Visionary Kiss II 12

Visionary Kiss II Part 12
EXT. AMERICAN CAMP - NIGHT

Ever more shots could be heard, the American camp was under siege. Two dozen Mumia riders galloped through, firing rifles. Several Diggers were killed as they ran.

The Americans leaped out of their tents firing. They killed multiple riders. Daniels shot, spun falling as he did but kept right on shooting. Henderson and Burns ran to his aid, blasting away.

O'Connell races through the ruins and slammed right into Beni, who was obviously trying to high-tail it out of there.

"Goin' somewhere?"

"Just looking for you, O'Connell! I wanted to be with my friend!"

Rick just dragged him back toward the camp, ignoring his crying.

"C'mon, friend."

"Why do you like to fight so much?"

"'Cause I look good doin, it."

Ardeth Bay galloped through the camp, cutting Diggers down with his scimitar. O'Connell raced to the top of some rocks, leapt out and tackled him off his horse. The two men slammed to the ground.

Rick spun up onto one knee and fired, point blank. Blowing the scimitar out of Ardeth Bay's hand. He was about to shoot again when a horse rode up between them.

A scimitar swooped down, almost taking his head off, missing him by an inch. Rick leapt to his feet and shot the rider off of his mount. The horse bolted.

But Ardeth Bay was already gone.

Evelyn had hidden behind some rocks, watching the scene that unfolded before her. Suddenly, she heard something coming up behind her and turned around. A vicious tattooed Mumia Rider raced at her.

Evelyn quickly backpedaled over the rocks, terrified.

The Mumia Rider raised his scimitar, about to strike. Evelyn screamed, tripped over a rock and fired the elephant gun that she had been holding. A second the Rider was blown off, his mount and catapulted twenty feet back into the ruins.

Willow watched as the bullet hit not the mumia, but the stone beside her, she really needed to show Evey how to shot properly. Good thing that she was able to watch over all of them and that it was dark enough so nobody would wonder why her eyes had changed their color.

Evelyn had been blown off her feet and over the ridge by the kick of the gun. She flailed though the air and landed in a sand dune. Jonathan and some Diggers were holding their own near the temple door, as four riders came charging right at them.

The British man took a swig off the Seagrams that he was still holding in his hand, "Let 'em have it, boys!"

They opened fire. When the smoke cleared, the riders either were dead or gone.

"I say, bloody good show."

They had no time to wonder or celebrate, as several more mumia leapt off the temple roof and landed behind them. Jonathan and the remaining Diggers spun around and suddenly found themselves in hand-to-hand combat.

O'Connell was quickly loading his pistol when he heard thundering behind him. He spun around just as Ardeth Bay, on another horse, swung his scimitar.

Rick instinctively raised his hands to protect his face, as the scimitar struck.

But the mumia found himself unable to finish executing the strike like he wanted, ending up only hit the gun that flipped away.

Disarmed, Rick dove and rolled, suddenly rising with a stick of dynamite in his hand. He shoved the fuse into the fire, and watched it ignite.

He faced Ardeth Bay, towering above him. The two men locked eyes. The fuse continued to burn down. Ardeth Bay pointed his scimitar at O'Connell's head.

"LEAVE THIS PLACE! .... LEAVE THIS PLACE OR DIE!"

Ardeth Bay turned and looked at the woman with the red hair that was standing near his horse, proud without any fear she looked at him, he bowed his head and galloped off.

Theainiaining Mumia's raced after him, vanishing into the dark night.

Rick watched them leave, waiting until he was sure that they really would not come back any minute. He turned to the burning fuse, and pulled out the burning fuse. Evelyn staggered up, she looked very shaken, as O'Connell gently took her and held her close.

"You alright?"

The woman looked up into his eyes. It was the first time he showed genuine concern for her and she liked it. He was also holding her a little too close and she liked that too.

"Yes, ...fine, ...thank you."

Beni crawled fromfrom under some pillars as Henderson and Burns helped Daniels to his feet.

"See! That proves it! Old Seti's fortune's gotta be under this sand!"

"For them to protect it like this, you just know there's got to be treasure down there."

Rick looked up into the surrounding ridges, unsatisfied, then his eyes found Willow. He could see blood on her clothes but she didn't look hurt. Again he had the feeling that this woman was more, much more.

"These men are a desert people they value water, not gold."

Evelyn moved her head and tried to look around without losing the arms that surrounded her. She looked at Willow and smiled, her friend was safe. Letting out a little sound she again found Rick's eyes, suddenly very worried.

"Where's Jonathan?"
