracker. Well,at least she had their attention now. "And I also don't like the fact that the person who tried to kill Angel,Willow and raped Xander and helped a great evil and killed two innocent men is staying here under the same roof as all of the aforementioned. As for Sam she has no right to come in here and tell me what to do or how to act. She doesn't know anything about anything and especially not about what we've been through. I have my reasons for not liking or trusting Faith," she snapped her head towards the her looking her straight in the eye, "and I don't have to explain them to anybody in this room."

Willow stepped foward feeling that there might just be a few blows. She grabbed Kennedy's hands in her own and stood somewhat in
between and next to her. "Baby there's no need to fight because if we fight...uh well we-we are just fighting and with all th-the fighting going on well we really shouldn't fight ourselves because there's a whole lot of demons anbd bad guys out there so we really shouldn't-"

"Uh Willow?" Anya "You're rambling."

"Oh!" she smiled sheepishly, "Sorry I do that when I get nervous...obviously."

"I think Willow is correct. We should try to solve the problem with the first before we start hacking away at each other."

A few of the potentials in the room nodded, agrreing with Giles. Xander agreed as well followed by Willow,Kennedy,Faith,Dawn,and even Spike. "Good. Buffy?"

Buffy threw a hard stare at Faith who bowed her head and moved away towards the door. She sighed heavily but nodded as well."Okay
I guess. I have to go see Wood anyways. Listen when I get back I expect to see you girls training and not just slacking off."

The girls nodded some muttering under their breath but still respecting their fellow slayer.

Hopefully noone had followed her. She just wanted to be alone to think. No matter how hard she tried,no matter what she did to try and redeem herself she would never be able to outrun what she had done in the past. It seemed that every second of every minute of every hour tortured her mind. What had she been expecting? It's not like she had saved the world from impending doom when she rescued Angel from Angelus,why had she been so naive to think that just maybe Buffy would see that she had changed and that just maybe she might be able to forgive and forget? Maybe it had been a major mistake coming back here...maybe she just should have stayed back in prison locked away like the animal she was.

(FPOV)

"You know,beating yourself up about it isn't going to make anything better."

I took in a drag from my ciggerate feeling a little on edge,I hadn't even seen Sammy come out onto the balcony. "Hey."

"Hey,mind if I take a puff?" Sammy asked leaning her back against the rail and smiling sadly at me. I gave her the ciggerate
and watched her take a hearty huff. "Thanks." she said passing it back to me.

"Yeah...how did you know that I was thinking about that?"

"Heh. Call me a physc or I just know how to read people real well...Faith you're not who you used to be,you've become someone that everyone wishes the had close by. You're a great girl,your being her proves that. You didn't have to come back here ever again all you had to do was help Angel then you could have left and started out with a nearly clean slate...but you didn't...you
came back and that was the hardeat part. Buffy can't see that because she doesn't want to see the real you. She's so busy being mad at you for the past that it's bluring her vision of reality."

"But she's right you know? I did do all those things to her and her friends. I don't deserve their forgiveness and especially not
Buffy's."


"Faith,"

Her hand index finger rested under my chin for a little before she cupped my face with her soft hand and brought me up to eyelevel. Her eyes were so intense that I wanted to cry,so much emotion just reeling behind those grey eyes but especially
understanding,hope,and...something else that I couldn't quite place. At that second I felt helpless to do anything but to look at
her angel like serenity and peacefulness...maybe she was a god. I reached out and gripped her wrist, keeping it against my cheek
a little longer before I realized what I was doing and I pulled back a little shaking my head to clear out the fuzziness.

"you need to stop allowing her to tear you down. You're a great person and anyone can see that."

I tried to say something to her but the only thing that came out was a snort kind of sound that made her face fall in sadness. I
wanted to hold her hand again and thank her but I would never allow anyone to see my mask of off my face. I steeled my feelings and stood up as well, brushing off my jeans with my bandana. "I'm up for some slaying...wanna come?" I ask her.

"Sure." she grins at me suggestively "Let me grab my jacket."



"They what?! Why didn't you tell me sooner?!" Buffy screeched at Vi,one of the potentials.

"I..I thought you knew I'm sorry." Vi shuddered backing into the corner as everyone else watched in shocked silence.

"When did they leave?" Buffy demamded grabbing a few stakes and and her black leather jacket,she knew exactly where the two girls would be at right about now and she was ganna give them a piece of her mind,she was ganna teach them not to disobey her
orders.

"Three three hours ago." Vi stuttered watching Buffy storm out of the house. A few seconds later Kennedy and Willow also grabbed
their stuff and headed towards the door. "Where are you going?" she squeaked.

"I don't think you should have told Buffy about Sam and Faith." Kennedy said gravely.

"Left!"

