Genesis

It was a couple of days later and Wood was preparing to leave, he had already packed the essentials he would need for his journey and he and Giles were busy discussing his plan of action. Willow had assigned him an account with plenty of money, they didn’t want the main account to be open to anyone as they would have difficulty keeping track of things.

Xander had put together some of the paperwork that Wood would be taking with him and they were all waiting for the time to come when he had to leave.

Faith felt a little sad that he was going but was also grateful cos at least she didn’t have to worry about being with Buffy now.

When the time came everyone gathered in the lobby, all the SIT’s had joined them to say goodbye and good luck to him.

“Well we’ll speak to you soon then Robin.” Giles extended his had to the former principal.

“Yes you will Rupert, I’ll let you know as soon as I get settled. Keep me informed about any new movements.” Wood shook Giles’ hand.

Buffy stepped forward and hugged him, then Willow and Dawn did the same, Xander and Andrew both opted for the manly hand shake. As he walked through the main entrance to the waiting cab Faith ran up to him.

“Be safe.” She stated before hugging him fiercely.

“I will.” He replied smiling at her as she moved away.

“You take care of her.” He called to Buffy as he got into the cab. Buffy walked up to Faith and put her arm around her waist.

“I will.” She replied kissing the brunette’s cheek.

And with that the cab took off down the long driveway, they all waved until they couldn’t see him anymore and made their way back into the house.

Buffy had invited Dawn, Willow and Kennedy to join her and Faith for dinner. They would normally join the others but she wasn’t in the mood for teenage talk all night. She hated losing a member of the gang and although she and Wood had had their differences he had become a close friend to her. She was a little worried about him but knew that he would be able to take care of himself.

Faith had come over early to help with the cooking, even though Buffy had invited the others she couldn’t cook very well so Faith had offered. Buffy watched as the dark haired slayer expertly chipped and chopped at the selection of vegetables they were having.

“Where’d you learn to cook?” She asked amazed at the ease in which Faith prepared everything.

“In prison.” She stated. “I was on kitchen detail a lot, it was cool I got to eat pretty much what I wanted, which was great cos trust me the little portions they give you inside wouldn’t feed a sparrow.” She smiled over at the blond, her smile quickly faded as she saw the hurt expression on the woman in front of her.

“Hey what’s wrong?” She enquired of the blond.

“Nothing it’s just I told you to go there, it must have been hell, I’m sorry Faith I never meant you to go through that.” Buffy replied honestly.

“Hey don’t get all sad about it, you were right, I could never have gotten straight out here, B I couldn’t say no to the temptation back then, but prison helped me, believe me I never hated you for telling me to turn myself in, shit I’m grateful that ya did.” She smiled.

“I know I just don’t like the fact that I sent you there.” Buffy replied walking closer to the brunette.

“It’s the past B, forget it, I don’t like what I did to you and the others, and I hated myself for a long time when I thought about all the things I did to you back then, but you forgiving me makes me wanna try harder this time, and being with you gives me the reason to try. I don’t want to go back to the old Faith, I like the one she’s becoming and it’s because of you.” She said comfortably to her girlfriend, as Buffy got close enough Faith leaned in and kissed her gently.

“You mean that?” Buffy asked.

“Yes I mean that. B you’ve always tried to be there for me and this time I’m gonna let you, and I’m gonna be here for you.” She replied.

“Always?” Buffy raised her eyebrow.

“Always.” Faith confirmed with a smile.

They were interrupted from their conversation when there was a knock at the door. Buffy went to answer it after kissing the brunette one more time.

“Hey Buff, what’s cooking?” Dawn asked as she bounded into her sister’s apartment.

“Not sure you’ll have to ask the Chef.” Buffy answered smiling at Faith who was still trying to get the dinner ready for them all.

“Hey Faith, you don’t trust her cooking either huh?” Dawn laughed.

“Hey I can cook, well I can do toast.” Buffy pouted a little.

“Exactly my point.” Dawn replied rolling her eyes.

Soon Willow and Kennedy had arrived and they all sat down to the meal that Faith had prepared, she had laid out a fantastic salmon dish with a selection of vegetables. Everyone tucked in to the delicious meal and soon their plates were empty. Buffy had elected to get their desert, which was a chocolate tart that soon followed the path of the main course.

When the meal was finished Buffy and Willow offered to tidy up and do the dishes which allowed the three brunettes to go relax and put some music on.

“So Buff, you ready to keep her occupied all day tomorrow?” Willow asked her friend.

“Yep I got it all planned, I’m taking her shopping, which I know she hates, then I’m gonna take her to that gaming arcade we found the other week, that should keep her busy most of the day.” Buffy relayed her plan.

“I’ll call you when it arrives so you wont have to stay away too long, I contacted the delivery company and they say it should be with us by early afternoon.” She informed the slayer.

“Cool, thanks Will.” Buffy replied smiling at her friend.

