Chapter 1: Chasing a Dream

Buffy closed the case of her guitar case, and slid her journal into its little hiding place. Glancing around to make sure she hadn’t left anything her gaze moved over the dressing room area at the back of the bronze. It wasn’t anything fancy just a place to get ready, and wait before it was time to hit the stage.

The rest of the band left the stage after their set, and immediately went to get drinks. Buffy took a few minutes to make a few notes on their performance highlighting a few things she felt they could change to make their performance better the next time around. It was something she had done since they first formed the band, and it helped keep things fresh.

Despite the crowds it was easy to spot her friends and band mates because they sat in the exact same place every time they came to the Bronze. The band was made up of Buffy, Xander, Oz, Tara, and Angel. They were the core group and each of them brought someone into their click expanding their circle of friends over the years. Xander brought his sister Faith. Oz was brought into the group when he started dating Willow Buffy’s best-friend and joined the band. Tara brought her brother Spike and his on and off girlfriend Dru. Angel’s contribution to the group was his fiancée Darla.

Nearing the group she couldn’t fight the feeling that always overcame her sometimes that she was the odd man out. When she wasn’t with the band she was either at school, work, or working on her music. Leaving very little time for anything else, especially dating. Buffy’s aversion to dating stemmed from the wonderfully dysfunctional example set by her parents, making her a little wary in that department. Relationships and Buffy just didn’t mesh well, she tried it once with Scott Hope and sure enough after a little kissing and groping he confessed that he was gay. Oddly enough they were still friends.

Music was the one constant in her life, and it wasn’t a hobby or something she did for fun. It was more than just something she did it was a part of who she was, and that was something none of the other members of the band could understand. They were all starting to slip away from one and other and they didn’t even seem to notice it. Everyone was looking toward their individual futures, none of them moving in the same direction. Soon enough they would all be in college and the band would fade away.

After graduation they were all going to attend UC Sunnydale together. They all received their acceptance letters and registered well everyone except for Buffy. Not that she hadn’t been accepted that hadn’t been the problem she just knew if she filled out that application and went to UC Sunnydale that the odds were she would never get out of Sunnydale and in the blink of an eye her dreams would become a bitter memory.

“Lose your way, pet.” A soft and very familiar accented voice cut through her thoughts.

“Just going to get a drink,” Buffy replied glancing over at Spike who was currently sporting a very vivid blue hair color that actually went well with the punk look. A few weeks ago it was blood red, his color changed almost as much as he and Dru broke up and got back together.

“Something bothering you, pet?” Buffy marveled at the color of his eyes the blue hair made them look all that much more vivid. Several times she heard girls at their school talking about his eyes and they were right you could drown in them.

Spike was Tara’s step-brother, his mother Jenny and Tara’s dad Giles moved to Sunnydale their freshman year and Tara befriended Willow and became part of the band. Spike had transferred in as a senior and made himself quite a legend at their school in a very short period of time and also was friends with Angel who had been in his class. Spike was a musician himself but was more into punk than their brand of music and had a band of his own.

“No, just tired, nice hair by the way,” Buffy lied flashing him one of her small smiles as she headed toward the bar.

“You were amazing tonight, and thanks.” Spike smirked following her while he enjoyed the view. Buffy was one of those people that everyone knows at sometime in their life that just had that illusive something that made everyone want to be near them. Damn near perfect and the most amazing thing was she didn’t even seem aware of it. Throw in the fact that she was bloody gorgeous, and could actually sing she was the perfect package. Too bloody perfect to be honest/

From the very first moment they met he knew that this town was too small to contain her, it was one of many reasons he had never acted on the attraction he felt for the luscious blond. He didn’t want to be the one left behind, and he certainly didn’t want to be the thing that held her back from her dreams. Then there was the kicker she was one of Tara’s closest friends and it really wasn’t a good idea to date your little sister’s friends no matter how appealing.

“So where is Dru?” Buffy asked not seeing her among the crowd.

“Were taking a break,” Spike replied glancing out at the crowd.

Buffy rolled her eyes taking a break meant that one or the both of them were having a fling with someone else. “Why don’t you just break up for good and find yourself someone who isn’t a nut job?” Buffy asked picking up her drink and taking a sip.

Spike tossed a few bills onto the bar and smirked. “Now that wouldn’t be any fun now would it.” Dru could be quite the nut job. One moment she was happy to be screwing someone else the next she was jealous if he even looked at anyone for more than a second.

