Part 2
Chapter 2
The following evening.
Buffy and Spike were at the Magic Box, preparing to be sent to an alternate reality. Some days weird just didn’t cover her life, Buffy thought to herself as the gang buzzed around her.
Spike reached for her hand and gave it a quick squeeze, then reached in to give her a quick kiss.
“Oh God, do you mind that is disgusting!” Of course it would be Xander who saw them.
Buffy and Spike reacted quickly in the way that they had been dealing with situations like this.
They wrapped their arms around each other and nearly ate the face of each other, kissing sloppily making sure that there were plenty of disgusting noises.
Dawn laughed as Xander stalked away muttering to himself. She was so pleased that Buffy and Spike had got it together, they both seemed happier, well Buffy wasn’t just walking around like the Buffybot anymore so she didn’t really care, as long as she had her sister back.
Willow approached the pair when they had finished their little skit.
“Are you guys ready?” At the nods, she motioned them into position in the centre of a circle which had been drawn on the floor.
“Spike are you sure you know the spell that will bring you back?” Willow wanted to check again. “Either way, we’ll give you three days, if your not back by then we’ll try to bring you back from this side. Ok?”
“Willow, we’ll be fine. You showed Spike the spell like two million times now, I think that I could probably do it by now.” Buffy smiled as the witch raised her eyebrow.
“Come on then kiddies, lets get this show on the road.” Spike had a gleam in his eyes and Buffy realised that he was looking forward to this, it had been a bit quiet she supposed.
*******
The lights flashed around them and when Buffy and Spike opened their eye’s, they were standing in a car park outside a club. Buffy looked at Spike and he motioned for her to lead the way.
As they got closer to the entrance Buffy read out the name.
“The Circus of the Damned. Hmm, nice.” Buffy quipped.
Spike let out a chuckle and pointed up to a clown that decorated the top of the building.
“It has fangs. I think I like this place.” Spike was still chuckling when Buffy rolled her eyes.
They made their way into the Circus and Buffy couldn’t help but gape.
“Can you believe this? I can sense vampires, people know that there vampires here and look, people still bring their children.” Buffy shook her head in amazement.
“Pet, don’t forget what Anya told us, vampires live with humans in this world.” Spike grabbed a passing vampire.
“Excuse me mate, we’re looking for Jean Claude.” Spike asked politely.
“Is he expecting you?” The vampire asked.
“Yes.” Buffy answered quickly and ignored Spike’s raised eyebrow. The vampire gestured for them to follow him as he walked off.
Buffy and Spike trailed through the cloud and down a flight a stairs, they stopped outside a door and the vampire gestured the through.
As Buffy and Spike stepped through the door they came face to face with a man with long black hair, an extremely attractive man who was seated behind a desk. Off to one side stood a young woman who also had black hair and exuded confidence. The woman looked them up and down and spoke.
“By the amount of leather I’m going to assume that they’re friends of yours.”
“No Ma_petit, I thought perhaps that they were associates of yours.
The vampire, presumably Jean Claude looked slightly puzzled.
“Before we go nuts on the guessing games, let me explain. You don’t know us but I’m Buffy and this is Spike…” Buffy broke of mid sentence and quickly whirled around raising her foot and pinning the vampire who was sneaking up behind them to the nearest wall.
Buffy’s foot caught the vampire on the neck, just under her chin. Buffy applied some pressure and looked her up and down.
“You want to keep struggling or am I going to start taking bets on how long it takes me to separate your head from your neck?” Buffy applied a bit more pressure and the vampire gagged.
“What do you think Spike? Minute? Minute and a half?” Buffy asked conversationally.
“10 seconds at most.” Spike snorted and started picking the chipped nail polish of his fingernails.
“Buffy, is it? Please, I’m sure that Heidi meant you no harm, she is just protecting me. If you let her go you have my word that no one else will attack you. Oui?” Jean Claude seemed to be speaking carefully in a soothing voice.
He went up in Spikes estimation; he sensed the power in Buffy and was being cautious.
Buffy relaxed her foot some, then just as quickly she used it to snap the vampires head to the side and was rewarded by the crunch of bone as her neck snapped. Buffy let her drop to the floor and watched her twitch for a moment before returning her attention to the room. Spike rolled his eyes when she looked at her.
“What? It’s not like she’s going to die from it.” Buffy said a little defensively.
“Why didn’t you just kill her?” Spike asked.
“These are new boots” Buffy shrugged but couldn’t stop the flush that coloured her face.
Spike just shook his head.
The dark haired girl laughed, but quickly hid her smile behind her hand as Jean Claude looked at her.
“Please sit down.” Jean Claude gestured to the seats in front of his desk.
“Hang on a minute, before we get comfortable I want to know what the hell are you?” The dark haired girl spoke.
“I’m the slayer.” Buffy said simply. But then added as she took a seat. She looked up at Spike and he sat down next to her.
“Let me start from the beginning, it will be easier to explain.”
