Consequences of 'What if' 'Night 3'

Night 3

‘Darkness always lurks in the deepest shadows of the virtuous mind and without an outlet to sedate it once in a while pressure builds to boiling point awaiting the slightest crack to allow it to bust forth!’

Xander woke early. He could still feel Willows nakedness pressed against him and it warmed him inside.

Looking toward the window he could see it was only early evening but the light was fading playing games with the shadows in the bedroom.

He leaned in to kiss Willow on the forehead and she purred softly. Then he carefully manoeuvred himself out from under her, trying hard not to disturb her sleep.

His muscles felt stronger today and taut. He smiled. It seemed that he could lay off the work outs the time being.

On impulse he almost moved to look out of the window, but that wouldn’t be wise unless he was looking for an instant suntan he thought! Must be more careful, he reminded himself.

Looking back he saw Willow had snuggled into his now vacant pillow.

What a night he thought!

He still felt the reminiscent pang of bloodlust lurking from the night before. He was going to have to learn to control that going forwards. How did Angel do it he caught himself wondering, Oh ‘Pigs blood’ that’s right. Not the most appetising of thoughts but it may help with his moral issues.

Suddenly a ring came from the door. He started it was unexpected! Who could that be he thought grabbing his dressing gown and throwing it over his shoulders!

He opened the door still half tying the belt knot awkwardly and was confronted by Buffy.

“Buffy!” He gasped half stepping back. ‘What was she doing here?’ he thought.

“Xander!” she precipitated.

“Err.. What brings you here?” He asked awkwardly trying to bar the way but stay out or the rescinding light.

“Well I was wondering where you have been. Last I saw of you was when I caught up with you whilst looking for Willow two nights back. Where have you been?” She tried to shuffle past him but he moved to block her.

“Oh I haven’t been feeling well so thought I would stay and let my stomach settle!” He quickly thought.

Buffy stepped back not wanting to press against the unwelcome statement! “You’re right you look kinda pale! You seen a doctor?” She bemused.

“Err…No, just thought I would sleep it off!” He dismissed.

“Might be better to get a check up, it’s not like you to be so frumpy.” She frowned. “Anyway have you seen Willow of late?”

“No .. Why?” He stuttered.

“What’s up with you why so jumpy?” Buffy snapped.

“Err..Flu, remember!”

“I thought you said it was your stomach?”

“Oh right yes but I have a bit of flu too!”

“Ok, well listen we are all meeting at the library to go look for her, I know your not well but you know her better than anyone and we could really use your help if you can come. I also have something to discuss but it’s better to do it when you are dressed and able!” She remarked looking him up and down.

“Do you think you will be up for it?”

“Yeah, just need to take a hot shower and dose up on caffeine and I am yours!” Xander nodded.

Buffy swung around to leave then turned back. “You know you really should get something to eat too, keep your strength up!” She smiled assuringly.

“Yes, so I have been told!” He rolled his eyes thinking ‘Not the type you would recommend though.’

A cold sweat ran down his back as he shut the door. ‘Phew’ that was awkward he thought.

As he moved back into the apartment he saw Willow leaning against the door only a sheet covering her nakedness. “Who was that?” She shivered slightly and Xander stepped forwards to hug her.

“Just Buffy, you know great big slayer type, coming to check on a couple of Vampires, a tad difficult!” He stammered.

“The Slayer!” Willow spat. “I hate that bitch!”

Xander hugged her tighter. “Hey I know you had a falling out but she used to be a good friend. Of course that was until she became our mortal enemy and such like!” He bemused.

“Hmm…You should go!” Willow stated suddenly.

“What?”

“You should meet them at the library, figure out what they want and all, they will only fret otherwise!" She explained.

“But what if they see through what I have become?” He said nervously.

“Oh you’ll be fine lover!” She leaned up and kissed him, biting a little on his bottom lip. “Just don’t touch any crosses and stay an arms length from any sharp pointy things.”

“What are you going to do whilst I am gone then?” He puzzled.

“Well I was kinda thinking I might go and play with myself!” She said brashly dropping the sheet that covered her and smiled a secret knowing smile. “I will be fine, you go, a spell with the goofy squad will cheer you up hopefully!”

Xander stroked his hands down her back and clenched her buttock. She twisted and pulled away. “Not now lover, you go and play and I will be here when you get back!”

He nodded and moved to take a shower.

It was bloody awkward shaving with no mirror. He hoped that once he got rid of this stubble he may be lucky enough that it didn’t grow back. I mean his hair should be dead too right’

He soon felt better and quickly dressed in denim jeans and a black t-shirt. ‘A bit bad boy’ he thought.

“So how do I look?” He turned looking for approval from a naked Willow who had been lying on the bed watching him.

“Just peachy. Now go play with your friends and if you feel like bringing one of them back for late night snacks feel free!” She teased.

He stepped towards her and leaned in for a kiss but she stopped him before he reached her with a finger across his lips. “Later!” she whispered softly.

Xander pulled back bruised a little then turned and left sharply.

The sun had settled now so it was comfortable for him to walk along the street. The library was not far. ‘What could they possibly have to tell him’ he thought. And could he keep his biggest secret from them he wondered.

…………………………………………………………………………………………..

Willow waited until she was sure he would be out of sight and she sprung up, throwing her leathers back on. She smelt the top, an aroma of soaked blood still lingered, she loved that smell. ‘Who needs perfume?’ She thought.

In a moment she was out the door and on her way.

She needed to stop briefly at Willows house as she needed to pick up some clothes for her and where better to look. As she approached the house though looking for an entrance the front door swung open and her mum stood there with a concerned look across her face. Willow stopped, not knowing whether to continue or to turn and run.

“Willow, good heavens child wherever have you been?” He mum called stepping out and towards her daughter.

Willow stepped a few more steps forward, ‘Why not!’ she thought. “Out and about, mum you know hanging with Xander and the other guys!” She tried an assuring smile.

As she closed her mum looked her up and down. “Whatever are you wearing, girl!” She frowned in disbelief.

Willow looked down. ‘Hmm. She hadn’t thought of that.’ “Oh these are just some togs that I picked up for clubbing!” She tested.

Her mum shook her head and closed in to hug her. “Those friends of yours are just a bad influence on you. I am not having any daughter of mine dressing up in biker leathers, its just not appropriate for a young girl!” She stepped back and looked Willow up and down. Willow shifted uncomfortably. You smell bad too. Lets get you in and I will pour you a warm bath.” She insisted.

