Spike woke up to the blaring of the alarm clock he had set. Rolling over, he shut it off and reluctantly got up out of bed. It was the first time in a very long time that he slept in an actual bed and he had slept like the dead. After freshening up in the bathroom and looking through the drawers for something to wear for the day he exited his room and walked into the kitchen.

Xander was sitting in the kitchen chair and looked up at Spike when he walked in. A bright smile lit up his face as he patted a chair beside him.

"Here ya go. I made pancakes, sausage, bacon, eggs, hash-browns, and biscuits and gravy. Just make sure not to eat too much, and pace yourself." He looked down with a frown, "I'm sorry. I don't mean to be such a mother hen."

Spike laughed and sat down, "It's okay, Xan. It's nice to have someone try to take care of me. Haven't had that since me mum died." He grabbed a plate and filled it up with food before digging in. "This is really good, pet," he said around a mouthful.

Xander blushed, "Thanks. Well, let me tell you a little about the donut shop. It's mostly busy in the morning for people to have breakfast, or for to-go orders. During the rest of the day it is pretty calm, but some people prefer their sugar rush foods later in the day." He grinned at the blonde. "You will probably be doing more cashier and stocking the items in the store. But after a while of working there I will show you how to make donuts." He waggled his brows excitedly. "It is so fun. I am always trying to make new things for people to try, and if they like them I will write down the recipe. But if people think they taste gross I just find ways to make it better." He stared off as he kept talking, "I never give up on a recipe. You can always make something better than before." He shook his head and blushed, "I tend to go off into space every now and then. So what do you think?"

Spike smiled brightly and couldn't help but ruffle Xander's hair. "Sounds good, pet," he said as he got up and started to help clean up after breakfast.

Later, when they were on their way to the donut shop, Spike started to feel nervous. He hadn’t had a job since he was a teenager, and he ended up getting fired from that. Trying his best to hide his fear from Xander, he walked ahead and held the door open for his friend.

Xander laughed, "Well thank you, kind sir." He rolled in and started to point to everything and explaining it all to Spike. "That's my favorite jelly filled donut, ooh that is my other favorite Bavarian crème donut. Ohh! There's my favorite friend Wesley." He grinned cheekily as Wes reached over and lightly smacked his head.

"You goof ball. Who's the new guy?" Wes asked nicely.

"This is Spike. He is gonna start working here, and he is staying at my place."

Wesley smiled and nodded, "It's nice to meet you, Spike. I'm Wesley, Xander's friend." He reached over to shake Spike's hand.

Spike shook Wesley's hand and, noticing Wesley's accent, wondered if Xander had a thing for guys with English accents.

Following Xander into the back, he was handed an apron and given his first task of cleaning the kitchen. Once he was there the panic he felt before finally started to go away and he began to relax.

Xander couldn't hide his smile as he watched Spike clean the kitchen. He wheeled into the shop area and nodded at a few regular customers.

"Do you have enough donuts for now Wes, or do you want me to start another batch?"

Wesley looked down at the glass cases filled with donuts and shook his head, "No, we’re good for now. By the way, you have another meeting tonight. I heard that the new girl is about 8 years old and became blind from a firework her brother threw at her. Poor girl was glad when she realized there were people that could understand her."

Xander nodded, "Yeah. I might head over early at about 4pm and talk to her for a bit before the group session." He wheeled into the kitchen and addressed Spike, "Great job! You did better than I usually do."

Spike smiled, proud of his work. He wanted to make this arrangement with Xander work, so he had cleaned as best he could, which turned out the be pretty good. He put down the rag he was using, "Was there anything else you wanted me to do?"

Xander smiled as he shook his head, "Nope. I am planning on going to a meeting if you want to go also. Only if you want," he rushed. "It's a meeting for disabled people. Most of them are new to it, that is why me and another friend talk to them, tell, or show it to 'em."

"Eh, I don't know, pet. I might just go back to the apartment or something," Spike shrugged, figuring he wouldn't exactly be welcomed at a disabled person meeting, not being disabled and all.

Xander reached over and touched Spike's shoulder. "Nobody is stupid enough to be mean to you... they might just be nervous that you might make fun of them." He shrugged, "But I won't force you to go. I usually go to these meetings five times a week. Weekends I just come here till 3pm, close, then go home for a lazy afternoon," he grinned, nudging Spike.

Spike thought it over for a minute before he nodded, "Sure, I'll go."

~.~.~.~

Later that day they entered the rec center and Spike stuck to Xander's side nervously. He eyed a man wearily as he looked up, spotted Xander, and ran over, giving his friend a hug.

