Racing time
Buffy squatted low on the hill, watching as the small town below her quieted down for the night. Making a note to steer clear of the bars she studied the homes she could see closest to her. Noting the ones that had backyards and particularly the one that looked all but abandoned.
Turning back she locked eyes with Jaeger “Stay here, ill be back. Keep Lonnie awake okay?” The child nodded and pressed slightly on the stab wound in her mother’s stomach. Lonnie’s wounds had been three stab wounds to her abdomen one to her thigh and several broken ribs as well as a nasty concussion. The internal bleeding caused by a broken rib had been slowed by the shaman’s medicines but Buffy knew she had to find a hospital quickly.
Running low to the ground she watched her surroundings intently. Stopping behind a tree she scanned the area before her carefully, no one seemed to up and she carefully made her way to the house that had seemed empty.
Jumping the fence she stopped and quietly crept up to the back door. Breaking and entering wasn’t her forte even when she hadn’t been out of the loop for a decade. No it was unarguably Faiths. You just never said that to the slayer otherwise shed probably deck ya.
Standing up facing the back door she jiggled the handle and studied the doorway, there didn’t look like there was any sort of alarm installed. Standing back she turned her face away and smashed her elbow through the glass. Wincing at the noise it made before reaching in and unlocking the door.
Walking into the doorway it she froze in amazement. There wasn’t anything special or above average at the contents or the kitchen. Just that it was a kitchen, complete with tile and indoor plumbing.
Turning she saw stairs, walking up them quietly she as assured that this house was indeed empty; there was a fine layer of dust on every surface. Reaching the upstairs she opened the doors until she found a bedroom, obviously a Childs she walked in to see if there were any clothes that Jaeger could fit into.
It was a boy’s room judging from the toys and Xbox set off to the side. Opening the drawers she pulled out some jeans that looked about the girl’s size and a t-shirt. Turning to the closet she found a tiny hoodie that would have to do for Axel.
Exiting the room she found the master bedroom and after rifling through the closet decided that the owners of this house had horrible fashion sense. Pulling on the black sweats, flip flops and a Bayern-Munchen sweatshirt from the World Cup she pulled out clothes for Lonnie and went into the bathroom to search out a First Aid kit.
Turning on the light she scanned the contents of the cabinets before looking up and nearly jumping out of her own skin when she saw the person in the mirror. It looked nothing like her. She was tan, tanner than she had ever been in her life. Her hair was sun bleached (yes she was a natural blonde) and her dreads were slightly ratted from the last weeks travels. Reaching up she traced the tribal scar above her left eyebrow. Something she had to get once she and Lonnie joined.
Sighing she opened the mirror and found the First Aid kit. Grabbing it along with a brown leather sea bag she piled the clothes into it and ran downstairs after doing a quick sweep of the room and taking some hidden Euros she had found in the bureau.
Making sure she wasn’t being watched she ran full speed back up the hill and into the woods where she had left Jaeger watching over Lonnie and Axel.
Dropping down beside them she pulled the clothes out and handed them to Jaeger. “Put these on, and put this on Axel.” Turning back to her mate she felt a small twist of panic when she saw the way Lonnie was staring listlessly at the sky. She had gotten even paler and most of her bruises had faded to that gross yellow color.
Carefully she took off her mates skins and cradled her in one arm while pulling the sweats she had found for Lonnie onto her, gently avoiding the wound on her thigh. She tried not to cry when she heard her lover gasp in pain when she accidently brushed her ribs.
“Okay Jaeger, I know you’re tired but we need to go again. Do you think you can carry Axel for just a little while?” Relieved at the childs brave nod she bent down and picked up Lonnie in her arms after shouldering the bag.
Walking into the town she led them down the streets, looking back when she didn’t hear Jaeger walking anymore. The child was stopped and staring with her jaw open at a man across the street that was playing a guitar.
“Jaeger!” Buffy hissed, she knew all this must be scary and amazing to the children but right now she had to get Lonnie to a hospital and call Giles. ‘God I forgot about that.’
Turning down a street she walked up to a pair headed there way on the sidewalk.
“Hallo, umm…hospital bitte?” They stopped and looked at her confused until they took in the sight of Lonnie passed out in her arms. ‘Shit she’s asleep’ Jolting her awake with her elbow Buffy turned back to the pair.
“Americaner?” One asked, Buffy nodded frantically. The young man nodded.