“Err ... I haven’t time really …erm….OK!” Willow started to protest as she was being led away but she still found it difficult to argue with her mum after all this time.

A short while later she was soaking in a warm bath that her mum had poured. She hated to admit it but she felt kind of cosy being looked after again by her mum. She settled back and toyed with the foam that floated across the surface.

It must have been over a moth since she had bathed. There just wasn’t the place in her world to take time out for such things and she almost forgot how good it felt.

Her mum popped her head around the door and threw a fresh towel and a towelling robe down on the side. “You know you look deathly pale, you really want to get more sleep as it’s catching up with you.” She remarked and left Willow to finish.

Willow towelled herself dry. The softness of the towel stirred memories of childhood and as she pulled on her robe she caught herself feeling a bit gushy.

In her room she looked through the closet and dug out a few dresses and other clothes and threw them in a bag out the window. ‘Later’ she thought.

She slipped on her slippers and crept downstairs. Her mum was leaning over the sink scrubbing something. As she neared she noticed it was her leathers. “What…What are you doing!” she gasped making a dash forwards and snatching the wet leather outfit out of the water. Half blood soaked water splashed on the cream tiles and Willows eyes danced between the mess and her mum. ‘Oh crap!’ she thought.

“What the hell is with you?” Her mum snapped “Look at the mess you have got all the red dye all over the floor now. It’s never going to come out!” She dropped to the floor with paper towel trying to mop it up. Willow moved back out the way but she just trailed more water across the floor.

“Err…red dye?” She puzzled. “Oh yeah .. right sorry mum!”

“Those leathers stunk something rotten, I don’t know where you got them but they really should have been cleaned of stain first!” Her mum nagged. “You know, I cannot believe the mess you have caused. I sit here all day worrying about you as you disappeared in the middle of the night and that Buffy friend of yours shows saying she hasn’t caught sight of you all day in school! I wonder why I bother sometimes you know.” She went on while scrubbing the floor. Willow tried to move past her to wring her outfit out but her mum was in the way. “I blame that Xander you know!”

“Xander!” She cried. “How’s it his fault?”

“You know messing with your head, first dating you, then that Cordelia and then making a play for you again! It is just mental cruelty if you ask me. No wonder you’re looking for an escape with all these late nights and trashy clothes. People will start to think you’re nothing more than a slut!”

Willow’s face contorted and she bared her teeth to strike. But something stopped her. Anyone else would have had their head ripped off moments ago, but this was not anybody. It was her mum and she just couldn’t. She turned and ran up the stairs dripping water behind her. Upstairs she slammed the door and tried in vain to pull on her soaked leathers on. She could hear the thumping of her mum coming up stairs and she flicked the latch of her door locked.

“Willow!” A shaky voice sounded.

“Go away!” Willow growled!

“I am sorry dear, I hate to nag, its just I worry so about you.” Her mum tried to explain softly. “I love you.” She sobbed as she moved away down the hall to her room.

“Go away mum. Leave me be!” Willow whispered.

The leathers were not shifting so she bagged them and went to the wardrobe. ‘Time to play dress up’ she thought.

She flicked through the remaining dresses. She settled on a pink frock, not much going on here she thought as ripped off the sleeves, too girly she thought. Hmm shorter too she tore at the skirt leaving it slightly ragged. It will have to do.

Black tights, pink ankle socks and flat black plimsolls completed the outfit.

She heard her mum approaching again. She paused listening for a moment then continued downstairs.

Willow opened her window and dropped down. She recovered the bag and dug out a black jacket to wear that she had reserved earlier as she did she noticed an old woman watching her from the window next door. She smiled at her sweetly and feigned a sore ankle. Slowly she hopped towards her house and winced with a false pain.

As predicted the woman rushed to her door and came to Willows aid.

“Are you OK dear?” She called.

Willow hopped towards her. “I am now!” She smiled cruelly and in an instant her teeth bit down on the poor woman’s neck.

She drank briefly, the old woman’s blood was dry on the pallet and she killed her more to appease her frustration than to feed on. Content she left the lifeless body on her doorstep, recovered her bag, then swinging it merrily was on her way.

……………………………………………………………………………………………

Xander felt a lump in his throat as he entered the school making his way to the library.

The shadows seemed to hug him more closely than usual and he took comfort in them. ‘Play it cool’ he thought ‘No clever lines and first chance and he’s out of there.’

He pushed the door open and could see Giles walking around, book in hand lecturing an attentive Buffy. Faith was sat cross legged on the stairs playing with a stake.

They looked up as he entered and Buffy rose to greet him. “I am sorry Xander.” She was almost crying as she gave him a hug.

Xander didn’t know where to put his hands, but as she leaned against him he could feel her heart beating against his chest. The smell of her was different now and he felt an urge to taste her. ‘No…he stopped himself, this was hardly the time!’ He brushed her aside, catching her a little off guard and called to Giles. “So what’s happening?”

Giles closed the book and removed his glasses playing with them awkwardly. Faith continued to avoid eye contact and he could hear Buffy following behind him.”

“Xander, take a seat” Giles suggested and he complied. “There’s no easy way to say this but we believe a vampire has got to Willow!”

“What? How?” Xander tried to act surprised.

“In truth. We just don’t know! It appears however that Oz spotted her in the ‘Bronze’ the other night where she killed at least one that he saw and from reports the next day may have been responsible for 8 more deaths.” Giles pulled a cloth from his pocket, rubbed his glasses then put them away in the case. “Whatever happened, we have to find her and quickly.”

“Nooo, not Willow!” Xander tucked his head in his arms in feigned distress. Buffy moved in and patted him on the shoulders “Where is Oz now?” He asked.

“Out looking for her, as he has been for the last two days in lupine form probably.” Came a second English accent and a flushed looking Wesley stepped into the room followed by Cordelia.

Corderlia quickly moved in and half barged Buffy out of the way. “Sorry Xander, I know she was….Special.” She comforted.

“So what’s the plan?” Wesley remarked banging a fist against the table and looking at Giles.

“Well first we need to find her.” Giles replied “See if what Oz tells us is true and see if she can be rationalised with.”

“You’re kidding right!” Faith stood up “I know you feel all gushy because it’s Willow and all but come on she is a Vampire now plain and simple and if we find her we stake her, right?” She spun the steak around in her hand and made a stabbing motion.

