Spike’s Passions, part 3
beta: carinas_carinae
Spike was pacing. He hadn’t been able to stop really since he’d gotten up this afternoon. What the hell had Xander found in the shower? It was making him crazy. What if dream Spike was in there with someone else? What if he left dream Spike?
Now he was standing here pacing in the cemetery and Buffy was watching him curiously. She tilted her head to the side. “You okay?”
“Fine. Are we done here? I’ve got something I need to do.”
“Go ahead. You’re head isn’t here anyway.”
Spike scowled at her and hurried back to his crypt. He repeated his ritual of the past two nights, starting the tv and vcr before climbing into bed. When the music started, he closed his eyes and willed himself to sleep.

Previously on Spike’s Passions:
Xander walked into the house and called out for Spike. It had been a long day and he really wanted to see his boyfriend. He called out for Spike but there wasn’t an answer. With a sigh, Xander headed for the bedroom.
He smiled when he heard the shower running and quickly stripped off his clothes. He knew just the way to make his day get better.
Xander opened the shower door and his mouth dropped open in shock. “Oh, God.”

Xander flipped off the water and dropped to his knees beside Spike. His love was lying on the bottom of the shower, empty bottle of whisky at his side. “Spike? Spike! Wake up, honey. Come on, Xander’s here now. You’ve got to wake up. Spike!”
Spike didn’t respond. Xander felt for a pulse on his neck and breathed out a sigh of relief. “Spike, come on baby. You need to wake up.” Xander didn’t know what to do. He wanted to call 911 but he knew that Spike would freak out.
But he couldn’t just leave him lying there on the bottom of the shower. Xander pulled his phone from his pocket. He’d sworn to Spike that he wouldn’t ever call this number again, but he didn’t know what else to do.
Holding the phone to his ear, Xander leaned over Spike and pressed a quick kiss to his forehead. When the voice on the other end answered, he let out a sigh of relief. “Miguel? It’s Xan. I need you.”

Theresa stood at the back of Crane’s Restaurant and watched as Gwen socialized with a group of VIP’s. It wasn’t fair. Gwen was a twit who didn’t deserve Ethan’s love. It was clear to anyone who watched that she was only with him for his power, his money, and his status in Harmony.
Theresa loved him, really loved him. She couldn’t have cared less that he was the son of Julian Crane, the grandson of Alistar Crane. None of that mattered to her. She would be happy if they just had their own restaurant and quietly lived a regular middle class life.
Not that it was ever going to happen. Ethan Crane never even noticed that Theresa existed. He only had eyes for the blonde beauty that Theresa was currently shooting death glares at.
She needed to do something, anything, to make Ethan realize that Gwen was wrong for him. Theresa thought of Xander. Ethan’s best friend was always nice to her. Maybe he would help. But, she really couldn’t go to him. There was too much history there and it would be awkward.
Besides, if she wanted Ethan’s love, she should have to fight for it. Love wasn’t supposed to be easy. It was supposed to be a challenge with a happily ever after ending. Even Cinderella had to live through years of cooking and cleaning for her evil stepmother and stepsisters before she got the handsome prince.
It was all about being in the right place at the right time. Theresa moved to Gwen’s table and refilled the drink glasses. Glancing down at the table, she spied the invitations lying there. A ball? Perfect. Cinderella had her ball and so would Theresa.

Noah moved from the back room of Crane’s where he’d been working on the books. He knew the Crane’s had fancy accountants but they still needed someone at the lower levels to keep everything straight.
He didn’t want to think of what strings his father had pulled to get him this job. Noah only hoped that his dad wasn’t going to owe any favors to the Crane’s because of him. This job was exactly what he needed, though, and his dad had known it.
Noah scanned the restaurant, and noticed Theresa watching Gwen. That wasn’t good. Theresa was hatching some sort of scheme. And Theresa’s schemes never ended well. Noah realized that he’d better intervene and nip this one in the bud.
He crossed the room to Theresa and gently guided her into the back room. “Hey stranger.”
“Noah! When did you get back in town?”
“A couple of days ago. Dad got me a job here doing some accounting work. I took a break and saw you so I thought I’d say hi.”
“Well, Hi!” Theresa threw herself into Noah’s arms and he scooped her up in a big hug. She was like another little sister to him. He and Miguel had been best friends for years until Noah started moving with the wrong crowd.
Noah hoped to reestablish their friendship now that he was back. He was pretty sure Miguel would forgive him. He just had to work up the courage to approach him.

Miguel hurried to the door of Spike’s home and it was thrown open before he could ring the bell. “Xan? What’s wrong? I got here as fast as I could.”
Miguel placed one hand on Xander’s face, looking him over carefully. He didn’t appear to be hurt. Xander looked up at him, his brown eyes filling with tears. “It’s not me. It’s Spike.”
“Damn it, Xan. Not again. You said he had stopped.”
“He told me he would. I don’t know what happened. Please, Miguel. You have to help.”
Miguel sighed and entered the house. Spike didn’t deserve him.

Tabitha and Timmy stood admiring their work. Young Willow had received a very thorough spanking for her disobedience. Timmy was staring gleefully at her reddened bottom.
“That’s enough, Timmy. I think our Willow has had enough for today. But Willow? Don’t think your punishment is over, my dear. You have a lot of making up to do.”
Willow looked up at Tabitha, her eyes glazed with passion. “Yes, Madam.”
“Very good. Now Timmy, come on. Let’s go see what mischief we can stir up today. I think a certain writer needs to be reminded to leave what’s mine alone.”

Sam Bennett saw the car barrel past him on the road into Harmony. Clocking it at well over the speed limit, he flipped on his lights and spun his squad car around. When the car pulled over, Sam parked his car behind it and stepped out of the car.
The window was down when he approached the vehicle and two men were inside. He glanced quickly at their faces before turning his attention to the driver. “License and registration, please.”
The older gentleman behind the wheel handed over his information. Sam looked it over carefully before speaking. “Mr. Giles, are you aware of how fast you were going?”
“Yes, officer. I apologize. I’m afraid that in our excitement to reach Harmony, I may have driven a little faster than was advisable.”
Sam raised his eyes at the distinctive British accent. “Well, Mr. Giles, the speed limits are posted for a reason. May I ask what you’re coming into town for?”
“Certainly. My associate and I have some business in town with Mr. Crane. We’ll be staying for a while.”
“I’ll let you off with a warning this time. Slow down, Mr. Giles. Harmony isn’t a fast paced place.”
“Thank you for your leniency. I’m sure we’ll be seeing you around.”
Sam stepped back from the car and watched it drive away. There was something off about those two. He made note of the license plate and would run it when he got back to the office.
**********************************************************************
Giles rolled his eyes as they pulled away from the cop. “Hick town. Tell me again why I decided to come here?”
Angel looked at Giles with a smile that didn’t reach his eyes. “Because we have a life to destroy.”

Spike jerked awake with a start. Damn it. Not again. And now Angel was part of the picture? His damn Sire was sure to cause havoc for dream Spike. He reached for his whiskey bottle before remembering Xander finding dream Spike passed out in the shower. He sat it back down with a sigh. Dream Spike had better get his shit together and find out what the hell was going on. These damn cliffhangers were going to kill him.