“So who are you seeing at the moment?” Buffy asked softly not really wanting to know but morbidly curious. Since the moment she met him she had fallen hard. It had been hard to watch him fall for Dru so quickly and know she didn’t have a chance.

“No one special,” Spike leaned back against the bar his gaze sweeping the dance floor falling on Harmony Kendal who was doing her best to be noticed. The blond was wearing a barely there dress, breasts barley covered, and black leather come fuck me boots.

Buffy glanced up over Spike’s features as he lifted his drink to his lips. Turning toward him slightly she glanced in the general direction he was looking and couldn’t miss Harmony Kendall on the dance floor.

Spike had a bad boy reputation and he lived up to it, and was very popular with the women in Sunnydale. So while she had a crush on him for the past few years she didn’t harbor any illusions about ever really getting involved with Spike. She defiantly didn’t want to become another casualty in between Spike and Dru’s little breaks.

Spike glanced back at Buffy and watching her gaze slide back to his he felt uncomfortable for a moment he covered it with one of his wicked grins.

“You are unbelievable.” Buffy said and picked up her drink and began to thread her way through the crowd.

Spike’s gaze slid over her body enjoying the view once again since it was all he could do where she was concerned. Spike’s gaze slid back to Harmony who was watching him. The blond tart had been after him for sometime he wasn’t even going to have to put forth any effort to get her to come home with him. Spike finished off his beer and headed onto the dance floor.

Buffy didn’t join the group right away she was in a funky mood and wasn’t sure what was bothering her. Moving through the crowd she made her way up to the balcony level of the club just watching the crowd. It was hard not to spot Spike and Harmony practically fucking on the floor, after a few minutes Spike took Harmony’s hand and led her out of the club.

“Hey kid.” Whistler had stood in the shadows for a moment getting a feel for the girl. “Great show.”
Buffy glanced up to see a little guy wearing a hat and an outfit that defiantly wasn’t the norm at the bronze.

“Thanks.” Buffy replied standing up straight resting a hand on the railing, “I don’t think I’ve seen you before.”

“No it’s my first time here, nice little club though.” Whistler sighed leaning on the railing.

“Yeah,” Buffy replied keeping her gaze on the strange little guy.

“You don’t belong here.” Whistler kept his gaze on the crowd as he continued. “Your band there good but they aren’t good enough to get you anywhere but here.” Whistler pulled his card out of his pocket handing it over. “I work for Slayer Records, were interested in you.”

Buffy glanced at the card not convinced that this strange little fellow was a rep for one of the biggest record companies in the World. Probably just another pervert trying to get into her pants, it wasn’t the first time she heard this line and she was certain it wouldn’t be the last.

Whistler smiled, he shook his head she wasn’t going to be easy which was a good thing for her sake, this business chewed up gullible little girls up and spat them out. “You can call the label if you like check me out. Once you do give me a call we’ll take it from there.”

“If I don’t call,” Buffy asked as he walked away.

“It’s up to you. Just remember we want you not the band.” Whistler headed down the stairs pulling out his phone.

“Yes?” Wesley asked he had been waiting for a call for sometime.

“I gave her my card I give her a day or two and she will give me a ring.” Whistler walked out of the club walking toward the car waiting for him the driver got out and opened the door for him.

“How certain are you.” Wesley asked things were already in motion he had some of his best producers listening the tape that was sent in.

“99%, she wants it just has to break those ties.” Whistler settled into the back of the car. “I am going to stay in Sunnydale till she calls then I will have her on your doorstep soon after.”

Whistler poured himself a drink as they headed back to the hotel. Tired and road weary he was glad to have a day or two to just chill out in a hotel room.

Buffy slipped the card into her back pocket, and headed down the stairs. A seat was open next to Angel so she slid into it ignoring the look Darla sent her way. Darla was defiantly the jealous type it didn’t help that Angel liked to flirt.

“Who was the guy?” Angel asked, he had noticed the guy follow Buffy upstairs.

“No one he said he was from a record company.” Buffy replied giving him a shrug.

Angel shook his head chuckling softly guys tried that line on Buffy all the time.

“Which one,” Willow asked jumping into their conversation.

“Slayer Records,” Buffy replied rolling her eyes sipping her drink. Though she had dismissed him at first she was itching to take another look at the card.

