Demon Mentality
Chapter 3
“I might have the answer to that.”
When Xander looked towards the door he groaned, there went his plan to hide from the blond until everything was back to normal.
“You whelp are in trouble, if I‘d known you planned on stayin the whole bloody day I wouldn’t of let you up, missed plenty of fun, we did, with you hiddin out ‘ere. No matter I’m sure you’ll make it up ta me.”
“Don’t even think about making Xander do anything, or you’ll will be meeting Mr. Pointy up close and personal,” threatened Buffy.
“Oi, keep your wood to yourself, slayer. Wouldn’t force the boy to do anything he didn’t secretly want, even if I could. I never was one for rape, that was Angelus kink, not mine.” Said as he sat down on the couch.
“Why you little piece of-,” Buffy started
“Enough!” Giles shouted, “You said you knew what went wrong, why don’t you tell us or get out of my house.”
“Simple, Red said she did the mojo to make Xander not food, well it worked, only she didn’t think about demon mentality. To the demon there is only a few things a human could be: food, enemy, family, or mate. Well Red took out food and enemy, leaving only family or mate. Xander isn’t family since he isn’t mated to anyone in the Angelus line, which meant there was only one option, mate.” Spike explained as he watched Xander pace, waiting for the right moment to pull him into his lap.
“So we break the spell, and everything goes back to normal?” Xander stopped to ask giving Spike the opportunity he was waiting for, trapping the brunette on his lap.
“Hmm I need to do some more research before we attempt any more spells. If we are not careful we could make things worse.” Explained a pained looking Ex-Watcher.
“Worse how?” asked Buffy.
“We might make it permanent if it isn’t already.”
“Evil mummy chicks, Praying mantis ladies, hyena possessions, and now this. I must have blown up a whole damn country full of orphans and puppies in a past life, and this is just another kick in the ass from karma or something,” complained Xander as he tried to escape from the lap of the evil undead.
“Don’t know pet, but I know what I want to do with your ass and it aint kickin’ it.” Leered Spike tightening his hold on his mate.
“Did I mention I’m making cookies!? Lots and lots of cookies, so me and Tara will just go now and make those.” Willow blurted out as she dragged her girlfriend out the door.
“Yes why don’t you all leave, it is getting late and we can’t get any further tonight then we already have, plus I have ignored Olivia enough as it is today, and you Buffy have to patrol tonight.”
“But Spike and Xander…” Buffy said pointing to the pair.
“Spike can’t harm Xander any more than he could before. Besides which, he will give his life to protect him now that he seems him as his mate so Xander will be fine. Now Good Night.”
“Um…ok. Sorry Xander, I’ll see you tomorrow and if the bleached menace has done anything just tell me and I’ll stake him for you, Kay?” Buffy said before she too left.
“That goes for you too as well, Goodnight.”
“But…but…” started Xander.
“Right, goodnight and all that rot, let’s go pet, we got things to do while the nights still young,” the blond said as he ushered his mate out the door.
“They finally gone?” came a female voice behind Giles.
“Yes they are.”
“Good, why don’t you come to bed and make up for ignoring me today.” Olivia said with a mischievous grin.
“Oh yes, that sounds like a good plan.” agreed Giles, all thoughts of research gone from his head.
A.N. Another chapter done. Well I hope you guys liked it, and it is even up earlier then planned. I was going to update tomorrow er later today,(Its midnight) with this chapter but I felt like writing when I got home from school tonight so you got it early a little early. Thursday is my only day off of school and work so I will try to have another chapter up later. Either today or Friday.
