I do not own AtS or BtVS. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
Chapter Two
A/N: Just so you know, I’ve decided to exclude Spike’s presence in this fic. I just don’t think there’s any point in his being there. The story progresses better if we just imagine that he never came back as a ghost.
Chapter Two
“Hel“Hello Dawn, you certainly look different,” Wesley greeted her, looking her up and down, but managing to disguise it better than Gunn had done only moments before.
“Wow, so do you,” Dawn said, shocked that this ruggedly handsome guy was her sister’s stuffy ex-watcher. Damn, when did Wesley get so hot?
Dawn somehow managed to drag her gaze away from Wesley and turn towards Angel. “So are you gonna give me the guided tour of your new evil law firm or not? Pretty please,” she added, batting her eyelids at him and giving him the Summers pout that Buffy had guaranteed would make any make any man cave in.
“Fine, just don’t get in the way… or talk to anyone, got it?”
“Fine, I’ll be a good girl,” Dawn replied, before walking ahead and starting to chat to Fred.
Both Wesley and Gunn watched Dawn’s ass swaying as they followed her.
“Man, that girl is worth going to jail for,” Gunn muttered under his breath.
“Mmm,” Wesley agreed, almost inaudibly.
Angel clapped a hand on each man’s shoulder.
“Buffy would tear either of you in two before jail even came into the question,” he smiled. “Let it go guys… you really don’t wanna see Buffy when she’s mad.”
“So,” Angel said as they walked into the huge sunlight filled room, “this is my office. Look, I have my own desk and everything. Just don’t touch the phone… you might end up sacrificing a loved one before you know it.”
“Ummm, Angel, shouldn’t you be on fire?” Dawn asked, staring at tampiampire who was stood in full daylight.
“Special glass,” Angel explained, “stops me from catching on fire…Pretty cool, huh?”
“You bitch!” Dawn suddenly exclaimed, and Angel looked up, wondering what she was talking about.
“Oh heya Dawnie, how are you?” It was Harmony, poking her head in the door to give her boss some information.
“How am I? HOW AM I?” Dawn was shocked. “You try to kill my sister and Xander and you kidnap me but you feel fine to ask me how I am? Does this evil bitch work for you?” she asked Angel.
“Ummm, yeah, “Angel said, looking slightly embarassed. “Wesley chose her though…. Umm, Wes, why don’t you take Dawn and show her the rest of the building while I deal with whatever it is that Harmony wants.”
“Okay, come on Dawn. I guess I’m your tour-guide for the day,” Wesley said, leading Dawn out of the room and away from Harmony. Fred and Gunn had already disappeared to their respective offices, stating that they both had loads ork ork to be getting on with.
“So how come you hired Harmony. You do know she’s evil right?” Dawn asked.
“Of course. She not only tried to kill your sister and Xander. She also tried to kill all of us too. It’s just that I figured she was also too stupid to plot against us. I never realised that she’d kidnapped you though,” Wesley said, hoping that Dawn wasn’t too upset by Harmony’s presence.
“Yeah, she was pretty crappy at it though,” Dawn laughed. “So do you have a library here?”
“A fairly impressive one actually,” Wesley replied. “Do you want to see it?”
“I’d love to.”
“You do know that there’s no Sweet Valley High books there though,” Wesley grinned.
“Oh my God, I was like twelve then. You don’t think I still read that stuff? Andway, way, that wasn’t really me. The monks gave you that memory. I think that if it had really happened I would have read something way cooler.”
“Of course,” Wesley laughed. “It’s just through here.”
Dawn entered the room, which looked like some kind of old English study, just what she’s expected. What she hadn’t expected was the single desk with about twenty books on it. She began to giggle.
“Is that it?” she laughed. “It’s so small. I thought it’d be bigger than this.”
“Hey, it’s not the size that counts,” Wesley told her, blushing at the innuendo.
Dawn grinned, liking the fact that she’d made Wesley blush. There was definitely potential here.
“Let me guess, it’s the how you use it that matters,” she smiled.
“Well, yeah,” Wesley replied, blushing less this time. He could give as good as he got.
Meanwhile Dawn was picking up one of the books and looking through it.
“Okay, so you know that there’s nothing in these books right?”