“Didn’t Cordy send a demo tape into Slayer Records?” Willow asked her head swiveling toward Xander. “You don’t think he could really be from the label?”

“Get real Willow, it’s just another guy trying to get into Buffy’s pants.” Xander cut in hating it when anyone mentioned his ex his gaze sliding to Buffy. Every guy including him was trying to get into Buffy Summers pants and she was completely oblivious. He joined the band hoping it would get him closer to the goal only to learn that she wasn’t interested in anything but being friends.
Dumb luck landed his childhood crush into his lap and he and Cordy started dating. His attraction to Buffy, her finding him kissing Willow, and his lack of drive broke them up. Xander’s gaze found his ex with her click as she chatted up some college guy. Cordy had enjoyed making his life hell before they dated after their break up she took pleasure in making his life a nightmare.

“You say that like you don’t think we’re good enough.” Buffy replied meeting Xander’s gaze.

Xander rolled his eyes. “Not all of us are living in the clouds some of us have to live in reality we play at the bronze on the weekends we aren’t going to magically get discovered and find ourselves on the cover of rolling stone.”

Buffy glared at Xander. “I am good enough.”

“I didn’t say you weren’t, but a rep from Slayer Records strolling up to you and wanting to sign the band isn’t going to happen.” Xander replied harshly he knew they were good they just weren’t that good.

Buffy was pissed, you could always count on Xander to shit all over your dreams and cut you down.

“He didn’t want to sign the band he wanted to sign just me.” It slipped out she hadn’t meant to say it, it just popped out.

Xander snorted a smirk crossing his lips. “Like I said he was just some loser with a printer at home trying to get into your pants.”

Buffy got up and stormed off, and they all just watched her go. “You think someone should go after her?” Willow asked.

“Way to go Xander, you really know how to charm a girl.” Angel sighed.

“What, it’s what we were all thinking.” Xander growled and got up going to get himself another drink. He was tired of it tired of her dream and pushing them to be better, play better because they were never going to get any better. At the beginning he started to believe it that they would make it until he realized that he didn’t have what it took to make it, but she did. The moment he came to that realization he started to hate her just a little because he knew where his life was headed and it ended here in Sunnydale.

Buffy stormed outside and bumped right into Cordy.

Cordy bit back a cutting remark she had ready for the blonde who had always stood between her and Xander. One look at Buffy and she knew now was not the time. Though she was like a dog with a bone it wasn’t Buffy who broke them up.

“Are you alright?” Cordy asked actually concerned. While she dated the idiot she had gotten to know Buffy and actually liked Buffy. Their budding friendship had been severed when she broke up with Xander, and Cordy found herself missing it.

“Yes, no,” Buffy sighed leaning herself back against the wall of the alleyway, “God I hate him sometimes.”

“Let me guess Xander.” Cordy raised a brow and sighed at Buffy’s nod. That was one thing they had in common at the moment. “What did he do this time?”

“This guy came up to me tonight and gave me his card and said he was from a record company.” Buffy began and at Cordy’s look Buffy sighed. “I know, but as soon as I mention it Xander’s first words are he’s just some guy trying to get into your pants. Then he said I was living in the clouds and needed to step into reality.”

Cordy couldn’t believe the things that came out of his mouth. “You know it’s probably true about this guy what are the odds a million too one.” Cordy gave Buffy as smile and leaned against the wall next to her.

“It’s not the guy it’s the way, Xander just automatically assumes that it isn’t going to happen our break that is.” Buffy sighed.

Cordy chewed on her lower lip for a moment then decided to be honest. “Its not,” Cordy replied softly not surprised when angry green eyes flashed at her in the dimly lit alleyway.

“Not here in Sunnydale. Not playing at the Bronze or some other place just like it every weekend. You are going to have to make it happen.” Cordy smiled. “You are good enough, I hate to admit it but you are amazing when you’re on the stage. I think Xander tears down your dream because he jealous because he might be good but he’s not in your league and he knows it.”

Buffy smiled softly reaching into her back pocket and pulled out the card. “I guess I can throw this away.”

Cordy reached out and snagged the card. “So he hit on you?” Cordy asked.

“No he just said that he wanted to sign me not the band.” Buffy sighed though something about the guy bothered her maybe the fact that he hadn’t gone to a lot of trouble playing the part.

Cordy glanced down at the card then back at Buffy. “What?”

