CH16
The young man froze and his eye flicked from one to the other.
“How? What? How?”
Tara smiled softly at him.
“I follow the Wiccan path and can recognize others with the gift young Wolf. Please sit we will discuss your needs.”
The young man walked over to the table and sat down he looked nervously from one to the other as they joined him.
“He want’s some herbal teas Tara, I think he has a headache, “ Xander paused as the young man nodded “I’ll make up some of my Willow-bark tea.” Xander smiled at as the man nodded in gratitude and went in to the back room to make it.
When he came out with the tray Tara and the man were in deep discussing about the different aspects between Wiccan and Shamanism.
Joining them he handed them their mugs of tea. Tara and the young man drank theirs neat whilst Xander added Honey to his.
Tara tuned to Xander and introduced the young man.
“This is Blair, Xander. He has just moved to Sunnydale and is taking a course at the university. He has only recently started following the shaman path but has been involved in Alternate lifestyles since he was very young.”
“Do you follow a Path?” Blair asked
“No but Willow, Tara’s mate is my oldest friend and she does. As does Giles my partner in the shop so I’m used to all this.”
“Oh well that’s interesting. You run the shop for a living?”
Xander laughed at that.
“God no. I’m in construction. My ex owned half the shop but we split recently and I bought her out as she wanted to leave town.”
Blair apologized embarrassed at bringing up bad memories but Xander waved it off explaining that it was an amicable split and he didn’t mind talking about it.
Blair looked at his watch and said he had to leave for a meeting, promising to visit again the next day he left.
Xander and Tara closed up the shop and got the bot from the basement to go to there own meeting.
It was quarter past four when they arrived back at the house to chaos.
Giles had just called his car had broken down and he was running late.
Willow was trying to calm down a panicky Spike and Dawn was sitting quietly on the sofa wringing her hands.
By the time Xander had calmed them all down it was four thirty and the doorbell rang. Willow went to answer it whilst the bot went to the kitchen to put on the kettle as Xander asked.
When the social worker walked in Tara and Xander exchanged glances and started laughing. Whilst the others looked on worried that the stress had finally got to them. The social worked just stood in the doorway with a bemused expression on his face.
