Chapter Fifteen

Chapter Fifteen
After a good soak, and hearing Angel up, or was it feeling Angel was up, Xander decided it was time to get ready. Asking for Willow to join him in her room, he first put on the pants so that Willow would not be shocked at his nudity. The leather was pitch black, not a normal black, but rather a light absorbing black, that if he looked carefully he would have noticed he didn’t cast a shadow of his lower half. On the sides were rings, so that the two halves didn’t meet on the outside of the pants, and each ring had a rune inscribed in its surface. As each ring touched Xander’s skin it glowed, and then faded, their power now set because of Xander’s own magical strength.

As he slipped on the metal mesh shirt, Willow knocked and came in at the muffled “Enter.”

She gulped because just looking at the pants and the muscular back of her friend, a back usually covered in layers of clothes, made her think and feel things for her friend that were not of the friendly sort.

Grinning at Willow’s red face, Xander bent over with his back to her to put on the boots he already had from a previous buying trip to Rfus’s. He knew what he was doing was cruel but he couldn’t help himself, he was feeling a bit giddy, and free as if he was putting on an actor’s role, and he could do with it what he will.

After slipping on the boots over the pant’s legs, he straightened, and had to snap his fingers in front of Willow to get her attention back to the present.

“Yo, Willow, I think it’s time for the make-up and time for my debut to my consort, don’t you,” grinned a cheeky Xander.

“Oh, you…. You did that on purpose didn’t you,” she said as she slapped him in the arm.

Setting him down, she quickly outlines his eyes, and applied the silver to his eye lids, standing back she had to agree with Rfus, the silver between his silver hair and silver eyes, did catch the light just right for him. Sighing in the unfairness of his long lashes, she darkened them a little, and then added a slight red to his lips. With the earring he was done, except for the collar that Angel had to put on him.

Sitting downstairs, everyone was antsy to see what Xander would come up with, and most were afraid they would have to have him change it. They heard the door open, and watched the stairs expectantly.

Down the stairs Xander came, and the room became quiet, Xander looked like the perfect consort for Angelus, the silver and black motif fit with the boys coloring to a T, and brought out the sensual as well the exotic features of the young man’s face.

Stop in front of Angel who had gone speechless at the appearance of his soon to be husband, Xander began:

“Through out the millennium, consorts have come and gone with the whim of their Masters, tonight I hand myself over to mine, to be done with as his will. All that is left is for him to give me his mark, and to collar me for all to see that mark.”

Startled by this proclamation, Angel was a bit stunned, as he recovered Xander handed him the collar, and turned his head, baring his neck.

“Xander are you sure, this is only the first step in our bonding but it is an important step, once started it can only be undone by your death.”

Turning back to look into Angel’s eyes, “I know, and I know what this means, as long as you understand that I am giving you myself and my heart, you just have to keep to your word of the other night.” At this Angel just nodded, understanding what Xander was offering him.

Turning he head and offering his neck again, Xander waited patiently as Angel thought things over. Feeling more that seeing or knowing, he knew that Angel had shifted, and was leaning in for the mark.

He could hear Giles give a mild protect, only to be held back by Vic, and Willow stepped in between them and Joyce and Dawn. All knew this must happen, but none were prepared for it to be done, except for the two involved.

Xander could feel Angel slowly sniff his way up his neck, a gentle lick to feel the pulse point, and gentle nibble on that spot, causing him to shiver, as he felt the tight leather pants get tighter. Suddenly, Angel was there, and that was all that mattered, as he felt the fangs slip into his neck, he could feel the pulsing blood slowly leave his body as he sagged against Angel’s chest. And as suddenly as it began it ended. With a small lick to close the wounds but not to erase them, Angel quickly put on the collar, deciding he didn’t like spikes, he concentrated, and the collar responded and went smooth leaving two holes in the collar to fit right over the bite marks.

Standing back Angel looked at the image Xander gave off, his hair was styled to show off the collar, bite mark, and earring to the best of ability. The earring was 4 perfectly shaped rubies in the shape of blood drops hanging over the bite mark, and if to guide the eye to show what Xander was.

The shirt, pants, and boots were a perfect set for him, thought he didn’t have the heart to tell Xander he was wearing demon skin turned into leather.

Leading Xander over to the couch so he could collect himself for a few minutes, Angel pulled Giles over to the side. The Watcher had a murderous look on his face. Angel started the conversation before Giles could get started.

“Listen to me Watcher, that boy just gave me his all, his life, his freedom, and his future, he doesn’t need to have to worry about you approving or disapproving, you knew this would happen eventually, Xander just sped it up a little, and after thinking about it for a few minutes you would see the good this will do for us in dealing with the rest of the Hellmouth.”