“Well, he wasn’t like the other guys in their slick clothes, and grabby hands. He didn’t fit in at the bronze and he didn’t hit on me at all come to think of it.” Buffy pushed off the wall.

“Then lets check him out we’ll keep it to ourselves. He could be a pervert so I will go with you when you meet him to make sure everything is on the up and up.” Cordy sighed. “We’ll call the label and find out first if I guy name Whistler works there, then well take it from there.” Cordy took her hand and led her toward her sports car.

Buffy let Cordy drag her along. “Don’t worry about your stuff Angel or Oz will pick it up.” Cordy smiled shoving the petite blonde into her car. Cordelia Chase was on a mission in part because beneath all her snide remarks she liked Buffy on the other hand it was another way to prove Xander Harris wrong.

2 days later……..

Xander sighed as they wrapped up practice, this was getting old the practice the constant fine tuning. Oz and Buffy were into this shit he was into it for the chicks, and well because he had a crush on Buffy.
Xander almost did a double take when the door opened to Buffy’s garage and Cordelia Chase strolled in. A deadly glare was sent his way as she sauntered into the room. He watched her flash Angel a killer smile.

“You ready?” Cordy asked stopping by Buffy who was setting her things aside.

“Yeah, were all done for the day,” Buffy set her guitar in its stand they used her garage for practice.

“You two are hanging out?” Xander asked a little pissed that Buffy who was meant to be his friend was hanging out with his Ex.

“Yes we are.” Cordy snapped daring him to say anything more.

Angel chuckled as Cordy hustled Buffy out of the room. “That can’t be good.”

“I didn’t think they were talking.” Xander replied.

“On and off here and there,” Oz cut in. “They were actually getting close before you two broke up Willow was a little upset at the time they were spending together. She thought Cordy was stealing her best friend.”

“Cordy and Buffy best friend’s that is defiantly not going to happen.” Angel sighed as Darla walked into the room. Lately she had been becoming clingy as the start of their freshman year at college drew closer.

“Was that Buffy and Cordy that just walked out?” Darla asked surprised.

“Yes.” Angel leaning forward and brushing his lips across hers softly, he loved of course but he wasn’t sure if he was in love with her.

“Probably just trying to get to you,” Darla smiled a wicked little smile Xander’s way. “You know because you’re in love with Buffy and all.”

“Fuck you.” Xander growled getting up from the drums and tossing his sticks aside storming out of the garage.

Angel rolled his eyes at the wide innocent look Darla gave him. “Was it something I said?” She asked.

“I’m out of here.” Oz sighed he had hoped the guys might want to go get a bite to eat. Tara had to skip practice because she changed shifts with someone so she could get Friday off.

“See you later.” Angel sighed glancing over at his girlfriend. “Why do you have to do that?” He asked.

“What?” Darla asked smiling as she ran her hands up his chest.

“Start trouble?” Angel asked as she pressed herself up against him.

“Because I can,” Darla smiled capturing Angel’s lips. Angel slid his arms around her waist taking over the kiss and parting her soft lips with his own.

“Such a bad girl,” Angel whispered against her lips.

“And you love it.” Darla ran her tongue along his lower lip gently capturing his lower lip with her teeth. She knew exactly how to get Angel, she knew exactly what and who he wanted and why he couldn’t have them. Angel ran his hands down her slender hips his hands moving down along her backside his hands curling around her nice firm ass.

“I thought maybe we could play a game that’s why I ran everyone out.” Darla smiled and pushed Angel away slightly moving past him she stopped in front of Buffy’s microphone. “You could be you, and I can be anyone you want me to be, anyone at all.” Darla smiled gripping the microphone.

A smile crossed Angel’s lips, and he decided he wanted to play.

Buffy glanced over at Cordy as they pulled up outside the hotel. They were meeting Whistler in the restaurant in the lobby. The hotel was the closest thing to a 5 star hotel in town.
“What if it turns out he’s just a creep, using that guy’s name at the label.” Buffy asked softly.

“Could be but we aren’t going to find out sitting here, and if he is the plans simple we leave.” Cordy smiled and stepped out of her car handing the keys to the Valet. The days of her having the sports car were numbered no one knew yet but her dad lost all their money. All their money included Cordelia’s tuition to school. Come fall she would still be here in Sunnydale working at some store in the mall while everyone passed her by. Right now helping Buffy was keeping her mind off her troubles.