Xander was on his feet at once. “You heartless bitch!” He cried. Faith stood a little agape she wasn’t used to Xander being so assertive. “What gives you the right to condemn her Vampire or not!”

“I hate to admit it Xander but if Willow is a vampire and she is killing people we need to stop her!” Giles agreed. “It’s not easy for any of us, but if it was any of us it would be no different. We all know the risks in this game.”

“What we do know is that a vampire named Alfonse and a number of others were after her, a couple of nights back.” Wesley filled in the gaps. “Buffy fortunately met up with Willow on her way back to the library and managed to fight them off but Alfonse escaped. It could have been him or another bunch of vampires as they seemed to have an agenda!”

“Then why were we not looking out for her!” Xander turned to Buffy and scolded. “That’s your job isn’t it?”

Buffy slumped helpless on a chair tears welling in her eyes. “I Know!” She mumbled. “I stopped the first lot and took her home; she should have been safe there. I just don’t know what happened; I didn’t leave her until the early morning so she should have been OK.

“Liar!” Xander snapped and everyone looked towards him. ‘Oops’ he thought and sat back down. “I mean, don’t lie, you failed her and now she’s lost!”

“Yes. I know” Buffy acknowledged.

“Well anyway we need to get back out these.” Wesley ordered. “I suggest myself and Faith, Giles and Buffy go on patrol and you and Cordelia stay here in case she returns.”

Xander shook his head. “I am not sitting here whilst you butchers go marching around with pitchforks and torches. I am going to look for her too.” He declared.

Giles nodded. Well OK if you insist I will stay and you go with Buffy.

“No, I’ve got him covered” Cordelia stepped forwards.

Buffy turned to Giles. “It’s OK I am fine honest!” she half smiled picked up a few steaks and ran off.

Faith stood up and followed, Wesley turned to follow but was stopped in his tracks.

“Don’t even think of slowing me down!” She announced and ran off also.

“Well ok then, team Xander and Cordy.” Xander mocked. “Lets go get her!”

Cordy picked up a crossbow and Xander a baseball bat and the left Giles and Wesley staring at each other a bit perplexed!

…………………………………………………………………………………………..

Willow entered the graveyard all awash with eerie shadows that would have scared off anyone with a more nervous disposition. To her though it was like a home from home.

Behind her she suddenly became aware she had company and as she turned two vampires come into view.

“Willow Rosenberg?” The taller one called

Willow dropped the bag she was carrying and smiled to herself in anticipation. “Oh I'm sorry but my mommy tells me not to talk to strangers.”

“Then we won't talk!” The Vampire replied as he nudged past his partner to attack. Willow rolled her eyes, ‘So predictable.’ She jumped and side kicked him, sending him stumbling back.

He quickly recovered and lunged at her again, but grabbing his shoulder she used his momentum to flip him to the ground. Her foot braced against his neck and twisted, he lost consciousness.

The other tried to take advantage of the distraction but Willow was on top of it and with a wave of her hand he flew backwards into a gravestone. Quickly she was on him again and lashed out a sharp kick to his head finishing it.

Willow looked down at the two vampires laying in slumber. “Pitiful!” She said.

She turned and was about to leave when the large one half stood back up. Going somewhere? He said and made a grab for her. Willow grabbed his hand and twisted it flipping him around on his belly. She back flipped still holding the arm and heard a crack of its elbow snapping as she went. The Vampire let out a scream in pain and she quickly grabbed his other hand and pulled it behind his back her knee pinning him to the ground by the shoulder.

She took his hand and jerks it back hard, snapping his wrist. Another scream and his body jerked in pain. “Please, stop!” He begged.

Willow smiled satisfied. “I am sorry; you caught me in a cranky mood.”

“There must have been some mistake.” The vampire panted. “We were sent after a

Human.”

“Really. Who do you work for?” Willow replied intrigued.

The vampire pulled slightly trying to get free “I'm not telling you a thing.” He said hoarsely.

Willow smiled sadistically and took one of his fingers and bent it back sharply, breaking it. Again he screamed a shriek to wake the dead! “I said who do you work for?”

“Wilkins. The Mayor.” The Vampire gasped.

With a light groan Willow took another finger and broke it, too. The responding scream appeased her greatly. And she grabbed his hair pulling it up to hers and whispered in his ear “I say again. ‘Who’ do you work for?” She pouted and batted her eyes suggestively.

“You!” The vampire realised and surrendered.

She dropped his arm and lets him stagger to his feet. He nursed his broken limbs then went to retrieve his dazed comrade. The other vampire got up rubbing his head.

“Now what do we call you?” Willow asked circling her new recruits.

“Alfonse!” introduced the larger vampire and this is “Doyle!”

“Well, are you alone in this town or do you have friends or are there others like you lurking in the shadows?” She poised.

“There were more but the slayer got to us a couple of days back on our first attempt at bringing you in, we two are all that’s left of that party.” He watched her carefully. “You were human enough then so we thought we would try again.”

“Hmm, well two failures is not a good record. You had better serve me better!” Willow snarled, her face contorting then returning to normal.

Alfonse nodded obediently to his new boss.

“Right then. Let’s be off!” She announced gaily, recovered the bag and carried on towards the crypt that held her captive.

…………………………………………………………………………………….....

“I am not saying we were right or wrong for me I am just saying that we had our moments!” Cordelia commented as she walked alongside Xander in the park.

She had not shut up since they had left and it was taking every ounce of will power to stop him from tearing her head off! They were now strolling through a deserted park their interest waning in looking for anything.

“Hmm!” he muttered.

“You are not adding much to this Xander! You know if you had just said a little more or tried a little harder perhaps we would still be an item……..” She continued

Her heart beat gently, and her breathing was shallow. Inside Xander could feel emotions stirring, both positive and negative. He tried to focus on the task at hand, leading Cordelia as far away from his place and Willow as he could! Every step though he could feel his hunger growing and there were little sources of food.

Willow would not be able to help this night he felt, but his conscience would not allow it. Strange he thought that a vampire was not supposed to have a soul so why did he feel so guilty? It was crazy.

“Well Xander. What do you think?” Cordelia snapped.

“Err… about what?” Xander stammered. He had not been listening. His jaw dropped slightly and his head was pounding again with his vision blurring to red as he could feel the hunger bubbling inside.

“Oh your just a waste of time. This is all just a waste of time. Why am I trying so hard…..I just….!” Cordelia stopped staring at Xander. “Xander, why are you looking at me like that?”

