Chapter 14
Dawn, Willow and Tara were waiting at the house impatiently. Dawn was pacing around the room making Willow and Tara nauseous.
"Dawnie, please sit down," Willow said.
"Dawn, everything is fine. They should be home any minute, "Tara said getting up and walking to her.
"I know it’s just that I can't help worrying. She’s my sister. And Spike has been the over-protective brother I always wanted." Dawn said to Tara who was stroking her hair.
"What about me?" Xander said coming in the back door.
"You and Spike are different," Dawn said and left it at that. She still hadn't forgiven Xander for the way he has been treating Buffy and Spike.
"Whereas Anya?" Willow asked Xander attempting to change the subject.
Xander cast his hurt eyes to Dawn who turned her head away from him.
"She’s at the Magic Box. She was muttering something about not making money when the store was closed," he said.
Still hurt by Dawn's obvious rejection he grabbed a soda and sat on the couch.
"When was the appointment anyways?" he asked popping open his can "S "Six o'clock which means they should be here any minute," Willow answered sitting down next to him.
"Maybe we should discuss how we are going to react if its bad news," Tara said still stroking Dawn's hair.
"Bad? What do you mean bad?" Dawn said whirling around and looking at Tara.
"Honey I just mean we don't know what Buffy is carrying. It could be a girl or a boy or a....." she trailed off.
"Don't say demon please don't say demon. A vampire I can handle but don't say something worse. This is supposed to be happy. Let's be happy," Dawn said laying her pleading eyes on Tara.
"Dawn we will be happy I promise. But lets just prepare ourselves in case it’s the worse case scenario," Willow said.
"Well I say the whole thing is worse case scenario. The slayer is giving birth to a vampire's baby. Doesn't anyone else see anything wrong with this?" Xander demanded his cool demeanor sliding off his face.
"Xander.GET. OUT. NOW!" Dawn spat at him.
"Dawn....."
"Maybe you didn't hear me. GET OUT OF MY FUCKING HOUSE NOW!!!" She screamed.
"OK let's just calm down, "Willow started to say as Xander rose.
"No! Let's not calm down. Am I the only one with any sense right now?" Xander asked his eyes not leaving Dawn's.
"Xander have sense? When did this happen? You are a whelp and will always be a whelp now get out of my house before I make you get out," Dawn said taking purposeful steps toward him. He stood un-moving.
"What’s the pretty little key going to do to me?" he taunted.
Willow and Tara took a step back knowing what was coming. Dawn wasn't just a key to another dimension. She had powers that she had locked away. Not realizing she had them until this very moment.
With a flick of her wrist Xander was lifted in the air. He looked down at her in shock and slightly scared.
"I told you to get out. Next time I hope you will listen," She said with a flick of her other wrist the door was opened. She smiled sweetly at Xander before turning her palm and he was thrown out the door. Dawn stood in the doorway and watched him bounce before laughing heartily.
"I’m going to give you one more chance because that’s just the kind of girl I am. If you ever come into this house and speak like that about my sister and Spike again I will do more damage then just throwing you out of the house. Is that understood?"
Xander nodded mutely from the walkway. He couldn't tear his eyes away from Dawn who was radiating green light from her eyes to her fingertips.
Buffy and Spike chose that moment to walk up laughing and holding hands. Buffy looked from Dawn to Xander and then back again. Spike smirked at the sight of Xander on his ass.
"What happened?" Buffy asked Dawn.
"A little mis-understanding that will never happen again," she replied her eyes shooting daggers at Xander.
"Niblet?" Spike said looking at her.” You ok?" He walked up to her and touched her arm. She turned towards him her eyes highlighted in green.
"I’m fine," she said before passing out.
"Now what the hell just happened? What’s wrong with Dawn and why is Xander out here on his ass?" Buffy demanded.

"Xander?" Buffy called out but he didn't turn, just kept walking away.