Cordy caught Buffy’s arm linking it through her own. “I have never understood how you could have such presence on stage and be such a mouse off it.”

“I am not a mouse.” Buffy replied glaring at the brunette.

Cordy smiled sometimes it was too easy to get Buffy’s back up, smiling at the hostess at the restaurant. “We are meeting someone our reservation should be under Whistler.”

“Yes, right this way.” The hostess smiled leading the way, a little though wandering through her mind wondering exactly who the little guy was to have two very hot young women meeting him for supper. All she knew was he was staying in their suite, and had availed himself of the spa and every other luxury the hotel could provide.

“Your party sir,” the hostess smiled he was also a great tipper.

“Thank you I am Whistler,” Whistler stood up his gaze sweeping over the brunette she was gorgeous he wondered if she had ever thought about acting or modeling.

“Cordelia Chase, I am Buffy’s friend.” Cordy smiled after introducing herself she settled into a chair.

Whistler’s gaze fell on Buffy she wore very little makeup and was still breathtaking. “Buffy, I am glad you called I was getting worried though I have to thank you for two days of luxury at the label’s expense.”

Whistler waited till she was seated then sat down himself. “I am glad you brought a friend it makes things easier. I know what you must be thinking that I might be a pervert. I don’t think I am but it depends on who you ask.” Whistler smiled. “My boss heard a demo tape someone sent in a few months ago it was unsolicited so normally it would have been junked but it got mixed in with some of his things and he loved it. So I was sent out to see if you had the whole package.” Whistler motioned to the waitress. “Would you like a drink they have wonderful smoothies here?”

“A smoothie would be fine” Buffy responded and Cordelia nodded her agreement.

“Two of those fruit smoothies, and a scotch on the rocks,” Whistler ordered pulling a pair of tickets out of his pocket. “We would like you to come to LA for a meeting and so my boss can hear you sing in person see if you’re exactly what he’s looking for.” Whistler placed the tickets on the table. “You can see what we have to offer if you don’t like it you can leave anytime you like. I booked you rooms at a 5 star hotel so you and who ever you bring can enjoy all the amenities when you’re not at the studio.”

Buffy glanced at the tickets. “I don’t know what to say.” Buffy replied.

Whistler smiled. “You don’t have to say anything you just have to get on the plane in the morning.”

Buffy glanced up gently biting her lower lip surprised. “In the morning, that’s a little soon.”

“An opportunity like this doesn’t come up everyday.” Whistler had known the usual routine wasn’t going to work with this one. “You decide you either show up for the flight or you don’t its up to you.”

Cordy kept quiet as Whistler explained a little more about the studio and the plans for while Buffy was in LA. One thing was certain Buffy was getting on that plane even if she had to drag her on it herself.

“I have to call Willow.” Buffy breathed as they drove past familiar sights.

“No you don’t.” Cordy sighed. “Think about it if you tell them they are just going to try to talk you out of it. The label wants you not them Whistler was very clear about that.” Cordy pulled over. Unsnapping her seat belt she turned toward Buffy.

“This is your chance don’t let them ruin it for you.” At the glance Buffy gave her Cordy sighed. “I don’t mean it like that they won’t mean to do it but they will sabotage your chance because you aren’t following the plan they have set. They want to go to college, have a career, get married, and have kids all right here in Sunnydale. Buffy face it they don’t want it like you do.” Cordy reached out taking Buffy’s hand.

“Think about it what if nothing comes of this and they know they will never let you live it down, Xander will never let you live it down. We’ll stop by your house and you can pack a bag and tell your mom that you’re staying with me for the weekend.”

“We have a gig at the Bronze this week.” Buffy met Cordy’s gaze and squeezed her hand.

“I’ll call Spike his band can fill in. You can tell the band you’re not feeling well your entitled to it they have all missed gigs you haven’t missed a single one.” Cordy sighed letting Buffy’s hand go. “I can go with you Buffy you won’t have do this alone.”

“Why are you doing this?” Buffy asked softly.

Cordy started the car, “Because I don’t want you to end up playing at the Bronze on Saturdays two years from now slowly dying inside.” Cordy didn’t say what was going through her mind, because I want someone to get out Sunnydale even if it’s not me.

Buffy put the last item in her bag and glanced around the room and picked up Mr. Gordo. The little pig had been a gift from her parents when she was younger she stuffed him into her bag.

“So you’re staying with Cordelia?” Joyce asked not convinced that Buffy was telling the truth the two girls hadn’t been close in the last few months.