Xanders jaw was agape and he was slouched forwards all letch like. “What? Oh!” He said straightening up awkwardly his vision clearing slightly but still he felt the ringing!

“This is a mistake! I should just go!” She declared and turned to leave.

“No!” Xander called after her and caught her arm solidly.

“Oh!” Cordelia stopped surprised, then sighed. “What?”

Xander pulled her close and she didn’t protest.

He slipped a hand around her waist and held her tight against him she put her other hand around his neck and lifted her heels to lean in for a kiss. Xander reciprocated and pressed his lips hard against hers.

‘He could feel her and shadows crept in to blur his mind’

Her body quivered as he lifted her up slightly kissing and lightly tonguing his way down her chin and to her chest.

‘He could hear her heart pounding and his head beat with every pulse’

Codelia raised her legs up and tucked them around his waist and ground her pelvis lightly against him. He slowly lowered her to the grassy floor and stroked her down her side and clasped her thighs tighter to his body.

‘He could smell her, excitement, anticipation and more than that her blood. His chest beat where no heart resided! It was all in his mind’

He ripped her shirt and licked up her body, she writhed in pleasure!

‘He could taste her and felt a darkness closing over him, he wanted more’

He made his way to her neck and she exposed it to him!

‘Take her, voices screamed in silence, he had to ….he just had to!’

His teeth extended and he bit into her.

“What the?….Oh no, not you too!” Codelia felt him at once and tried to fight but he had her held tight.

‘Darkness washed over him, he could ignore it no longer. ‘Devour her’ the voices tempted!’

Blood flowed, the taste was exhilarating. He could feel her fighting but he ignored it. He needed her more! No he needed her blood more!

“Xander…please!” Cordelia cried.

‘The darkness parted for an instant as he heard his name at its edge. No it fought his waking mind, finish her!’

He drank some more and Cordelia sobbed. “Please ….please!”

‘The dark shadows cleared again as emotion fought against it in his mind as he heard her plea again. This was wrong he told himself. Fight it…Fight it!’

He pulled away and looked down at the bloody mess he had made of her neckline. She was still breathing but slipping away and tears were still flowing. He tried to cover the wound with her blouse but it did little good.

He stood and shivered looking down at her. “I’m …. I’m sorry!” He stuttered. Then he turned and ran as fast as his legs could carry him!

………………………………………………………………………………………….

“Stay here and let no one enter!” ‘Evil Willow’ commanded her vampire underlings.

She pushed open the crypt and disappeared within.

All was dark and quiet within. It still seemed strange as this multiple chamber crypt had been a hive of trade and human thrall storage in her world. Of course with a bit more work perhaps it could be the same here again.

As she approached the cell that held the captive Willow she was assured to hear a soft heart beat and shallow breathing. ‘She was still alive.’ She was relived.

The door creaked open and Willow looked up immediately, obviously straining to make her out.

‘Evil Willow’ gestured with her hand and whispered an incantation and two torches sprung into life on the walls.

“Now then.” She started “How was your night?”

Willow just looked up at her, her eyes still puffy with tears. She tried to speak but her throat was dry and hoarse from shouting for help.

“Aww baby, I am sorry I had to leave you, but I had work. You understand don’t you?” ‘Evil Willow’ frowned. “Now let’s have a look at you.” She crouched down and looked her captive up and down.

Her hair was a bit raggedy and her face looked flushed and dusty. ‘Evil Willow’ stroked her cheeks using her thumbs to wipe away the tears. Willow pulled away a bit but she pressed on gliding her hands over her shoulders and down her arms to her hands. They were very cold and stiff. Perhaps the ropes were a fraction too tight? Oh well maybe she would loosen them later.

She let her hands slip down to Willows knees and pushed her legs apart. Willow tensed trying to keep them together but ‘Evil Willow’ applied pressure and they parted. Then she noticed she was very damp here and the base of the chair was also.

“Now who’s a bad puppy making a mess of yourself like that. Could you not wait for me to help you go properly.” ‘Evil Willow’ pouted. “Now there’s only one thing for a mess like that, we are going to have to get you changed and mop that mess up.

Without any delay ‘Evil Willow grabbed at the seam to the pyjama bottoms and ripped them down the seam tugging at them until they gave out. Instead of stopping there she then unbuttoned the top and pulled it off also tearing the sleeves until Willow sat completely naked and exposed. She forced her legs together again but ‘Evil Willow’ was having none of it.

“We need to get you cleaned up you know.” She huffed. She felt a sense of exhilaration at her command over this fragile version of herself. It was like releasing all her frustrations about her former self in a physical manifestation.

She took the remnants of the pyjamas and mopped up the urine, drying Willows legs but lingering at intervals to smile at her play toy! She continued to use the damp urine soaked cloth to wash Willows legs slowly up and down then continued to rub her stomach breasts and arms in the stale liquid.

“Just trying to get you used to the smell, as you are dating Dog-boy you will obviously need to adjust.” She teased and moved to wipe Willows face in it also. Willow pulled away again but ‘Evil Willow’ grabbed her head and pulled her face and mouth into the damp cloth. “There you go lap it up, that’s what we smell like when we have been bad, and you are a very bad puppy aren’t you?”

She waited for a response but when it wasn’t forthcoming she demanded. “Tell me you’re sorry for being a bad puppy!” A little more pressing this time and shaking the rag under her nose again.

“So ..rry..!” Willow croaked.

“Better!” Evil Willow gleamed.

She stood up. “What do you think of my dress? Oh I had to borrow the components as Mummy made a mess of my nice outfit!”

Willows head snapped up. “Wh..What…have .. you .. done ..to her!” she managed.

“Don’t fret little girl. Mummy is safe. Although if you keep being bad I may just have to ….click!” She made the motion of slitting her throat with a finger. “I will behave as long as you do. Do you understand?” Willow nodded tears welling up again. “Good! We understand each other then.”

‘Evil Willow’ stroked her captive’s hair raking it with her sharp nails. Willow felt herself leaning into the strokes as any positive touch was better than the emptiness of this place.

“Now if I loosen your bonds you are not going to do anything silly are you?” ‘Evil Willow’ asked and Willow shook her head. “Good girl!”

‘Evil Willow’ tugged at the knots and loosened the ropes enough to let Willow pull her arms out of them. She shook off the remnants of her torn pyjamas and tried to stand.

“Now remember what I said. Any trouble and…click.” She made the gesture again. Willow nodded but staggered around to the opposite side of the chair to put a barrier in-between her and her captor.