Xander smiled, "Hey Daniel. This is my friend Spike." He signed as he then pointed to the blonde that was almost attached to his side. His eyes were alight with pleasure as he looked up into Spike's face. "He is deaf, so I learned how to sign. And we became best pals."

Daniel held out his hand to shake with Xander's new friend.

Spike shook hands with the deaf man and said hi, figuring Daniel could read lips.

The three of them went deeper into the center and Spike was introduced to all sorts of people, staying by Xander's side the whole time.

A little girl finally walked up to Xander, a small cane leading the way. "I'm Madeline."

"Hello Madeline. I'm Xander. There is a blonde man named Spike beside me too. Just so you don't get confused," Xander smiled as he grabbed her hand gently and shook it.

She smiled a little and reached over towards Spike. "Can I shake your hand too?"

"Yeah, sure," Spike said as he shook the little girls hand gently.

Xander smiled, "Why don't you go sit down towards the right of us."

Madeline nodded and walked around to find an empty seat.

A half an hour later Xander shook hands with everyone as they left. Daniel was across from him, doing the same.

"Did you enjoy it Spike?"

"Yeah. It was interesting," Spike nodded and smiled down at Xander and felt his heart give a small lurch.

Daniel walked over and smiled his own smile when he saw the way Spike looked at Xander. Deciding not to bring it up, he just signed to his friend about how the meeting went.

"So what are you two up to now?" he signed to Xander.

Xander gave a small shrug, "I don't know. Wanna head over to the shop and hang out with Wesley, so we can give him a little break?" He hand an inkling that there might be something between Wes and the sweet Daniel, but he never asked. "You wanna head back there, Spike?"

Spike shrugged and followed the two as they started to leave, "Sure, sounds good."

When they got to the shop, Daniel ignored all the customers and, with a bright smile on his face, ran, jumped over the counter, and hugged Wesley tightly.

Wesley squeaked, but then laughed and hugged Daniel back. "How are you?"

Xander laughed and reached over to touch Spike's arm. "Want me to show you the register?" He blushed as he looked away from Spike, and wheeled over to the counter.

Spike followed Xander over to the register and half listened as his friend explained how to use it, busy observing Wesley and Daniel.

Still smiling, Daniel animatedly signed to Wesley all about his day.

Wesley smiled the whole time and grabbed Daniel and pulled him over to a small table to sit at.

Xander looked over and chuckled when he saw Spike trying to watch his new friends. "Are you enjoying yourself?" he laughed as he poked Spike's side.

Spike blushed lightly at being caught and smiled. "Looks like they like each other. They going out?" he asked Xander.

Xander grinned, "Nope, they are both too nervous to ask each other. Wesley wants Daniel to ask, and Daniel wants Wes to ask. But they still hang out all the time. Wanna give them a push towards each other?" His eyes lit up evilly. "How about one of us hits on Wesley... making Daniel jealous."

"Oh, pet, you are evil!" Spike laughed and agreed to be the one to do it. He sauntered over to Wesley and placed a hand on his thigh, leaning over to whisper something in his ear. "You're pretty good looking, you know that, Wes?"

Xander had to cover his mouth as he wheeled his chair over to Daniel and crossed his arms, trying to look jealous himself.

Wesley blushed and looked over to Daniel, then at Spike. "Thank you, Spike. You’re not too bad yourself."

Spike smiled when he saw the look the two other men were giving him, but kept his focus on Wesley. "So what say you we go somewhere just the two of us after work?" he asked and licked his lips.

Daniel’s jealous look turned to one of pain at the thought of Wesley accepting.

Xander sighed as he rolled over to the register and helped the customers.

Wesley bit his lip, "I-I don't know." He looked at Daniel sadly, "How about I give you an answer in a bit, alright?"

"Sure, but don’t make me wait too long, luv," Spike said before winking and walking back over to help Xander with the customer.

Daniel let his gaze fall to the table, sad that Wesley was even thinking about going out with Spike.

Xander smiled at Spike. "Hope it worked," he whispered to him softly, his eyes glancing at the hopefully soon to be new couple.

Wesley sighed and then signed angrily, "Do you even like me?" His eyes showing how sad he was.

Daniel looked angry as he answered, "Of course I like you! I've liked you since the day Xander introduced us! I've been waiting for you to ask me out since then, too!"

