The Next Morning

Buffy found herself almost late to class. It hadn't been a great night.

She sat in French wishing the class would last forever. Not that she had a particular liking for the class, she just wasn't looking forward to Anatomy. She sat beside Faith in that class. She and Faith were good friends- but there was a competitive edge to the friendship. No doubt that Faith would want to know what had happened in Travis's office. Buffy was so embarrassed.

French ended and Anatomy was about to start. Buffy took her usual seat beside Faith.

"Hey B. How it go?" Faith wasted no time.

There was nothing Buffy could do but tell the truth. Faith would find out sooner or later.

"I am marrying Angelus". Buffy replied flatly.

Before either girl could utter another word, the bell for class rang. Neither girl would dare speak until it was over.

Lunch Time

"So B, do I have this straight? Instead of becoming a kick-ass Slayer in some exotic location, your gonna stay with the Council and pull Sunnydale patrols? Whoa...Gotta say I never saw this one coming." Faith wasn't a bit y aby about Buffy's news. But part of her was happy that there was more room at the top for her.

"But just think B, Angelus is pretty hot stuff. You could have done a lot worse. No doubt." Faith smirked.

"You think?" Buffy asked. Although she already knew the answer.

"God Buff, you telling me you ain't never thought about gettin' some of that?" Faith was shocked.

Dorm Room

"Open it! Open it!" Willow was almost jumping up and down.

Buffy had received a large package this afternoon. It was so rare that the senior girls got mail of any sort. It felt like a holiday. Willow was almost more excited than Buffy.

"Okay...." Buffy had to smile. The package was huge.

As she removed the brown paper she found 3 separate packages within. One in Gold paper, one in silver paper, and the other in baby blue paper. Each had a letter attached.

The letter attached to the baby blue wrapped present read:

Buffy-

We have never met. I am your 13-year old sister Dawn. Mom and Dad told me that they told you they had another child. They also said that Council rules forbid them from telling you if I were a boy or girl and anything about me. Well I finally get to write to you and meet you on your wedding day. Here is a little present from me to you. It is for you to wear to your formal ball. Congratulations on the engagement . I can't wait to meet you.

Your little sister,
Dawn Summers.

The ball gown was beautiful. It was a floor length black chiffon dress with an overlaying a champagne gold underlining. It fit Buffy's style. It was simple, yet it had flare at the same time.

Buffy opened the letter on the silver wrapped present.

Buffy-

It is me Samantha- your cousin. We used to be so close until you were called away to be a slayer. We are always laughing and smiling together. I can't wait to see you again on Tuesday. Wear this gown on your wedding night.

Your cousin and friend,
Sam

This was much more daring . Buffy really couldn't picture herself in it. But, it did have a sexy appeal. It was low-cut with tiny straps. Toraloral toned gown will fall only a few inched below her waist.

She opened the last letter that was on the gold present:

Buffy-

It is mom and dad. Honey we miss you so much. We are so proud of you. This dress was your great-grandmother's. It has been pasted down to the first born daughter in our family ever since, and now it is your dress. We can't wait to see you on Tuesday.

Love,
Mom and Dad

A tear was caught in Buffy's eye as she looked at the dress. It was cream colored. Not the traditional bright, blinding white. The dress had a slight pleat that began at the waistline and continued though the dress. There was a small train.

It wasn't the look that made Buffy cry- it was the history behind it. A family dress. It proved that her family must be proud of her. That would be the silver lining in the dark cloud that would be her wedding to Angelus.