‘Evil willow’ fumbled in the bag and brought out a purple dress. “That’ll do, shall we play dress me up?” She giggled.

Willow did not see the funny side of it! “Did …you bring … me anything … to drink?” she stuttered, still dry.

“Do you know with me not eating and only drinking blood it completely slipped my mind! Are you thirsty then?” ‘Evil Willow’ challenged. “I suppose I could try to help. What do you prefer water or cream?”

“Water …will…be Ok!” Willow replied.

“OK, water it is” ‘Evil Willow’ smiled sadistically and stepped outside. “No don’t you go anywhere!” she threatened.

As soon as the door was shut Willow made a dash for the dress and pulled it on she also looked in the bag, all that was present were outfits. No underwear or shoes, what kind of girl dressed like that. There was a small lipstick and eye liner and that was it. She looked down at the dress, it was one she had worn for a cousin’s birthday over a year ago and was now a little tight and clingy. With nothing underneath it showed off everything. Maybe that was the point she pondered wondering about her evil duplicates sexual inclinations. ‘Am I gay?’ She pondered to herself. ‘No I like men too much; she must have come out all twisted like everything else!’

She shuffled over and had a look out of the small grating on the door. She was in a room of a main courtyard which was quite large she noticed thanks to the light source but no sign of her evil twin. There was no sense in running for now though as she would surely be caught.

She looked around her cell. What was of use here? Nothing really! Dust, debris and mould, no hope here!

She went back to the bag to find something else to wear but as she leaned over the door creaked open and she heard a feline purr. “Mmmm, that’s much better!” ‘Evil Willow!” teased.

Willow turned and quickly backed off to the far wall but ‘Evil Willow’ pursued her carrying the broken remnants of an urn kind which she gathered was filled with liquid by the way she handled it.

Willow clasped her hands in front of her and buckled her shoulders trying to hide the almost nakedness of the revealing dress. ‘Evil Willow’ came right up to her and grabbed her around the waist. “Now don’t be shy baby, after all we have nothing to hide from each other that we haven’t already seen?”

“Yeuw…Cough!” Willow gasped turning her head away as ‘Evil Willow’ pulled her close to her body.

“Aww, I’m sorry did you want a drink?” Evil Willow took a sip of the liquid and offered it to Willow. It smelt foul.

“What is it?” She croaked.

“A drink baby as you requested!” Evil Willow tipped the urn towards Willows mouth and releasing her waist she grabbed her nape and pulled her head forwards as she tried to pull away, forcing her mouth open. The liquid tasted warm and salty on her pallet but she pushed it out as there was no way she was drinking the disgusting fluid. She could feel the icy touch as it spilt all down her dress.

‘Evil Willow’ threw the urn across the room smashing it and pulled her head closer for a kiss. Willow twisted and pulled trying to escape, but she could not break the iron grip. A tongue lapped at he and she clenched her teeth to bar its entry.

Finally ‘Evil Willow’ repented and let her go. Willow flopped to the ground knees apart sobbing. She looked down her dress all splashed with a light reddish stain.

“Well now you have tasted my blood!” ‘Evil Willow’ grinned. “You gonna let me taste yours?” Her face contorted into the monstrous visage of a vampire and she gleamed bearing her elongated canines.”

A vampire! Willow had suspected, but the confirmation was still a shock. She spat out the remnants of the liquid she had been forced to drink and turned to face her captor. “What did I ever do to you to make you hate me so much?”

“Hate you baby? No I practically adore you!” She crouched and crawled to Willow, nuzzling her head into her lap. “See, I am just a big bad puddy cat looking for some cream, don’t you want to play with me?”

“Err no! I just want to go home.” Willow shuffled out from under her and moved deeper into the cell. “You know, I could just creep out of here, you go back to wherever you’re from and I don’t have to tell anyone about this. OK? Just our little secret.”

‘Evil Willow’ stood back up and smiled sarcastically “Yes our own little dirty secret, just like dog boy eh? Willow you get more like me all the time.” She scoffed.

“Oz is not a dirty secret; he’s the one I love!” Willow defended starting to sob again.

“Baby you obviously don’t know you as well as I do, if you think any man is going to satisfy you the way I can!” She snapped back. “Besides cats are more fun than dogs, don’t you know anything?” Think about that a while. She turned and walked towards the door.

“Where are you going?” Willow cried.

“Why you want me to stay a while longer!” ‘Evil Willow’ stopped.

“Err No….Yes….I don’t know, I just don’t want to be left alone again.” Willow muttered.

“Hmmm….OK!” ‘Evil Willow’ moved back into the cell and sat on the chair. “Come join me then!”

Willow didn’t move.

“Last chance and I am off and this time I might not return!” She demanded.

Willow went to move but her knee knocked against a piece of rock and she grabbed it. She pulled herself to her feet. “Err OK!” she staggered slowly forwards.

“That’s better.” ‘Evil Willow’ tilted her head just enough to see Willow approaching then turned back tilting her head back. “Come sit on my…..”

*THUD* She didn’t finish as Willow brought the weight of the rock down onto her captors temple.

Not stopping to see the effect Willow ran slamming the cell door behind her. She frantically climbed the steps which she hoped led to daylight and her freedom.

“BITCH!” Came a scream from below and Willow quickened her pace.

She reached the top stair and pushed on the crypt door falling out into the grassy verge of the crypt entrance right between the feet of Alfonse and Doyle.

She looked up and dazed started to cry to them for help.

“You won’t find any help there!” ‘Evil Willow’ smiled satisfactory. “Well it’s nice to see you have a bit of fight in you. I was starting to worry about myself in this reality!” She leaned over and grabbed her. “Come on; let’s get you back where I can keep you safe.”

“BUFFY! HELP!” Willow screamed wildly.

‘Evil Willow’ slapped her hard across the face. “Bad puppy!” She scolded and dragged her inside roughly by her hair.

The crypt door closed behind them.

……………………………………………………………………………………..........

Xander reached his apartment and dashed inside “Willow!” He called going from room to room. She was not here. Where then?

She said she would wait. Why would she leave without a note?

There was no sign of a struggle which flashed across his mind. ‘Perhaps she just got hungry….but that would mean….’

Part of him worried about what that would mean but in his subconscious lurked an ever growing darker side that feared missing out more!

He turned and was gone as quickly as he entered.

‘The bronze’ was the obvious place but he discovered that was still cordoned off to forensic tape.

