Road to LA
Chapter 3
A few hours later, minus a trophy and well on our way to LA. Buffy managed to get her own way as we threw the thing back into the creator. I took a lot of effort to go and get that. The fact that I was bored and would have gone anyway due to boredom is beside the point.
So yeah I’ve been sulking. You would too. I managed to snag the back seat. So at least I can stretch my legs a little bit. However I have nothing to read. Well not read, looking at pictures is more my style. I can read. I just choose not to.
So were on our way to Angel’s which is nice him being my rock while I was inside. It’s going to be nice to see him. Before you think we’re going to give Cordy a heart attack, Buffy phoned ahead on Dawn’s cell.
Anyway back to the point. I’m bored. There are no climbing facilities here. So I leave my not so comfy seat and make my way back to the front. Giles is driving. No wonder it’s taking so long. “Hay G-man we nearly there?”
“Not yet.” He says taking off his glasses putting the arm between his teeth and rubbing his tiered eyes. “Good few miles left yet Faith.”
“Hay Giles.” The use of his actual name gets his attention. “Do you what me to take over. Go and get yourself some sleep?”
“That’s very nice of you Faith.” Don’t be fooled he may seem polite but as he says this he’s swerving into the shoulder and applies the breaks. “All yours.” He doesn’t waste any time looking for a seat.
Well that was hard. Least we can put some miles behind us now. I take the driving seat and buckle up. Better safe than sorry. So I calmly put the bus in gear and put the pedal to the metal.
Some people on the bus fall out of there seats from the acceleration which this vehicle should not be able to get to. The way I see it the faster we get to Angel’s the faster I can have a nice warm bed to sleep in. Also the faster I’m inside the less likely I’m going to be picked up by the police. This is why I am actually keeping to the speed limit. But only just.
So this is how the bus of healing slayers travels for the next half an hour. I cannot tell you how pleased I was when I saw the ‘Welcome to Los Angeles’ Sign at the side of the highway.
I final pull up beside the hotel after taking a series of wrong turns. I’m telling you it’s a lot harder to find your way around when you’re not on foot. However I get there and find myself having to wake most of the occupants on the bus. They all manage to get into the foyer without either falling asleep, passing out or dropping dead.
The resident vampire is the first to greet us and begins to acknowledge us one by one with a hug. When he’s finished he asks. “So what happens next?”
