The Blossoming Dawn--Chapter Fourteen

Spike rapped lightly on her bedroom door.

“Nibblet? Dawnie?”

She did not answer him and he felt a little worried.

He knocked again a bit louder.

“Little Bit? You okay?”

She still did not respond.

Spike turned the knob and found it was unlocked.

He debated whether to go in or not—and decided it was the only way to make sure she was alright.

He turned the knob slowly and found her on her bed her head turned down, hugging her chest.

“Nibblet?”

Spike walked over to the bed and sat down beside her.

“Bit…I’m sorry—I didn’t mean to scare you—I shouldn’t ‘ave gone so fast and besides that I shouldn’t ‘ave kissed you in the first place. I’m a bloody fool—an animal.”

She turned slowly and stared into his eyes.

“Did I scare you, bit?” he asked concern in his voice and in his eyes.

She shook her head slowly.

“I-I’ve always kinda wondered what it would be like…to kiss you, but when it happened…it was just…too much.”

Spike nodded slowly.

“It scared me, but it…made me feel so…warm…so loved.”

She turned away as if she had said something embarrassing or awful and he held her by the arm and turned her back to face him.

“I’m glad. I never want to hurt you. I want you to be happy--never want you to cry. And I will do anything to make you happy, Nibblet—Dawn.”

She let out a deep breath once again at hearing her name.

“Spike—I-I—“

She stopped wrapping her arms around him and hugging him tightly, sobbing.

“—I missed you so much.”

He smiled and stroked her hair soothingly.

“I missed you too, Dawn. I missed you a lot. Life wasn’t bloody worth it without seeing you every day.”

She pulled back from him her eyes staring deeply into his.

“You want me to be happy, right?”

“Of course I do. I’ll do anything.”

She smiled and her hands slowly caressed his face, her teary eyes staring into his.

“Then kiss me. Kiss me again, Spike ‘cause no one ever makes me as happy as you do.”

Spike nodded slowly and pressed his lips to hers again and she melted into his arms again as his tongue danced in her mouth and his lips tasted hers.

Soon he was on top of her his fingers entwined in hers their bodies pressed together.

She held him tightly kissing him with the same desire and passion that he showed, their lips smashing into one another’s in a lust-filled dance.

She gasped in his mouth as she felt his erection poking her through the fabric of his pants and he broke the kiss.

“You okay?”

“Y-Yeah it’s just you—you have—“

He chuckled and smiled seductively.

“I told you, you’re beautiful.”

She smiled and laughed as he trailed feather-light kisses down her neck, then moved up to playfully nip at her earlobe.

“We should go back downstairs. In case Buffy comes back early or—“

“I know. Come on I’m gonna make you some dinner. You should get a decent meal every once and a while. I know Buffy can’t be any good in the kitchen.”

Dawn laughed and shook her head.

“Trust me she’s not.”

“Well then you will have the privilege of tasting my famous lasagna.”

A look of amusement came to Dawn’s face and Spike frowned.

“What?”

She giggled.

“I’m sorry but it’s funny to picture you baking and you know wearing an apron like a homemaker or something—“

He grabbed her up causing her to let out a girlish scream.

“Hey—I’m not wearin’ a bloody apron and I NEVER have.”

Dawn giggled and kissed him lightly on the lips.

“I know I’m sorry just the idea of it is…funny.”

She laughed again and he growled playfully.

“Hey—you stop poking fun at me or I’ll spank you.”

He smirked.

“I may spank you anyway.”

Dawn laughed as he carried her down the hall and set her down at the top of the stairs.

They walked down together and Dawn sat in the kitchen watching Spike as he prepared lasagna and then slid it into the oven.

Some how the whole thing just seemed unnatural to her.

But her heart was filled with so much joy she felt it might burst.
