Embracing the Dawn
As night falls away giving birth to the dawn, the shadows - his safe haven - have all but disappeared. The light from the early morning rays breech the easterly window and he watches with momentary interest as the dust motes dance suspended in midair.
On reflex he extends his hand, reaching for the forbidden, disrupting the stagnant air causing the dust motes to dance like pixies on the wind. So caught up in the sight before him, he suffers a moment of deja vu when the second hand joins his in the test of faith.
This time... there is no pain.