“Yes.” It wasn’t a lie, Buffy sighed yes it was. “Tonight I am then we are going to LA.” At Joyce’s raised brow Buffy cut in. “I am 18 Mom and it’s just for a few days.” Buffy pulled out Whistler’s card. “I have to try just this once then I will know I won’t always have to wonder.”

Joyce smiled sadly reaching out and cupping her daughters chin. They would sign her the moment they heard her sing Joyce knew and dreaded it for years that someone would discover her little girl.

“I know you do, just tell me you aren’t going on your own.” Joyce sighed.

“Cordy’s coming with me, I know things are tough with the gallery and Dawn.” Buffy met her mom’s gaze.

“Cordy won’t let anything happen to you she doesn’t take shit off of anyone.” Joyce sighed chuckling at the look her daughter gave her. “Promise me that if this doesn’t work out you will go to college no more fights, no more excuses.”

Buffy nodded. “I promise.” Buffy wrapped her arms around her mother and sighed. “I’ll be back by Monday.” Buffy smiled pulling back.

Joyce walked her down to the car and gave the girls a few words of advice, and as the car drove away she had the distinct feeling that Buffy wouldn’t be back on Monday.

Buffy and Cordy were waiting for their flight when Whistler sat down across from them he didn’t look surprised to see them.

“Have your tickets, ID’s and all that stuff?” He asked.

“Yes and we have flown before.” Cordy replied haughtily and Whistler chuckled. The whole way there they whispered to one and other. Once they landed Whistler let them carry their bags to the gates then took them off them one at a time and handed them to a man in a black suit.

“This way ladies,” The limo was waiting it was one of the studios fleet models nothing special but top of the line.
“I am going to drop you off at the hotel everything is paid for so you can order what you like to eat. I am going to stop at the office and make sure everything is ready for tomorrow. Wesley would like to meet you for dinner at the restaurant in the hotel at 7.”

“Will you be there?” Buffy asked meeting his gaze.

“Would you like me to be there?” Whistler asked.

“Yes I would.” Buffy responded.

Whistler smiled nodding. “Then I will be there.”

Whistler watched them chatter and glance out the windows. “Here we are.” He replied as they pulled up to the hotel. He got them checked in and the driver followed them upstairs carrying their bags. After they were safely in their room he headed to the office.

Not bothering to knock he walked into Wesley’s office. “She’s at the hotel dinner’s set for tonight she wants me there.”

“Understandable she knows you, will you be willing to take her over if she’s agreeable.” Wesley asked. Whistler was one of his best judges of talent he also had an uncanny ability as a manager.

Whistler sighed, “I will if you let me have complete control over her I don’t want you or any other exec setting up anything without running it through me first. If she’s mine she is mine.”

Wesley smiled, “Deal now we just have to get her to sign.”

“She’ll sign.” Whistler smiled heading out the door, and Slayer records was going to give her the sweetest deal he already had an entertainment lawyer outside the label ready to represent her and Lilah Morgan was one bitch you didn’t want to mess with.

Wesley glanced up as Whistler strolled into the restaurant. “They are on their way down. Buffy’s friend Cordelia joined her on the trip I might hire her on as Buffy’s assistant or my own if she doesn’t have other plans.” Whistler sighed taking a seat.

Wesley’s gaze was wondering over the room when it fell on a petite blond and brunette that were heading his way. “Tell me that the blonde is Buffy Summers.” Wesley stood as they approached.

“Already seeing the potential?” Whistler asked chuckling softly as the girls arrived.

Buffy sighed as her and Cordy settled into the bed. They were sharing the room had one huge King. Wesley was nice though a little reserved he didn’t seem like the record label type.

“Wesley is a hottie don’t you think?” Cordy snuggled deeper into the covers next to her.

“In a bookish sort of way,” Buffy rolled onto her side facing Cordy.

Cordy sighed reaching out and taking Buffy’s hand. “I know you’re nervous but everything is going to be fine you are going to be great, and they are going to sign you.”

“Don’t jinx it.” Buffy chuckled, as Cordy let her hand go. “Thanks for coming with me.”

“Not a problem, I get to enjoy a spa and eat at great restaurants your really putting me out Buffy.” Cordy replied dryly sighing.

“I have a feeling all your dreams are going to come true.” Cordy sighed wishing that hers would, as well.