“Because let me warn you right now, if tonight goes as I think it will, by month’s end there will be a new Master on the Hellmouth, and it will be ME.”

“Why you, and why a new master for all that,” Giles ground out.

“Why me, because it is the only way I can make sure my family, which includes you, you ass, is safe, as for having a master, where there is an underworld community there has to be someone to control it to a degree or we all run the risk of being found out.”

Nodding his agreement but not liking it clearly on his face, Giles turned around and marched back to Xander to check up on him.

Angel just sighed and pinched his nose, wondering when un-life became so difficult.

As Giles neared Xander, Xander looked up, and decided to head what Giles had to say off at the pass so to speak.

“I know you going to read me the riot act, but don’t. I know what I did, what it means, and I fully understand why I did it, but do you understand why I did it?”

“I can honestly say no I don’t, the binding of souls in the prophecy did not mention this nor require it,” replied Giles confusion clearly marked on his face.

“Angel would require it sooner or later, or I should say his demon, and I require the safety and the protection this gives me,” Xander started to explain. “Angel’s demon would settle for no less then a complete surrender, and I wouldn’t be satisfied without a complete commitment from Angel.”

“This does not make me an inferior to Angel, we will be equals or so help me, he is going to learn to like cheese,” cracked Xander.

Smiling Giles nodded his head with understanding and hope that Xander was right in this matter.

Earlier that day, Angel had sent a Pro’gru demon to Gustin to make arrangements for the meeting he had wanted that night. The demon returned with the answer a short while ago with the meeting place being a neutral safe zone in one of the town’s many cemeteries.

Turning to the groups Angel motioned for all them to get together, “Xander and I will be leaving shortly for the meeting place. Right now there are only the two of us going. I can’t take Vic because he might get staked just for joining my clan, and I don’t trust Buffy to keep Xander alive.”

“I’m hoping between the two of us, with my strength and speed, and Xander’s magic we will be alright.” Saying that the two of them left the mansion and drove off in Angel’s car.

As soon as they were out of sight Buffy jumped up and ran out the door, to fast for anyone to stop her except Vic, and he had been ordered to stay behind and guard the others.

Willow and Vic wanted Giles to call Angel and Xander and warn them about Buffy’s defection, but he decided that they did not need the distraction of worrying about the Slayer right now.

As Angel and Xander slowly made their way to the meeting site, at Restful Acres, Xander could feel the tension build in Angel.

“Angel, what’s wrong?”

“You do realize we’re walking into a trap, right?”

“Yes, I know, but what can we do? We have to talk with this Gustin, and we have to do it on his terms. So we have to be ready he will not be alone.”

Xander snorted, “ That’s a given.”

Angel loves over at his lover, as he parks the car a couple of blocks away from the opening of the cemetery, “What do you mean by that? That you can’t trust him because he is a vampire.”

Xander looks back, “Angel the only vampire I trust right now with my heart and soul is you, because you have proven to me over and over again that you, ANGEL, are trust worthy despite being a vampire, because of a simple reason, you can love, be loved, all because of the one thing you have and they don’t have. A soul. A soul, is what makes you different than every other vampire on the planet.”

“Yes you’re a vampire, I’ll never forget that, I accept that fact, I adore that fact, but I wouldn’t be sitting here with your collar on if you didn’t have that soul.” So saying all of that Xander leans over and gives Angel the sweetest kiss he could give, and look of purest love the boy knew how to give the vampire.

“Plus, Gustin is trying to be Angelus, so he is of course trying to be deceitful, and have things planned against us, just to show you that he can be as Angelus as you can be.”

“Oh.”

“Yeah, oh.” Xander smiled. Now, come on, let’s get going, the night’s not getting any younger, and I want to get back home, and maybe to explore some more.”

This caused Angel to jump out of the parked car and speed around the other side to quickly open Xander’s door, which caused the young man to laugh.

Suddenly Xander closed his eyes as if sensing something for the first time. Opening his eyes he turned to Angel.

“You were right, Gustin did break the agreement, we are not alone, there are dozens of vampires out there, I can feel them from here.”

Angel nodded and rubbed his hands soothingly up and down Xander’s arms. “I expected as much, Let’s get going. AS long as we know they are there we’re ahead of the game.

Nodding Xander agreed. Inside he was cringing from the pain of using his magic even in passive mode to sense the vampires, he brain and pathways have not healed enough to really be out here tonight but he would not tell any of this to Angel.

As the pair began walking, covering the ground quickly from where they parked to front of the cemetery, as they reached the front gate to open it, Xander suddenly stumbled over nothing. With a pained look on his face, Xander starts cussing.

