A dozen vampires, no waiting

A dozen Vampires, no waiting!
----------------------------------

A/N: Okay I just figured out what this is and I figured I'd let you in on it. "Electricity Flows" is the prequel to another fic I'm writing but haven't started posting yet (Sucker Love). I was going to do this as a stand alone, but too many things are going to be in both so this is now the appetiser to the main course if you like...and I hope you like.
Thanks for the reviews.

A/N: Another thing, this is set sometime after "Revelations" in season 3

Chapter: 3

The fight was lasting to long, Buffy knew that. The only way to win against this many foes was to cut a dusty swathe through them before they had time to realise it was only two against twelve. For every one they dusted, another was there to take its place and both girls were beginning to feel the fight.

‘Really time to put Faith’s positive attitude to the test.’ The blonde decided, spinning away from a vamp that would have been considered behind the times at the turn of the century, if his grey smock coat was anything to go by.

“And my God could that hat be any dorkier, you look like a Dutch Miller.” She snapped her left leg high and her sneaker caught him in the face and his hat fell to the ground. “There, that’s better.” She told him and groaned when another stepped up.

Faith was being pulled like a tug of war between two ugly ass dead guys. The first had grabbed her arm and was trying to pull her in close to his body. While she was trying to struggle from his iron grip another had come up from behind and grabbed her rain-matted hair with one hand and her shoulder with the other and was trying to drag her backwards.

Stuck in the middle, she cursed as her feet slipped and slid across the water-choked lawn. The two vamps were actually arguing like kids over who was going to bite her first.

Having had enough of the hair pulling she formed her hands into a T above her head and hollered: “Time out!”

Ugly and Uglier stopped their pulling, but neither let go. “What?” Snapped the arm yanker.

“Just chill guys,” she said soothingly, trying to shake them off of her but they weren’t loosening their grips for shit, “there’s plenty of Faith to go around and I like some rough and tumble as much as you guys do. I’m sure we can come to some arrangement that suits us all.” She gave them her brightest smile.

Now she had their attention. The prick still holding her wrist like a vice was grinning obscenely around his fangs and the one behind had sidled in close, his crotch rubbing her ass. The hand that had been clenching her shoulder was now stroking the graceful arc of her neck.

“Faith will you stop making nice with the dead guys and give me a hand, if it’s not too much to ask?”

Both of Faith’s vamps growled instinctively at the blonde Slayer’s voice.

Faith stroked the cheek of the guy in front and turned to smile at the snuggler behind.

“Don’t mind her. She thinks she should be the only one to bump uglies with the mortally-challenged, but hey, I’m just as much the Slayer she is, right?” She hooked an arm around the fiend number one’s neck and pulled herself in closer, number two stayed glued to her back.

“What did you have in mind?” The one in front asked. He was sniffing her neck which she didn’t want to think about too much.

“How about…” The dark Slayer began seductively. “…something like…” Both had leaned in close, her husky voice and the pulse twitching beneath her smooth skin, held them in a trance.

“Yeah…?” The snuggler breathed into her neck and she felt sharp teeth scrape her skin, but not break it.

Okay time to get this party started. She gave him a backwards head butt, and then cursed because it didn’t do anywhere near as much damage as she’d hoped, but the surprise did make him stumble back a step or two. The guy in front was quick to react. With a growl he lunged for her throat, but her arms were already around his neck and it was the work of a moment to grab him by the ears and twist.

Before he’d finished combusting, she’d spun to face the snuggler. He was standing there looking like he’d been caught with his pants down. She looked down. In a very school boy kinda way, he had.

“You wanna book to cover that?” She asked before she kicked him in the jewels.

“You bitch!” He squealed as he sank to the flooded earth. It was still raining.

“What? I told you I liked the rough and tumble. Wasn’t it good for you?” She kicked him in the head as hard as she could. It flew off his shoulders and hit the ground with a squelch before turning to dust. “Whoa!”

She was looking around for the blonde Slayer when another of the fiends sprang at her from off-side. She caught him in the air and threw him hard into a headstone. His neck snapped and he slumped down unconscious.

“Like I said…Plenty of Faith for everyone.”

“Yeah, I could use some.” Buffy sounded more desperate now.

Faith finally picked her out of the dark a little way off. She was surrounded by the remaining five vampires, stakeless and not looking so fancy in her drenched clothes. Drenched not just by the rain either, Faith could see plenty of darker splodges that could have been mud or blood.

She was holding the five off, but she couldn’t break the circle they’d formed. They knew it and were taunting her, trying to bait her into making a wrong move.

Faith charged over. So intent on going to Buffy’s rescue that she didn’t care that she’d lost her stake swell.

She jumped on the back of the first one she came to, hoping to repeat her earlier trick and twist his head clean off, but he was bigger and meatier. His neck as thick as her waist at least. She clung on as he charged about trying to shake her off.

Buffy lunged at another while they were all distracted by Faith’s rodeo clown. She managed to knock him sideways and spot just what the doctor ordered. It seemed to stand there waiting for her. A halo of brilliant light hung around it, the golden sparkles couldn’t help but catch the eye and the small velvet cushion it was displayed on just looked so comfy. The blond shook her head wondering at what point in her extremely busy night she’d suffered the concussion, before diving through the air.

“Oh crap!” The statement was heartfelt as Buffy landed with a splat and slid along the cold, marshy grass, just like they did in Bull Durham but without the enjoyment factor, and clasped her hand around the wooden stake.

Not bothering to get up just yet, because she was already as wet and filthy as she was ever going to be, she rolled over and threw the wood expertly at the undead buckaroo Faith was riding. The thing dusted and Faith suddenly found herself hanging onto thin air.

Buffy couldn’t help the laugh that escaped her as the dark Slayer gave a girlish scream and fell ass first into a puddle. In fact she was enjoying the moment so much she never even saw the solid motorcycle boot coming. Boy, did she feel it.