Next he stopped by the ‘The Sunset Club’ There was a line tonight and the ‘Heavies’ were on strict crown control duty on the door. Xander approached dismissing the queue and making for the open doorway. His head was pounding with desire to find Willow. Both men moved to block his entrance and one shoved his hand in his face.

Xander had no time for this. His face contorted into a monstrous visage and he bared his teeth and growled.

A small shriek came from one or two in the cue and both men nodded and moved out the way beckoning.

Here he was again he thought as the prowled the half light looking for his mate! Tonight he felt different somehow; he and he could sense the hearts pounding all around him and smell fear and anticipation from occupants inside who walked a fine wire of mortality.

A woman stepped up to him as he moved through the bar and put a finger on his lips then moved to stroke his cheek “Oh now look at you sugar, Why are you so cranky?”

Xander looked at her his gaze all slightly hazy with reddish shadows. It was the same girl who had made a mockery of him the night before. ‘Oh the poetry he thought.’

He transformed back and her face was a picture “Oh it’s you!” She stammered a little surprised. “Why didn’t you tell me you had a touch of bad boy in you?” She smiled seductively and placed her arm on his waist.

Xander looked down at her, she looked so frail now, pitiful he thought. He leaned in to her and sniffed at her neck. He could smell the blood beyond the cheap perfume she was wearing and her veins seemed to come alive to him.

“How about I give you that second shot you were looking for?” She toyed and pulled at his arm.

“Err…OK!” He nodded and accepted her leading him off. ‘She deserved it he consoled himself.’

They found an empty cubicle and she shuffled in first beckoning him to follow. He could hear her heart beating and with his focus on this all else fell into silence.

“Can I get you anything?” A passing waiter enquired pausing at their table. Xander just turned and snarled. “Oh … Ok!” he turned and made a quick exit.

“Now that was a little rough sugar.” The girl whispered to him grabbing him around the waist and hugging him tightly.

Xander turned his attention back to her. He pushed himself further into the booth penning her in.

‘Take her’ a dark voice whispered in his mind.

He leaned in and kissed her cheek with open lips. His tongue flicked out and lapped at the soft skin. Her breathing was heavy and her skin was flushed.

Good the blood is flowing the darkness beckoned; you hunger for it don’t you?

“Yes!” he mumbled in response to the silent voice in his head.

“Oh yes, sugar!” The girl echoed thinking he was talking to her.

Xanders fangs protruded from his lips as he worked his way to her neck. ‘Yes’ he thought and he bit down.

“Mmmm, Oh…mmm.” Came a whimper from his victim. Instead of pulling away though her arms manoeuvred their way through his and pulled his head closer to him.

The blood lust was upon him but even so he found her reaction alarming. She wanted him to drink; she wanted him to feed off her.

The blood flowed down his throat in gulps but it did not feel wrong anymore and he didn’t feel any need to be rough with her. It was almost like in accepting the desire it he had exerted an ounce of control to grasp the darkness and embrace it!

This he could do he thought. Choose carefully and submissive donors could just fall at his feet. Willow would be proud he thought. Oh god Willow. In his blood lust he had forgot why he was here. He pulled off the girl and she almost seemed shocked by his sudden retreat.

“What….Where are you going sugar?” She protested half reaching for him but realising she what little strength she had had been drained!

Xander looked down at her. Yes pitiful he thought again. He wiped off the blood on his lips with his sleeve and made his way out the back exit.

The alley was dark and empty at the back of the club.

“Grrrr” A growl broke the silence as moved down the back alley. He turned and saw two gleaming eyes breaking the shadows.

“Err Ok down boy!” Xander called as he edged backwards.

A wolfs jaw snapped viciously as the rest of hairy muscular frame of a werewolf came into view and clambered towards him on all fours.

Xander recognised the monster as the transformed beast that was Oz’s lupine form and knew that there was danger here. He glanced about looking for something to use against him.

He grabbed a trash can lid and threw it at the werewolf but it slipped past Oz’s head. “There boy, Fetch!” Xander tried to recover from the poor throw.

The werewolf was having none of it though and pounced at Xander who just narrowly rolled out of the way. Its powerful jaws bit dirt but it recovered quickly and this time pinned the fallen Xander before he could get to his feet.

Oz sniffed at him. Starting at his head and neck and slowly moving down his body. Something was agitating it, he noticed.

Xander chanced a quick kick at the werewolf’s head and it cried as it snapped back.

Xander was surprised at the strength of the blow but was not going to risk angering it further he staggered to his feet and using the fact that it was momentarily dazed he made a run for it.

He was faster than he remembered and he made some distance before he heard the sound of the werewolf ion his heels again. ‘Which way?’ he thought.

‘I know back to the library, Willow may have followed him there.’

A few screams behind him alerted him to the fact that others had had a close encounter with Oz.

Surprisingly he made the entrance to the school hall and slammed the door closed behind him barring it shut. He ran down the hall and heard a crash behind him suggesting the doors had not held.

He turned the corner of the corridor leading to the library and almost fell over Giles and Wesley who had come to investigate the noise.

“What ..the? Wesley stammered.

“Werewolf…Oz!” Xander gasped and ran on.

The watchers looked around the corridor and saw the beast approaching at a pace. They turned sharply and rushed after Xander.

All three of them broke into the library almost at the same time and they quickly barred the door shut.

“Quick, give me a hand with this!” Giles called to Xander as he tried to shove a book case in-front of the door. Together they pushed it against the oak just as there was a loud crash against the other side.

“We need more stuff!” Giles panted. He looked around and saw Wesley staggering forwards with a few axes and swords.

“Got some.” Wesley grinned.

“That is no good!” Giles snapped we need something to secure the door.

Xander picked up a book case easily and forced it against the door and both men looked at him. “Ow!” He bent over feigning a strained back.

Another crash but the door still held!

“AWOOooooo!” Came a wolf cry. Then they heard the beast running back down the corridor.

“Wherever did you pick him up?” Giles remarked to Xander.

“Oh just out on the streets. You know it’s rough out there!” He quipped.

“Where’s Cordy?” Wesley suddenly noticed.

Xander shuffled nervously. “We.. err.. got separated when the werewolf appeared…..I think…I think he may have got to her.”

“May? You didn’t check?” Wesley gasped. “She may be injured or worse lying waiting for that monster to return!”

“I agree.” Giles supported his fellow watcher. “It is very unlike you Xander to leave a girl in distress. What happened?”

