As Buffy approached the group she saw that Giles and Dawn had joined them. “Hi guys, you gonna train or watch?” She asked the pair.

“Well I thought it was time that Dawn observed some of the finer points of combat.” Giles stated in his very British accent.

“Oh cool, is there anything in particular you’d like to see.” Buffy asked.

“No, no just carry on as if we’re not here.” Giles replied.

“Ok.” Buffy turned back to the SIT’s, she called them to order and asked them to pair up, she made sure that each pair were suitably balanced and that there wasn’t really anyone who was able to dominate the other.

She wanted to show them the techniques she used when fighting hand-to-hand. She demonstrated a few different moves she showed a form of attack and how to defend it. She then asked the girls to choose offence or defence and asked them to continue. She walked around them observing their movements, stopping to help the ones who were struggling a little, and altering stances and movements as she spotted the errors.

Dawn and Giles watched from the side, they too noticed that some of the SIT’s were better than the others.

“Why is there so much difference between them all?” Dawn asked him quietly not to disturb the training session.

“Well you see, each slayer is an individual, their fighting techniques differ depending on who they are. As you know Buffy is a much different fighter to Faith, Buffy tries to get the kill smoothly and safely where as Faith used to take pleasure in beating her opponent into submission before the kill. Their main objective is the same, how they complete their task can be radically different.” Giles explained.

“But what if they all receive the same kinda training, wouldn’t that make them fight the same?” She was intrigued.

“No not really, you will find that similarities will be formed but on the whole training is used to hone and develop a slayers natural ability, they are born with their own defence mechanism that allows them the power and agility that you see before you, however each individual has a slightly different method to another. To the untrained eye you would not be able to see the unique characteristics of each slayer but as you watch them you will become aware of each girls preferred battle plan.” Giles watched the SIT’s as they were instructed to increase the speed of their movements.

Buffy called them to a halt and asked them to take five minutes, she needed to show the girls how to ba, sh, she couldn’t demonstrate on one of them because they would be too slow. She ran inside and paged Faith to join them.

Soon the brunette slayer had made her way to the training area. She winked at Buffy as she walked up to her. “Couldn’t wait to see me huh?” She whispered to the blond. Buffy blushed a little but nodded her head in answer to the question.

“Ok girls, if I can have your attention for a moment, me and Faith are gonna show you some different moves, Faith will attack and I’ll counter. All pay attention cos we ain’t gonna slow anything down, I need you to see the speed at which you have to attack, disarm and kill your target.” She told them.

She moved into the middle of the group with Faith following her. She turned to face the other slayer and winked. “Think you can take me F.” She smirked.

“Anytime B.” Faith smirked back.

They began to move slowly at first, each waiting for the other to strike, the SIT’s watched carefully aith ith lunged forward feigning a left to Buffy’s mid section and quickly dropping to the floor for a leg sweep. Buffy sensed the movement and quickly jumped over Faith’s leg. Soon they were trading blows, no punch or kick was landed, Buffy blocked Faith’s quickening attack with speed and precision. They moved around gracefully as if in some kind of ritual dance. The SIT’s stood amazed at the speed of the slayers, they could barely keep track of the movements.

Buffy held up her hand when she felt that the SIT’s had seen enough and Faith backed off a little. They were both breathing heavily and Buffy couldn’t help but stare at the rise and fall of the brunette’s chest. Dawn had been watching the slayers and even though she had seen Buffy fight she had never seen her as well matched as when she fought Faith. They seemed to know exactly what the other was thinking and easily blocked and countered each attack, they seemed to move as one.

“Wow!” Rebie clapped from her vantage point bringing Buffy’s attention back to the class.

The other girls nodded their approval and some were still stood open mouthed at the display of expert fighting they had been privy to. Faith took a slight bow and smiled at the smaller slayer in front of her.

“Ok girls that’s all for today. You can reconvene here tomorrow morning for Kennedy’s session.” Buffy told the SIT’s, they all smiled, even though they were slayers they still hadn’t gained enough stamina and were all feeling tired and sore.

“So what d’you think?” Buffy turned to her watcher.

“Well I’d say you’re doing a fine job Buffy.” Giles replied smiling at his charge.

“Yeah Buff, you were amazing, I don’t think I’ve ever seen you so focused.” Dawn added.

“Well it’s not so hard when there’s no apocalypse looming.” She smiled at her sister. She was proud of her, she was stunned at the amount of time and energy the teen was putting into her studies to become a watcher. It seemed a natural ability for Dawn to survey a situation, she seemed to have grown up very quickly and was no longer the flippant young girl she used to be.

“Um are ya finished with me only I told K I’d go see her this afternoon, she said she wanted some tips on what to show the girls next.” Faith asked.

“Well I’m finished for now.” Buffy raised her eyebrows at the brunette.

Faith moved in closing the gap between them, she quickly kissed Buffy on the lips, and turned to head back into the house.

“I see your date went well.” Dawn smiled at her sister.

“Yep it did.” Buffy answered quietly.