“Fuck, and Doubled Fuck. Buffy’s out here too. She is racing up behind us and should be here in a few minutes at the rate she is running.”

Angel frowned, “What do you mean? She was supposed to stay with Giles and the others to help protect them in case of a surprise attack.”

“Yeah?” And when have you ever known Buffy to do what she’s told?” Xander asked, with a lifted eyebrow.

“Do you think she will cause trouble for us --- or help us?” Xander continued.

Angel just sighed, “I don’t think we can trust her to help in the long run. She might help protect me, but can we say the same about you?”

“Either way we need to be careful and ready to see what she will do, okay?”

Again, Xander just nodded

Angelus spots Gustin’s group, he nudged Xander and placing his hand in the small of Xander’s back, guides in the direction of the meeting.

As they entered the cemetery Angel could now feel the other vampires in the bushes and trees surrounding the meeting area. He leans down and whispers in Xander’s ear to be prepared for them, as some of them feel old to Angelus. He hoped that between the two of them they could beat them in a fight. He knew it would not be a fair fight, but then Gustin does not know that Xander now could wield powerful magic.

When they get right up to Gustin’s “group” looks like the agreed upon size, but both of them know better, looking at Angelus, Xander nods his head in understanding and mentally prepares a spell to hold back the extra vampires from attacking.

Both groups size each other up, Gustin has six vampires not counting himself, while there is only Angelus and Xander on their side of the line.

“I see you have brought your pet to the meeting, but no back up. Arrogant as ever Angelus,” Gustin said starting the meeting off on the wrong foot. But then vampires were not known for tact very much.

“And I see you have brought more than the agreed upon number, or do you not count the ones in the bushes and trees as yours?” Angelus said raising an eyebrow and a smirk.

“So, your powerful enough to feel other undead, that won’t help you in a fight, and we both know it, I will give you until end of the week to make arrangements to leave this town, and to return my vampire over to me. He needs to be punished for leaving my clan.”

“Vic has no part in these discussions, he made his choice and I will honor it. As for leaving, I think it will be you. I may have a small coterie but they are the most powerful Sunnydale has to offer.”

“Example, my “PET” is actually the strongest magic user in Sunnydale, and Hecate’s new high priest.”

At this Gustin laughs, “ It is universally know that Hecate’s only has high priestess, never a high priest. So I know your lying.”

At this Xander sees red and step forward, “I will show you that I have been blessed with Hecate’s favor, and power.”

Moving his hands in a mystic pattern, freezing Gustin and his men into place, Xander begins to recite the spell he had prepared with a few modifications:

Goddess Hecate, goddess of night
Lend me you mystic might
So I may strike down enemies out of sight
Enemies of those the fight for the light

Enemy hidden out of sight
Now glow with sun’s burning light
Turn darkest night into brightest day
This is how treachery will now pay

A ghostly image of Hecate appeared over the assembled vampires, and the words, “My High Priest, your will shall be done, this I so order, this I so ordain.” Saying this she raises her ghostly hands, glowing bright like a miniature sun, she claps them together, and bright light is seen. Once everyone can see again, they look up at the spot in awe.

Suddenly the night is lit up like the brightest noon, as the hidden minions and masters start glowing like the sun at high noon. This causes them to catch fire and slowly burn to dust.

The screams and howls fill the night, and can be heard all over Sunnydale. Buffy picks up the sound and homes in on the source and runs faster to help her Angel, and maybe get rid of her problem at the same time.

By the time all the hidden vampires have fallen to dust, the only sign of them is the burning trees and bushes they had hidden in or behind.

Giving Gustin a smirk, Xander, bows and saunters back to Angelus’ side, and snuggles up to his mate.

Looking up into his face, Xander asks, “Did I do good?” holding him closer and bending down to kiss him, “You did excellent my pet.”

Turning back to a shaken Gustin, “Now you can see what one of my minions can do, and he is only the mortal one, I still have the Librarian and the Slayer on my side, as well as the Witch. Can you imagine the damage I can do to your court, before I kill you after a long time in my playroom? So I suggest that you leave, now. And make your choices about staying in Sunnydale.” Angel commented with a smirk and a snarky attitude.

He had to hurry this up, he could now feel Buffy, she would be here any second, and he could not allow her to mess up this meeting.

Bowing Gustin signaled his men, and they quickly faded into the night. For they too sensed the Slayer, and did not want to add her to the nights mess. It had not gone their way, and now they were down by ½ their numbers.

As Gustin and his men faded beyond Angel senses, Buffy showed up.