“Well it kinda all happened so quickly.” He lied. “One minute we are walking along, next the werewolf breaks cover of the alley and is on us. Cordy ran into the Alley whilst I ran the opposite way trying to distract it. However it followed her and then pursued me. I thought I would keep leading him away so if she is alive it would give her a chance to recover and escape!”

“Well, we can only hope.” Giles frowned.

Wesley just slumped on the table head in hands distraught.

…………………………………………………………………………………………..

Willow was practically dragged down the stairs by her evil twin pulling her hair. She tried to stand in places but the momentum made it difficult and the hard stone steps scuffed and cut her in a number of places.

‘Evil Willow’ opened the cell door and practically threw her in. She moaned but her captor only seemed to take glee from it.

The cell door was slammed shut and she could hear a latch being dropped.

“You wanna play rough little girl!” ‘Evil Willow’ snarled. “I can show you rough!”

Willow looked down at her injured limbs and sobbed some more. She crawled to the bag and took out one of her other dresses and carefully rubbed the cuts clear of gravel and dirt imbedded in them wincing with every touch.

‘How was she going to get out of this?’ She thought. The vampire had so much strength and an army of vampires up there helping her. She wasn’t Buffy and although she screamed loudly the graveyard was so remote, nobody could have heard her really.

The door latch scraped and the door swung open with a loud clang.

Her evil twin was carrying a larger urn this time and stepped forth tipping the contents over Willow. She gasped and raised her hand defensively as a waterfall erupted from the urn soaking willow from head to toe. The door slammed closed again and Willow heard a sadistic giggle coming from her captor as she left again.

Willow checked and although sodden the water was at least semi clear it seemed. She licked some of the cold moisture off her arms and shook off the excess water.

She was about to start on her wounds again when the door opened again and another shower rained down on her.

“Clean yet bitch!” Came a scolding snap and the door closed again.

She caught herself feeling strangely good that time as the water cooled her and freed her mind of the torment of the place. He wounds did not sting as much as the water froze them sedating the pain slightly and as she shook herself and crept up back to the chair she was almost longing for another shower.

“Ahh, good girl back in your chair!” ‘Evil Willow’ acknowledged approvingly and a third urn beat down on her but only half the contents this time.

‘Evil Willow’ stopped her eyes exploring her captive from head to toe. The purple dress clung tight against Willows naked body and everything was on display from the proud summits of her small breasts to the dark silhouette of her virginal hair. She purred softly and Willow feeling very exposed pulled herself deeper into the chair and crossed her arms before her.

“Oh, don’t hide yourself away like that baby. We should be proud of our figure, live a little.” ‘Evil Willow’ moved in and snatched at Willows arms to free them but she held them tight. She was going to force the issue but decided against it. “Oh well, Mummy’s had her fun for one night. Sleep tight and I will see you later!”

‘Evil Willow’ moved for the door once more and Willow did not try to stop her as she shivered in the cold.

The door slammed and the latch was drawn.

“Now don’t worry. I am leaving you some company this time but do not go trying anything with them or they may just bite!” She grinned as she departed.

Willow cuddled herself to give herself some comfort. She heard her evil twin departing and the crypt slamming shut sometime later but footsteps in the dark assured her that she was not alone. Again she sobbed. ‘Where was help when she needed it?”

‘Evil Willow’ left instructions to her vampire servants to seal the door from the inside and await her return. They were only too willing to comply. ‘How weak they were.’ she thought. Looking at the moon high in the sky for the first time she realised how late it was. Xander may have returned by now to find her gone. That would spell trouble she thought and she quickened her pace.

………………………………………………………………………………………….

There hadn’t been a sound outside now for nearly half an hour and Giles thought it was safe to assume the werewolf had moved on. Xander had insisted he go after Cordelia but both watchers had agreed he was safer staying put whilst the monster roamed nearby. Now that it appeared they were clear he again pressed the matter.

“I really need to be going!” He cried in feigned despair. “If Cordy is alive I need to go see if I can find her!”

“You are right of course.” Giles agreed. “But I wouldn’t be happy you going alone.” He looked at an anxious Wesley.

“I will go with him. Dutifully armed and all that.” He nodded fondling a crossbow, he caught the catch and the taut bolt released narrowly missing Xander and imbedding in a nearby bookcase. “Err…Perhaps a melee weapon would be better?” he said nervously throwing the crossbow on the table and adjusting his spectacles.

The other two nodded in tandem.

“Right then.” Giles moved to the book cases. “I think I will need a bit of help!” He suggested, indicating to the pair that seemed happy holding back just watching him struggle.

Moments later and Xander was free once more but trailing another burden. ‘He needed an excuse to break away he thought, but what?”

Wesley was doing his usual trick of over exaggerating every action and Xander was getting tired of it.

They soon reached the alley Xander alleged the attack came from and Wesley started looking about for clues of the conflict.

“Hmm … Interesting.” He finally offered up kicking at the floor.

“What?” Xander asked.

Wesley leaned over looking ate markings on the ground.

“What can you see?” Xander tried to look intrigued.

“Just claw marks heading into the alley.” He pointed and Xander’s increased perception saw a number of scratches, which could easily have been made by a stray cat. Certainly they were not big enough for Oz to have made them.

“Quick let go this way.” Wesley sounded excited.

“Err lets not take our chances, safer to stick to the main road.” He dismissed walking on.

Wesley held his ground. “Cordy could be lying injured somewhere and all you worry about is safety?” He argued.

“I worry that while you are off chasing ‘Garfield’ up some alley the real werewolf roams free and Cordy lies possibly dying somewhere.

Wesley looked at him puzzled?

“The scratches in the ground, they are not from anything larger than a fat alley cat.” Xander explained.

“Oh and you are from the academy of trackers would you?” Wesley Mocked.

“Are you?” Xander retorted. “Go if you want, I am going to carry on this way, may be better if we split up anyway!”

Wesley nodded. “Fine!”

Xander did not look back, this was his chance to break and he was taking it. The watcher could take care of himself and if the werewolf got him, so be it. It was no longer his concern. He quickened his pace to get some distance between them.

Ignoring his retreating comrade Wesley nervously made his way up the alley. His axe was braced nervously and he lingered over every step as his eyes adjusted further to the shade. He tripped on a raised pave disturbing an alley cat in the process. A load “Meowww.” resounded throughout the alley and Wesleys heart sank. Perhaps Xander was right.

