Chapter 2
In the boot of the car Angel lay unconscious and drugged. The car drove for twenty minutes and pulled up outside a warehouse where Angel was then removed from the trunk and dragged across the gravel drive and into a small cement room with a small window facing the heavens. The two men chained Angel to a beam in the middle in the roof, left him dangling loosely, and walked away. When the two men shut the door behind them a man stepped out of the shadows. A slither of light glinted off the needle in his hand as he moved towards the single table in the room. On the table was a small bottle of Brown liquid, which he lifted and measured out into the syringe. He moved over to the tied up vampire and injected the liquid into the arm of his detained vamp and waited for it to take effect.
***
Angel jerked awake. He was groggy, and had a massive headache. Even through his pain Angel tried to survey his surroundings but his vision was blurred and the light that did enter his eyes made his head ache even more. After a few minutes his vision was good enough to see a man sitting in a wooden chair smoking a cigarette. The smell from the room, mixed with the cigarette smoke was vile. There was a strong odour of blood both new and old, along with sweat and various liquids. The man in the chair seemed to realise Angel was coming round, and got up and walked over. He had a needle in his hand with some sort of blue sparkly content. Angel felt the sharp scratch of the needle and the cold sensation of the contents being pumped into his arm. Considering his heart didn’t beat and blood didn’t circulate round his body, he felt the injection move round his body and up to his head. Once it reached his head his vision swam and colours shifted and back again as well as the room itself. Angel tried to focus his vision, and sort his thoughts. He also tried to focus on the mans voice, to figure out who and what this man wanted.
***
After everyone had left his office Angel went over the file and sorted through the information. A client of Wolfram & Hearts had gone missing and the Senior Partners were very concerned about getting him back. After they had found out all they could on the man a police file had arrived showing a gunshot victim. The pictured had matched perfectly. So their missing client was no longer missing. So the next thing they had to figure out was, who and why had they killed him. The only thing they had found so far was, it wasn’t a vampire because the murder had taken place in the open during the day. This was the only bit of information they had at the present. Angel, along with the rest of his team, was exhausted and frustrated.
Since they had been on the case, for about twenty-two hours now, they hadn’t slept or left their departments except to confer and take a break to discuss it. They weren’t getting anywhere fast. Now that Fred and the scientists in the lab had come up with this new devise to help Asses what or who was at the crime scene, everyone was feeling a bit more hopeful, except Angel. He was still wondering why the senior partners had missed this particular client and what he had been up to. For all Angel knew, this could be a dangerous and possibly deadly road to travel. He had to tread carefully.