Wesley let out a loud laugh and smacked Daniel on the arm. "I have been waiting for you to ask me twit!" He rolled his eyes as he grabbed Daniel and pulled him into a deep kiss. "You’re an idiot, but you’re my idiot," he signed, a grin on his face.

Daniel quickly sealed their lips back together, smiling through the kiss.

"I guess it worked," Spike snorted as he pointed to the now making out couple. "Ah love. How disgustingly cute."

Xander looked at Spike worriedly, "Oh... so you don't want to date someone yourself?" he asked as if he wasn't really interested, which was a total lie.

Spike shrugged and continued to watch Daniel and Wesley act like lovesick puppies. "I guess I wouldn't mind dating someone if I really liked them." He then looked down at Xander, curious, "What about you, pet?"

Xander nodded, "Yeah, I feel the same way. And to have someone that doesn't care that I am... disabled." He looked up at Spike with a grin, "Do you like it here so far?"

Spike grinned, "Yeah, I surprisingly do. I need to think of a way to pay you back, pet. You really helped me out," he said and patted Xander on the shoulder. He looked back up and saw Daniel give Wesley a kiss goodbye before leaving the store with a bounce in his step.

Xander laughed as Wesley walked over to them in a daze.

"You okay Wesley?" At the nod he looked at Spike, "Wanna know his two last names?" Before he could say anything Wesley jumped at him and covered his mouth.

Wes pouted, "I was in a euphoric daze… I was so... happy, I felt like being stuck there forever," he whispered.

Spike eyed the two strangely before they all got back to work. After closing the shop he and Xander said goodnight to Wesley and headed back to the apartment.

"You know, pet, I'm going to need some clothes if I'm going to be working there. I think these were the only clothes you had in those drawers that fit me."

Xander scoffed, "You don't need clothes! Just walk around naked," he joked. He smiled innocently then he sighed, "We will go to a store tomorrow and get you some. Is that okay?" He rolled over to the couch and hopped out of his chair and onto his comfy couch.

"Yeah, that's fine," Spike said as he plopped down on the couch next to Xander. He grabbed the remote before Xander could and started to flick through the channels, looking for something good to watch. "Anything you wanna watch, pet?" he asked when he didn't find anything that stuck out to him.

Xander looked at Spike then leaned forward and kissed the blonde's cheek. "Nah, but thank you for asking. I will just enjoy the view." He grinned while still watching Spike.

Spike blushed when Xander kissed him and, not knowing what else to do, continued to flick through the channels. He finally settled on watching Spongebob, trying to figure out what kids found so entertaining about it. After a few minutes he noticed Xander watching him still so he cautiously asked, "What?"

Xander gave a small frown and looked away while shaking his head, "Nothing." He watched the show with disinterest. After a few minutes he yawned, "I am gonna head to bed I guess," he sighed. Xander grabbed onto his wheelchair and climbed into it, then rolled to his bedroom.

Knowing something was wrong, Spike followed Xander into the man's bedroom. "Okay, what's going on?" he demanded an answer, sitting on the bed and refusing to move.

Xander looked away and took off his shirt, while in his wheelchair, something he had never done before.

"I kissed you and you ignored me!" he felt so ashamed he was acting like a girl, but he had to get it off his chest, and well... because Spike wouldn't get off of his bed.

"You kissed my cheek!" Spike yelled and jumped up from the bed to pace around the room. "I figured you were doing it in a friendly manner! Not in a 'I want you' kinda way!"

Xander looked down, "Well, it was in both ways," he whispered, "If you don't want me to do it again, I understand."

"I didn't say that," Spike said as he walked over and leaned down to kiss Xander lightly on the lips, simply testing to see what the other would do.

Xander shut his eyes and slowly opened his mouth to taste Spike. At the first taste he groaned and wrapped his arms around Spike's shoulders and deepened the kiss.

Spike kissed back until his back started to bother him from bending over. He reluctantly pulled away and smiled at Xander. "Sorry, pet, but if we want to continue this we will have to move to a more comfortable area."

Xander looked down where his non-existent erection should be. "Umm... maybe… maybe we can finish this another time. It's getting really late." He turned away from Spike.

Spike could tell that something was wrong, but he could also tell that Xander wanted to be alone, so he nodded his head and kissed him on the cheek goodnight.

"Night, pet. See you in the morning," he said as he left the room and went to his own.

Xander started to hit his own legs. "Why can't you just feel something?!" He started to cry and he flopped onto his bed. He reached down and started to masturbate, wanting to get himself hard for once. After a little why he growled to himself and gave up. But when he was almost a sleep, he didn't see or feel his cock actually twitch.