When they had finished in the kitchen they made their way into the living area. Kennedy had wledwled out on one couch and was laughing at one of Faith’s stories, both Faith and Dawn had sat at either end of the other couch. Willow lay down on the couch next to her lover who placed a protective arm around her, Buffy had moved to sit on Faith’s lap, she sat side on with her feet up on the middle of the couch so everyone could still see each other, Faith wrapped her arms around the blond and gently placed a kiss on her cheek. Buffy rested her head on Faith’s shoulder as the brunette continued with her story.

When it was time to leave they saw their guests to the door, they said their goodnights and readied themselves for bed.

“So what we got planned for our day off?” Faith asked the blond.

“Well I wanna go shopping.” Buffy replied.

Faith groaned but knew that if Buffy had made up her mind it was pointless trying to change it.

“Shopping for what, ya got everything ya need.” She replied in the vain attempt not to have to go to the mall.

“Well I was thinking we could buy some things.” Buffy suggested wiggling her eyebrow.

“Things like what?” Faith inquired suspiciously.

“Ya know, some play things, a little massage oil maybe?” Buffy leered at her girlfriend.

“Ok what time d’we leave?” Faith beamed.

“I thought you’d agree to that.” Buffy giggled.

It was mid morning before they had managed to get out of bed and ready for their day out. Willow had been frantically trying to get the slayer’s to leave, she really didn’t want the surprise to be spoiled.

The slayers had made their way to the shopping mall and were busy looking around all the different stores. Faith was becoming agitated she really hated shopping malls but Buffy was trying to stall as long as possible. When they finally stopped for coffee Faith had pleaded that they get what they cfor for and Buffy had relented.

They made they way to the adult store that they had spotted earlier, Buffy was a little nervous, she had not really spent any time in one of these before and now she was going to be buying stuff for her and Faith to use.

Faith was a little more confident about things, she strode into the shop as if it was The Gap or something, she didn’t bat an eyelid. Buffy followed close behind trying not to make eye contact with anyone else in there.

They looked around a bit and chuckled to each other as they spotted different objects and outfits. Soon they made their way through to the back of the shop, which held a variety of toys. Buffy’s eyes went wide as she saw the wide selection of vibrators there were small ones that looked like rabbits and large ones that made Buffy wince at the thought.

Faith made her way over to the selection of dildos and began riffling through them, Buffy watched her as she did this.

“What you looking at?” She asked shyly.

“Dildos B.” Faith answered directly, she could sense that the blond was embarrassed to be in the store let alone sift through the product and buy something.

“Oh.” Buffy replied reddening slightly.

“Here I think this one will do.” Faith stated proudly as she produced the nine inch red dildo.

“Don’t ya think it’s a bit big?” Buffy enquired.

“Na it’s just right, now lets get a harness.” The brunette replied and turned to pick a harness from the selection on display.

“I’m gonna go look at the oils and stuff, it looks like you got this end covered.” Buffy grinned at her girlfriend, she was happy that Faith was able to take control in these situations, she really wanted to please her girlfriend but was a little naïve when it came to things involving sex, especially sex with a woman.

“Ok, I’ll see you over there in a bit.” Faith replied kissing the blond.

Soon enough Faith joined Buffy who was still trying to decide on which massage oils to have, she already had a few of the fruity tasting ones, and was now busy looking through the sensual oils, she had been reading each one intently she never realised that massaging certain parts of the body with a specific oil could create such sensations but she was willing to try anything once.

“You ready there B?” Faith asked clutching at the armful of things she wanted to buy.

“Yeah I’m just reading … shit Faith what you buying altogether?” Buffy asked noticing the amount of things Faith was busy juggling.

“Just a few toys B.” She winked.

As they made their way to the cash register Buffy’s cell began to ring. She quickly answered it trying not to draw too much attention to herself.

“Oh hey Will, yep, ok, yep, no problem, see you later.” She spoke to the voiceless person on the other end.

“That Willow huh?” Faith asked.

“Yeah she said dinner’s gonna be early so not to eat too much while we’re out.” Buffy relayed the story, in fact Willow had told her that the Harley had arrived and that it was safely stored in the garage.

After going to the arcade as promised they made they way back home, when they arrived Faith ran their purchases up to her apartment so that no one would be able to see them. Buffy made her way into the library to check everything would be ready for Faith’s big surprise tomorrow.

When everything was organised they all settled down to dinner. They Scoobies had once again joined the SIT’s and they were all starting to jell as a family. Some had settled in the sitting room and were reading while the others had made their way into the different TV rooms to watch various movies. Faith had caught Xander and was convincing him to turn one of the spare rooms into a games room with a pool table and arcade games and stuff. He had been arguing the state of the budget when Faith called Willow over and explained her idea which was going to benefit everyone, Willow had to agree with Faith and told Xander to start making the estimates and she would allocate the money for it.
