Roomies
Chapter 29
Knowing he would need more than thirty minutes to recover, she let herself doze in his arms until she finally succumbed to her dreams, sleeping away the afternoon in her boyfriend’s arms.
Waking up to a frantic knocking on the door, Buffy extracted herself from Spike’s arms, padding across the floor half asleep while she pulled on her robe and batted the hair away from her eyes. Pulling open the door she was greeted by an overexcited Xander, his girlfriend Anya in tow.
“Hey!” He greeted, pulling Anya inside with him. Buffy returned the greeting as she shut the door, motioning towards Spike with her hands,
“He should be awake any minute.” She assured them when they began to whisper. “How are you?”
“Oh, we’re-.” Anya was abruptly cut off by Xander’s hand across her mouth.
“We’re good.” He told her quickly, rubbing his hand on his shirt where Anya had just bitten him. “Fantastic, just thought we’d swing by and see if you wanted to hit the Bronze tonight.”
“We’d like to double date so that we can talk about-.”
“Things.” Xander said hurriedly, giving Buffy the impression that not only was Anya unfamiliar with tact, she probably had a problem with personal privacy too. “So? You interested?”
“Yeah sure!” Nudging Spike awake, she threw him some clothes before stepping into her large walk-in closet and hurriedly dressing. Stepping back out again, she woke Spike up again, pulling the covers off his warm body knowing that he wouldn’t get up otherwise.
Averting his eyes quickly, Xander tried not to compare himself to the magnificent specimen that Spike just provided. Seeing Anya ogle his goodies was too much for Xander. Pulling his girlfriend out of the door he offered to wait in the hall for the sleepy couple.
Not waiting for the door to shut behind them before Anya started to complain about being dragged away, forcing Xander to shut her up with a kiss. There was no way he was going to be able to continue his relationship with this girl unless she learnt that not everything was about sex. Well, not when his friends and family were around.
Pulling Spike out of the door and shutting it firmly behind them, Buffy was determined that they would get out and have some fun with Xander and Anya. A chance to put some of the not so nice things that had happened behind them, and enjoy themselves, only Spike would have much preferred a quiet night in, just the two of them. Preferably still naked and in bed.
“Let’s rock this joint!” Xander whooped, leading the way down the hall. Imagining shooting the git in the back of the head, Spike put a smile on his face and prepared himself for the boredom that lay ahead of him.
Watching from the privacy of the co-ed bathroom door, Riley was seething as Buffy waltzed past, the British jerk holding her hand as their company cracked stupid jokes. Slamming the door after they had passed he punched the wall as hard as he could.
Seeing Buffy enjoy herself with her friends, Spike cheered up quite considerably. He knew that he was loves bitch and to an extent he was proud of it, but realising that Buffy being happy made him happy was quite a surprise to him. Watching her shake her ass on the dance floor with Anya was quite an enjoyable pastime. She was shimmying and shaking along to music that he wouldn’t be caught dead listening to alone, yet when she was having fun, he found that he could stand to sit and listen as long as she kept up those amazing moves.
Cutting a path through the crowds, Buffy made her way back to the table, taking a seat next to Spike, her hand resting on his knee as she drank, her diamond ring glistening in the spotlights. Trying unsuccessfully to take his hand and lead him to the dance floor, Buffy allowed him to shoo her away. Half dancing, half walking, she tried to entice him into joining her, her tongue poking out of her mouth as she flirted across the club, half the male populace openly lusting after this beautiful, confident creature and yet she danced for one man, and one man only.