“Nein hospital here. I take you. Come?” He turned and said something to his friend who nodded and went around Buffy and held out his hand to Jaeger.
Buffy nodded at the wide eyed look from her daughter. Watching as the man gently took her hand and she turned and followed them to his car. Normally she wouldn’t trust them but she had no choice but to chance it.
Looking down she held back tears when she saw how near death Lonnie looked. ‘Please don’t go’

~Same Day: Willow~
Jumping upright in bed Willow clutched at her heart gasping. Turning to Vikki she shook the slayer awake.
“Mmh what is it love?” Vikki rolled over and looked up at her girlfriend.
“Something’s happened! It…it felt like when all the slayers were called but…bigger!” Willow leapt from bed and ran to her dresser. She had to find out what it was. Vikki watched as the bouncing redhead disappeared through the doorway to there bedroom only to return a moment later, her arms laden with her ‘spelly stuff’ as Vikki called it.
“Come here I need you” Willow said without looking up as she arranged the atlas and what she was going to need for a locator spell.
“Normally im all for that kind of talk…okay im coming.” Standing Vikkie limped over to her lover. Wincing at the tightness in her knee. Ever since she broke it in the ‘Great Battle’ she had never been able to get rid of the limp.
Settling down beside the witch she waited for Willow to perform the spell. Smiling at the enthusiasm of the unknown on the witches face. She felt her irritation at being awoken at…looking over at the clock. Four in the morning slip away.
Willow felt the magic hum through her as she said the incantation and watched as the pendulum swirled around the map below her, as the pages whipped open until stopping and the pendulum stopped over the location of whatever it was that woke her.
Bending down she saw Germany and then…Black Forest. ‘No…Buffy?’ feeling irrational hope fill her Willow smiled. She had never told anyone but when Buffy had disappeared she had felt the connection she had to all the slayers, only she had ‘felt’ it when Buffy left.
Could she really be back? Standing up excitedly she tried to keep her happiness under control and jumped on Vikki causing the younger woman to fall backwards. Kissing her quickly she stood up again and ran out of her room and out the front door heading to the school where she kept the bulk of her equipment.
Vikki sighed as she watched her girlfriend run out of the house, obviously not caring that she was still in her yellow frog pajamas. Standing stiffly she went to follow the trail the witch had left.

Buffy sat stiffly in the European compact as the driver who was so obviously German if you were judging by driving alone went swerving and speeding down the autobahn and into the nearest city. Looking over at Jaeger who was clutching Axel…or Axel was clutching Jaeger, she didn’t know which. Looking over as they both had refused to climb into the seats and were curled around eachtohetr at the floor of the car.
Looking outside as the young man she had learned was named Andreas pulled into a round about and towards a building she saw with the universal Red Cross emblazoned on the entrance door. Letting out a sigh of relief she didn’t know she had been holding she waited for them to stop as Andreas and his brother Heinrich helped her pull Lonnie out of the car and she let Andreas lead her into the hospital after Heinrich managed to pry the two terrified children out from the car.
Walking into the calm lobby she saw the front desk and zeroed in on a small receptionist, heading straight for it she ignored the curious looks she got from the other people in the hospital. Once she reached the desk she realized she didn’t have a story…’shit’
Starting when she realized the receptionist was looking and speaking to her, “I don’t speak German.” ‘Okay that was about as American an answer as you could get’
“Oh…umm. You need a doctor, ja?”
Nodding she looked around hoping one would just appear.
“What is the problem?” Buffy felt her patience wear thin, it was pretty obvious that the barely conscious woman in her arms was the ‘problem’ “She’s hurt. Really bad. I think she is bleeding on the inside.”
The receptionist picked up her phone and made an announcement over the intercom, Buffy watched as two doctors strode into the lobby. They walked to the desk and turned to her after a few words with eh woman.
‘That’s it.’ Buffy internally snarled. “Dammit she needs surgery. I found her in the woods when I was hiking she’s hurt please just help her” She cursed herself softy when she looked down and saw Jaeger had Axel and was clutching her hoodie.
“Ja, we will help. What is her name?” One doctor, currently the one that Buffy was sure was an angel on earth.
“Lonnie…her name is Lonnie” Buffy turned and saw an orderly pushing out a stretcher, after she lay her mate on it and watched the doctors leave she collapsed, crying softly she pulled Jaeger and Axel against her and couldn’t hold back the tears that had been holding off since she had first seen her mate in that condition a week ago.