Recovering though his eyes could just make out a girl enter the alley just ahead.

“Cordy …. Is that you?” He stammered stepping forwards and dropping his axe to run and comfort her. But as he got closer he realised his mistake.

“Willow!” He turned quickly trying to fumble to recover his weapon.

Willows foot got there first sealing it to the floor before he cold use it.

“Oooh, a big bad watcher is in town!” She scoffed and slammed into him with the back of her hand. Wesley flew and landed against the wall awkwardly. He went to stand but she was on him again, jaws biting at his shoulder. He kicked her back hard and ripping his shirt revealed a crucifix which knocked her back.

“Oh Willow.” He exclaimed as he carefully used it to create a ward between them. “Why you?”

Willow hissed and made a retreat down the alley. Wesley was going to follow but by the time he recovered his weapon she was gone.

……………………………………………………………………………………….

A girl stepped into view from the alley ahead. At first Xander did not recognise her with her new outfit but the telling was in the lack of heart beat and her smell, that aroma that was unmistakably Willow. His senses were becoming ever the more refined and his bond to Willow stronger by the night.

His first emotions on finding her were of relief and desire but as she came close the memory of the nights activities also brought anger and frustrations to the bare!

“Where were you?” He snapped.

“Oh I am sorry baby, did you miss me?” She whispered in his ear leaning in to embrace him.

Xander wanted so much to squeeze her and not let go but instead pulled away. “You said you were going to wait!” He scolded.

Willow was not letting him go that easy and stepped in again slipping arms around his waist and giving him a squeeze. “I am here now though.” she dismissed.

Her clothes were slight and revealing and as she closed in tighter he could feel her breasts pressed against him making it difficult to focus. He was glad to have her back but felt a jealousy burning. “I have been wandering these streets, chased by a werewolf, almost impaled on a crossbow bolt and had to endure the ramblings of Giles and Wesley’s plans to take down the woman that I love!” He explained.

“You still love me then?” Willow smiled seductively. “Even though I am a bad girl?”

Xander looked into her eyes and melted. “I have been worse.” He confessed. “I almost drained Cordy. I fed on a girl at the club and have lied repeatedly to the closest thing to friends I have!”

Willow smiled. “You drank for the first time and mummy missed it. Aww I would so have loved to be there.” She toyed. “I just got a little tied up in myself, you know how it is having to find ways to constantly entertain yourself. I did meet a couple of new vampire friends though.”

“You have been hanging with other Vampires?” Xander flushed. “Who were they?”

“Oh don’t worry about them lover, you are the only man in my life.” So anyway as you have eaten already how about we get out of here.”

Xander agreed but as he filled Willow in on more details of the night. The meeting in the library, patrol, Oz and the bar they both agreed that if Cordy did live or they put a few things together his apartment was a no go zone for now. So they headed back to the derelict house.

The door was ajar and moaning noises were coming from within when the got there.

Willow was unrelenting and charged in, Xander kept pace with her from behind. In the lounge they found a couple of youths neither more than twenty years of age making out on the sofa.

On sight of the intruders both of them fell back flushed trying to cover up their half naked bodies.

The guy looked at Xander. “We got here first but upstairs is fee if you want.” He indicated by tilting his neck.

Xander smiled at Willow. “What do you reckon baby? Are you happy to share?”

“Oh yes!” She giggled knowingly and moved forwards to the sofa.

The guy watched not knowing what to do as a brash Willow sat and stroking the naked upper torso of a nervous girl affectionately then leaned in to kiss her. The girl pulled back a little feeling awkward but on seeing a supporting glance from her boyfriend complied returning the kiss head on.

Willow twisted and turned the girl so a barrier was formed between her and the guy and continued to caress the young girl. Xander stepped forwards and stroked the girl’s hair not really knowing what to do. The guy leaned in and stroked Willows arched back and Willow purred softly.

Xander watched the guy’s hands like a hawk and as they slipped lower and an ever accommodating Willow played along it seemed. Immediately jealousy took over and enraged he stepped in like a shot and grabbed the guy pushing him backwards.

The guy grabbed at Xander but when he wasn’t released he shuffled in his pocket and grabbed at a knife which he stabbed at Xanders arm with.

Xander pulled back and was about to re-engage when Willow turned and with lightning precision kicked out burrowing her foot into his neck snapping it instantly.

The woman screamed and Willow turned on her next as Xander stepped in to intercede, she bit deep into the woman’s neck.

The sight of the blood excited him more than the most recent pointless deaths alarmed him and with a deep dark shadow clouding his mind again he leaned in to drink from the girls other shoulder.

For a while after when the woman finally stopped whimpering all that could be heard was the gulping of blood from two vampires lost to the blood lust.

When they finally drank their fill an uncomfortable Xander helped Willow dispose of the bodies a few alleys down. He had enjoyed the drink but still felt marginally guilty about their deaths.

Xanders knife wound had healed as if never there but Willow insisted on kissing it better regardless.

The returned and ensured all curtains were concealed to protect against the approaching daylight and retired upstairs.

Both were drained by the nights activities so after only momentary kissing they lay cuddled up ready to sleep the day away.

Xander turned to Willow though before they nodded off and whispered “Do you know I never thought I would here Buffy lie to the group again after the Angel affair but tonight she had the cheek to pretend she was with you two nights back to make it appear as if she was all like ‘protector Buffy’ but that couldn’t have been right as you were with me, could it?”

Willow almost giggled knowingly. “No baby, some women are just not to be trusted!”

Xander signed. “Thought so. I love being with you, you know.”

“I know.” Smiled Willow. “I love being with me too.”

Epilogue Night 3

Willow had sat for a while feeling sorry for herself then changed into a more fitting outfit in red. Still very out of place here and that made her feel silly. At least it was dry though and warm.

The cuts on her arms were only circumstantial and fortunately cleaned up easy. She was tougher than she thought she praised.

She had caught a glance of at least two vampires lurking in the shadows. So they were here guards and their cards were marked.

She cleared her head and sad cross legged meditating on the floor. Focusing on the magic’s that she had learned to date and trying to search her subconscious for one or two incarnations that may help.

A muffled echo of a wolf cry brought her momentarily out of her trance. ‘Oz’ she thought, her gambit was a good one for in breaking free for an instant he may have caught her scent.

Now was the time for some positive energy. A light directionless breeze brushed her brow apart and tickled hairs on the back of her neck and she smiled.

She was anything but weak!
