Chapter 2
(((Dylan: I go to an alternative High School. It's for like people that can't handle regular school and basically everyone's stupid there. Me being the smartest one, which is kind of sad, and a senior, I can basically do whatever the hell I want. As for the smoking thing, I smoke and I know it isn't cool. I just figured that Dawn could've picked up smoking after an experience like finding out she was The Key. That’s stressful, and people usually pick it up to help deal with stress.)))

Rest stop, thank god. We all piled out of the bus, glad to be out of that in closed space. Trust me, having that many people on a bus for a long period of time *will* drive you insane.
I walked into the store and looked around. Food… food… chips! Doritos! Nice. I grabbed a bag of those and a coke and went to the counter.
"This and a pack of Marlboros," I said and hand the guy the money. He bagged my things and I headed out the door, running straight into Buffy.
"Oh god! I'm sorry!" Buffy apologized, blushing.
"Its cool."
She looked at my bad, "What'd you buy?"
"Food and some ciggs. You want some?"
"Faith, I don’t smoke," Buffy replied.
I rolled my eyes, "The food B, the food."
"Oh. Yeah, sure." More blushing. Damn, what was up with this girl, I didn’t even say anything sexual and she's blushing like hell.
I sat outside the store, watching the potentials-turned-slayers who were busy running around. Buffy sat next to me and I opened up the chips, handing the bag to her.
She made a face, "Doritos? Faith, they are so unhealthy."
I raised my eyebrows, "Fine, if you don’t want any…"
"No! No, I'm still hungry," she said as she grabbed my arm, making sure I don’t go away with the chips.
I rolled my eyes, "Fine, just stop criticizing my food."
She nodded and grabbed for some chips.
Then silence.
"So uh…" Buffy started.
"Yeah?" I said with a mouthful of chips.
She laughed a little, "Well that’s real attractive."
I swallowed and grinned, "I try."
She smiled, looked down, then looked up again. "So where are you gonna go? When we get to LA I mean."
I shrugged. "Dunno. Around."
"You're not going to stay with us?"
"You got some slayer training to do and me? Well I just don’t do that stuff," I replied.
"I think you'd be good at it."
I shook my head, "Naw. Anyway, I'd rather just keep movin. Been doing it all my life so I'm kinda used to it."
"Boston?"
I look at her, "What? No. No, too many shitty memories there." I turned my head and looked down the road.
"I want you to stay with us…" she said quietly.
I turned back to look at her defensively, "Why? B you hated it when I came back to Sunny D."
"No I didn’t!"
"Well you made it seem that way. With all your sarcastic remarks and checkin on me every half an hour. Plus you fucking *punched* me when I started to argue with you because you don’t like to be told you're wrong."
"I was just… confused."
"About what?" I asked.
She shrugged, "You, us… I don’t know. We have such a checkered past it was just scary."
I smirked, "Big Bad Buffy's afraid of me now?"
She lightly hit my arm, "You know that’s not what I meant."
It was my turn to shrug, "B, you and me are like oil and water. It wouldn’t be the smartest of ideas."
She shook her head, "No we're not. W jus just different people. We disagree sometimes sure, but not all the time. Faith, you and I used to have a lot of fun, remember?"
Remember? Of course I fucking remember. That night at the Bronze, where B finally let loose and lived a little? I remember every detail. Her body against mine as we danced, getting all hot and sweaty. I remember watching a drop drip down between her breasts and get lost in her shirt as she flipped her hair off her shoulder and then trailing her hands down her sides. I remember the look she gave me when we got real close: lust. Pure and carnal. She looked at me with such desire and I knew she wanted me. But then I accidentally killed Finch, and it was all over. She's never looked at me that way since. All I see now is disgust, and I hate it.
"Yeah, we did." I said half heartily.
She gave me a look, studying my face, "Stop thinking about that night Faith. It wasn’t your fault and you did your time. Stop torturing yourself."
"I didn’t do my time, I got my ass out of jail on my own."
"Because the Bringers were after you and the world was ending! You had a pretty damn good reason to leave," Buffy tried reasoning.
"Whatever."
She rolled her eyes, "Stop dismissing me with that, I hate it when you do that."
"Whate"
"
"Faith!"
"Whatever," I said again, and smirked a little.
"Okay now your just trying to piss me off."
I laughed and she hit my shoulder with enough strength to break it is I was a normal person. But I'm not, so all I'm gonna get is a bruise. "Hey B, watch it! That fucking hurt!"
She bit her bottom lip, "Sorry."
"You should be."
"Oh shut up!" She gave me her 'look'.
I smirked, "Make me."
"I will!"
"Come on then, all I'm seein is you sitting there on your cute little ass."
"Hey I'm come--- wait. Is my ass really cute?" She got up and looked behind her to try and see it.
I laughed.
Dawn came out of the store and rolled her eyes at her sister, "Buffy stop looking at your butt, we're all getting back on the bus."
"But Faith said it was cute," Buffy explained, still trying to see it.
"Faith thinks every part of you is cute now lets GO." Dawn left and went back in the bus.
Buffy turned to me, a slight blush coloring her cheeks, "You do?"
I stood up, "Come on, let's go back before they leave without us." How's that for avoiding the question.
"Can I sit with you?" Buffy asked shyly.
I smiled, "Sure, come on."
---------------
The rest of the bus ride was fairly uneventful. Buffy ended up sleeping on me, which was cute and arousing at the same time, only because her head slipped from my shoulder to my breast. She woke up, blushing like hell but I told her it was alright, even though sometime soon I'm gonna have to fix my little "problem." Other than that though, nothing really happened.
When we got to LA it was dark out, which was good for Angel. We piled out of the bus and into Wolfram & Hart. I don’t think I'll ever get used to Soulboy working for them, considering they hired me once to kill him.
"Buffy, how are you?" Angel said immediately, putting a hand on her shoulder.
I know he's still in love with her. I remember when she loved him and I'd be out of my mind jealous. That’s why I hated him, why I chose to poison him before. But he helped me, and I can't say I'm not jealous now, but I won't kill him because of it. Plus, I don’t think B's in love with him anymore.
"I'm fine, Angel," she answered tiredly and stifled a yawn.
Angel noticed it and said to all of us, "I think you all should rest now, we can talk in the morning." He paused and said in a low tone to Buffy, "Its good to see you again."
She nodded and went back over to me,ningning heavily on my shoulder. "Tired," she mumbled.
I smiled a little and listened as Angel gave us room numbers. Nice, I need some sleep wicked bad.
