Spike stared confused at Xander for a few moments frowning
“How did you know I was here?” he asked
Xander smiled and stood up walking over to his bed he stripping down to his boxers as he went.
“Hyena possession, solider possession and graduation.” Xander said snuggling down under the covers.
Spike continued to stare in confused at Xander. First the boy told him he could sense him, then rattled off about some possessions and an event Spike would rather forget and then the boy practically stripped in front of him without batting an eyelid.
(Something is seriously wrong with this picture.) Spike thought as he crossed over to the bed and sat down (and I intend to find out what.)
Spike laid down next to Xander on his bed and glanced over to him.
“Not following you mate,” he said softly.
“Ok, you know about the fact I’ve been possessed twice right?”
“Um I know you’ve been possessed once, by a solder on Halloween but not about the, what did you say? Hyena possession?”
“Yeah Hyena. Ok I’ll start there and you can interrupt me I you have any serious questions.”
“Ok Pet.” Spike agreed turning on his side to face Xander.
“Right, not long after Buffy came here we went on a school trip to the zoo and myself and four others got possessed but Hyenas spirits. The gang managed to get us un-possesed but it left some kind of residue or it triggered something in all five of us, god only knows what. Only Giles knows that my memories were intact after the Hyena possession so when we found out that some thing was wrong I set up a meeting just with Giles for us to try to find out what was happening.”
“Two questions pet,” Spike interrupted “Why didn’t the girls know that you still had your memories and what was it that had gone wrong?”
“I…We all did things that we would like to forget. Um.. I hurt the girls and we all ate the school mascot. The others also ate the principal. I thought it would be easier on every one if I ‘forgot’ what happened. As for what went wrong…. all of us now have heightened senses. All five of mine are heightened and the others have three heightened except Tor who has four. We also have increased strength. The problem is, although my senses are heightened unlike the others, whose senses are fairly stable, mine aren’t. They either overload of fade away completely. Giles has tried to do some research but hasn’t found anything to help me yet.”
Spike stared horrified at Xander he could remember what it was like when he was first turned and his new senses kicked in. it had been over whelming for him and if he was honest with himself he had been terrified.
“Bloody hell pet, how the hell do you cope?”
“It’s not too bad, most of the time,” Xander said sadly “When I’m with my pack it’s easier to handle and for some reason when I’m with you or Tara they don’t hurt at all. They seem to work better too, that’s part of the reason I either patrol with you or Willow and Tara.”