"Gotch!" Faith hollered swinging out her legs and knock a vamp into a tree. He was stunned by the hit and he didn't even know what hit him until he was dust in the wind so to speak.

"Nice." Sammy appluaded her while simualtaneously staking two more vampires and breaking the neck of a third who was just barely
coming around after getting smashed by Faith. Sammy dusted off her hands on her pants,striding over to a tombstone and sitting on it as Faith finished off the last vamp.

Faith tossed Sammy a crooked half smile half grin and took a seat next to her. "You know," she started taking out a ciggerate for
not being a slayer you sure know how to kick some serious ass."

"Well asides being the immortal I've been a black belt in tai kwan do,tai chi,jitsu,and karate for about five years. I also play saxaphone and I'm in a rock band. Although with everything that's been happening I hardly have time for any of that."

"Wow. What else?"

Sammy smirked a flirtatious little thing, "I also had alot of girlfriends in high school,but I never really payed attention to
either the dudes or the chicks. I was always trying to find a new way to make people laugh or smile so yeah."

It was Faith's turn to grin, "yeah? So you bat for both teams?"

Sammy blushed a deep rosey color, 'Not-not exactly." she rubbed the back of her head shyly.

Faith chuckled watching the girl's reaction and finding it rather amusing. This time she didn't say anything though,she just sat
there quietly enjoying the feeling of actually having a friend amid all that had happened.

Faith listened quietly and intranced as Sammy's melodic voice soothed her in ways she didn't think were possible simply by listening to a song. She could feel the sorrow and the love behind those words that struck so close to home.

"Faith?"

Faith jumped out of her trance being brought back to earth by the sound of Buffy's angry voice cutting through her like a warm
knife through butter.

Buffy stared wide eyed at the two girls as the unconsciously moved away from each other, "This is just great! It's not bad enough
that you're here but now you want to go and screw with the immortal Faith. Singing little songs to each other in the moonlight
after a batlle? How romantic but guess what? No time for that so why don't you get your head out of her as-"

Faith gasped in surprise and total shock as Sammy landed a skull numbing blow to Buffy's jaw.It seemed like forever before she
finally tumbled back,rubbing her sore chin. Sammy glared at her before launching at her with her fist. Faith was too awed to do
anything but watch as Buffy's face flew from side to side with each hit. She was about to grab a hold of Buffy but suddenly Sammy
flew around thirty feet into the air and landed in a crumpled heap by a tree.

"What the hell?" Faith asked looking around to see Willow making a slamming motion with her hands. Kennedy beside her was next to
her laughing. "Willow stop!" Faith shouted trying to get her attention.

"She's attacking Buffy!"

"No she's not Willow just stop and I'll explain!"

Willow gave her a look before her almost black eyes began turning light brown again and dropping her fists to her side but kept a
wary eye on Sammy who was stuggling to get up. "What's going on Faith?"

"She and little Ms.Immortal over here were all over each other. There's no time for get some get gone! We should be at home with
the potentials not taking moonlite walks in the cementary." Buffy shouted getting to her feet and glaring at Kennedy who was trying her best to keep a straight face.

"Don't you fucking lie!" Sammy rushed to her but came into a complete stop when she hit some kind of forcefield around Buffy.
Willow looked at her menacingly,shaking her head. "Willow that isn't true. Faith and I just finished dusting like nine vampires
we sat down to take a breather and I was singing,there's no fucking crime in that. Buffy's just trying to make things more strained and difficult than they already are."

Willow raised an eyeborw at her,her mouth slightly dropping open, "Sorry Sam but I saw you wailing on Buffy not the other way
around."

"Ugh! Whatever! You go ahead and stick up for her I don't care. But you know that what I'm saying is true. Whatever we have way
bigger issues to solve right now and I'm not ganna get into it with you Buffy as much as I'd like to kick you ass." Sammy walked
over to Faith giving her a gentle smile before turning towards Revllo road, "coming?"

Faith glanced back and forth between Buffy and Sammy. "Yeah," she replied starting off with Sam and Kennedy.

"You know my girl's ganna be really pissed off at you tonight." Kennedy commented.

"Yeah well she can bite me. If Buffy thinks she can show up and start insulting Faith like that whenever she feels like it boy
does she have another thing coming at her. The world's about to end and she's over here being stubborn and a hardass. I know
Faith did a few things that are past horrible but that's in the past,there's no use dwelling on it and Faith already paid for it
in the worst way possible."

Kennedy shrugged kicking a pebble with the tip of her boot, "I just thought that was totally hilarious and the look on Buffy's
face was priceless." She opened the door for them standing on the porch to wait for Willow.

"Heh," Sammy grunted with an evil little glint in her eyes, "Wasn't it?"

Kennedy giggled watching her and Faith head for the stairs.
