OUTSIDE EXT. CAMP - LATER THAT NIGHT
Willow watched Evelyn and Rick, knowing what would happen. She closed her eyes as the magic began to build up. She listened to Evelyn's voice as she spoke the words that would bring Imhotep back, to kill, to try everything to get back his love.
"Listen to me Imhotep, I know that you will have to fulfill thrse,rse, but know that I will not let you hurt them." When she reopened her eyes they were black, ready for the things that were to come.
INT. IMHOTEP'S CHAMBER - NIGHT
Imhotep's rotten, twisted body still laid untouched in his coffin.
The ancient magic started to build around the still form, doing the work of the curse and then suddenly his crusty eyelids popped open!
Revealing empty sockets.
EXT. BASE CAMP - NIGHT
The Egyptologist bolted upright, quickly looking ar, he, he saw Evelyn reading the book.
He got up and ran for her," NO! NOOOO! YOU MUST NOT!"
He skidded to a stop as a strange, piercing whine could be heard, coming from out of the desert. Rick and the others all leapt to their feet. The Americans ran out of their tents.
The sound was getting louder and closer. And then from out of the darkness a huge wall of locusts swirled into the camp and enveloped everyone.
O'Connell grabbed Evelyn who screamed for Willow, but the witch was not to be seen, and with Jonathan at their side the three raced for the crevice, trying to hold off the horrid vermin.
Beni and the Americans ran for the temple, while the Egyptologist was covered in locusts. He stared at the book , his eyes haunted, "What have we done?"
The campfire was sucked up into the air, looking like a little burning tornado.
INT. LABYRINTH CORRIDOR - NIGHT
Rick, Evelyn and Jonathan raced down the labyrinth, slapping at themselves and picking locusts out of their hair.
"Did you see that!? Grasshoppers! Billions of grasshoppers!" Jonathas nos not thinking as he slapped onto his head to stop the crawling, what squashed the insect.
"That's one of the plagues, right? The grasshopper plague!"
"This is not a plague. It's generational. Every so many years the locusts of Egypt have a population explosion and they all take ht.\ht." Evelyn stepped forward, something squished. O'Connell lowered his torch, the entire floor was filled with slimy frogs.
"Okay, ....and what about frogs?"
Everybody jumped as they heard Willow say, "Ugly, slimy, disgusting little things, but we don't have time for this."
INT. LABYRINTH PASSAGEWAY - NIGHT
The Americans, Beni and the Diggers raced into a passageway. Burns was knocked down, his bifocals skittered across the ground and were crushed in the stampede. Burns staggered to his feet, squinting. All he could see were blurry figures that vanished into the darkness, "Daniels! Henderson!"
INT. LABYRINTH CORRIDOR - NIGHT
The ground under the four started to shake and then suddenly, right in front of them, hundreds of chittering scarab beetles boiled up out of the sand, to start scurrying towards them.
Evelyn screamed.
Jonathan screamed.
Even O'Cll sll screamed while Willow cursed and then they all turned around and ran for their lives.
INT. PASSAGEWAY - NIGHT
Burns staggered down a passageway, squinting, his hands out in front of him, groping trying not to bump into anything. Then ten feet in front of him, a dark, blurry figure stepped out.
"Daniels? Is that you?"
Burns half blindly staggered forward, as the figure didn't moved.
"Henderson?"
Burns tripped, stumbled forward, towards the figure, his hands reached out and sank into Imhotep's putrid chest cavity. Burns jumped back like a scalded cat, pulled his hands out and looked at them, his hands were covered in molten rotted flesh.
He started to scream, but was stopped as a skeletal hand clamped over his mouth.
LABYRINTH STAIRCASE - NIGHT
The group was still running as they arrived at the staircase, not thinking they started to race upwards. Right behind them the mass of scurrying, chittering scarabs.
Rick leaped out onto a pedestal. Jonathan jumped up next to him. The women jumped onto a grotto on the other side of the narrow stairway.
The horrible herd of vicious beetles scurried between them, their ear piercing cries sent shivers up everyone's spine. Evelyn leaned back.
The wall moved.
Evelyn grabbed Willow's arm and so both fell backwards through the opening. Unseen to Jonathan and Rick who still watched the scarabs that vanished up the staircase.
Then they looked across the way only to not find what they were looking for. Evelyn and Willow were gone.
SCARAB CHAMBER NIGHT
Willow helped Evey to sit up, the woman shook the sand out of her hair, fearfully she looked around. It was almost pitch black. She got up and holding with one hand onto her friend, with the other hand she felt her way along the dark walls.
They rounded a corner, where a shaft of moonlight filtered in through a crack in the ceiling.
A man was standing in the middle of the room. Evelyn let go of Willows hand and walked over towards him, "Oh thanks goodness, you're one of the Americans, aren't you?"
Just as she reached him he turned around.
It was Burns.
Both of his eyes were missing.
He stared at her with vacant sockets.
Evey screamed in horror and backed away, hyperventilating she watched as Willow walked over to the man and whispered something in his ear, cuddling his head like a loving mother.
She made a few more steps backwards and bumped into something.
The woman turned around.
It was Imhotep.
With two fresh eyeballs in his sockets.
Again she wanted to scream but found herself unable to do so. So she backed away even more running into a wall. Her hair was down. Her face dirty and sweaty. Her blouse ripped like the rest of her torn dress. She tried to look past him her only hope her friend.
Imhotep squinted, " Anck-su-namun?"
LABYRINTH STAIRCASE - NIGHT
O'Connell was feeling his way around inside the grotto," Dammit! Must be a trap door around here or something'."
They heard men screaming, and suddenly, Henderson, Daniels and one of the diggers came running down the stairs.
"RUN, YOU SONS-A-BITCHES! RUUUUN!"
Both men joint them as they heard the herd of chittering scarabs coming their way.
The digger suddenly tripped and fell. Rick slowed down, he was about to go back and help him. But it was already too late. The digger screamed in horror as the herd of scarabs ran over him, eating straight through him, leaving behind the digger's half eaten skeleton.
Daniels, Henderson and Jonathan reacted in horror. O'Connell was already running, racing right past them, the others turned and hauled ass.
