Spike looked on amazed at the sight of Xander curled up in a ball with tears running down his face from laughing so hard.
“He hasn’t laughed that much in months, what’s so funny pet?”
Xander grinned up at Spike.
Xander looked over at the man in the door way “Sorry man but today has just been a really weird day. Everything that could go wrong has.” Xander went on to explain. “We nearly had to take William to the hospital this morning when Buffy failed to notice he was asleep on the sofa, his allergic to UV rays he gets a nastily rash, then she nearly set the kitchen on fire when she tried to make pancakes for breakfast. Then I woke up late ‘cause I forgot to set my alarm. Poor Dawn got upset ‘cause she thought it was an indication of the day being cursed. Then Buffy started her new job but didn’t know what to do so she got in a flap about it. Tara and I met a new customer. A nice young Shaman in training at the store and finally when we get home we find out the girls legal guardian, who is in LA on a business trip, car has broken down and he is running late. How was your day?”
The young man in the doorway grinned over at Xander who was still sitting on the floor.
“Not to bad, nowhere near as bad as yours. Finally finished unpacking only to find that I left half my research notes at my old home. Then my car broke down got that fixed only to start getting a stress headache when my new boss calls and dumps a new case on my lap that must be dealt with today. Went shopping found a lovely little store that dose the most marvelous teas that stop headaches in their tracks. Got to my first, and only case for the days, house and get laughed at by the nice storeowner that I met today. All this and I still haven’t called my old home to get my notes sent on to me and believe me that is not going to be a fun call to make. Let’s just hope tomorrow gets better yeah? After all it can’t get much worse can it.”
The Scooby gang froze and tensed at Blair’s words. Each of them looking around the room nervously waiting for the pug ugly to jump out and tear them to shreds.
Blair watched as the group one by one looked at each other in confusion as nothing happened and them turned to him all with similar looks of relief and annoyance.
To Blair’s surprise it was William who first spoke.
“Could you please not go around saying things like that in this town its not safe.”
“Umm why?” Blair looked from William to Xander in confusion.
“Just trust us, saying things like that in this town can be hazardous to your health.” Xander said as he stood up and moved to sit down in one of the armchairs.