Buffy and Dawn spent the rest of the afternoon together. They hadn’t been able to spend much time alone since they had left Sunnydale. They walked around the grounds and just enjoyed each other’s company. Buffy told Dawn about her date with Faith and also told her that they had decided to give things a go. She explained they were going to take things slow and that they were both nervous about it.

Dawn had enquired if either of them had ever had a relationship of any kind with another woman and Buffy had explained that the whole girl on girl thing was new to both of them.

They made their way back into the house in time for dinner, the SIT’s were already gathered around the large oak dining table, as they entered and took their places at the table they were joined by the rest of the Scoobies. They tried when they could to share meals with the others they felt like they were part of a huge family.

Andrew had once again prepared a fantastic feast for everyone he seemed to have the kitchen department in good hands, he had chosen a couple of the younger SIT’s to help him and they were all learning new skills.

Everyone tucked into the food and talked amongst themselves, Faith noticed that Wood kept looking over at her and Buffy and she felt a little awkward. When the meal was finished and the plates were cleared she decided to approach him, she didn’t want there to be any kind of atmosphere between them.

“Hey uh Robin can I talk to you for a sec?” She asked quietly.

“Sure Faith what is it.” He replied in a dry tone.

“Look about me and Buffy, I’m sorry but it’s something I want, I know I told you I had to find myself and shit, but I don’t feel lost when I’m with her.” She explained.

“It’s ok Faith, it’s just hard ya know seeing you together.” He replied with a small smile.

“You sure, only I want us to be friends an all.” She asked him.

“Of course I’m sure, we’ve all been through a lot lately and as long as we can find some kind of happiness it’s all good.” He replied honestly, sure he was jealous of Buffy but he could already sense a change in the dark slayer.

“Thanks.” Faith replied and walked back over to her partner.

“Hey girlfriend.” Buffy greeted her.

“Mmmm I like the sound of that.” Faith smiled.

“Yeah me to.” Buffy returned. “Everything ok with Wood?” Buffy asked concerned, she knew what had happened between Faith and him before they faced The First. She also knew that Faith had turned him down when they were in LA, she didn’t want to be the cause of any problems between them.

“Yeah, it’s ok, he said he’s happy for us.” Faith stated smiling.

“I’m glad.” Buffy returned the smile.

“So you ready for some sleep?” Faith asked with a lopsided grin.

“Well I’m ready for bed, but I don’t think there’s gonna be much sleep, see I got the chance of sharing a bed with a really sexy brunette, but I think she might be tired.” Buffy replied smirking at her now girlfriend.

“Oh I think she’ll stay awake long enough.” Faith replied with a wink.

“Ok come on then.” Buffy pulled Faith out of the sitting room and back up to their apartments.

They entered Buffy’s apartment and made their way to the living area, Faith plopped herself onto the couch and pulled the blond onto her lap. She wrapped her arms around the petite form and placed gentle kissed along Buffy’s neck. Buffy couldn’t help but groan at the feel of Faith’s lips.

Buffy lowered her head a little and caught the full lips with her own, they shared a searing kiss as they pulled each other closer. Buffy moved so she was straddling Faith’s thighs. Faith leaned onto the back of the couch and placed her hand either side of Buffy’s hips. They continued to kiss, Buffy sucked on Faith’s bottom lip and when she heard the soft moan she gently nibbled it with her teeth.

Faith moved her right hand up and into the long golden locks, she tangled her fingers in Buffy’s hair and pulled Buffy closer crashing their lips together. Buffy placed her hand on the couch at both sides of Faiths face, she started to gently rock back and forth against the brunette.

Faith could feel Buffy’s subtle movements and let her left hand trail across to Buffy’s tight ass, she pulled Buffy in closer and helped control the movements. She began to move her own hips in rhythm with the blond.

Buffy could feel herself getting wet, she could feel the seam of her pants rubbing her every time she moved. She could feel Faith moving under her and her hand on her ass squeezing and kneading with every thrust. They both started to moan together as the heat intensified between them. Even though Faith hadn’t really touched Buffy yet she could feel that the blond was close, the thought of this blew her mind and was enough to take her to the edge, she began rocking harder against the blond, trying to get as much friction between them, she moved her right hand out of Buffy’s hair down her back and onto her ass. Buffy leaned back a little but continued her movements, she looked into her girlfriends eyes and saw the lust the passion and the desire the brunette had for her.

Faith looked into Buffy’s eyes and smiled a little. As Buffy arched her back Faith took the opportunity and placed her mouth on the blonde’s right breast, she nibbled lightly at the nipple that came to greet her through the material of Buffy’s shirt. She heard a low growl leave Buffy, she glanced up at the blond who had almost a feral look in her eyes, Faith had never seen such a beautiful face. Their movements quickened a little more and the moans started to become cries of pleasure, Buffy was chanting Faith’s name over and over while Faith let out strangled cries. Faith could feel that Buffy was on the edge and bit down hard on the other girls nipple, that was enough to take Buffy hurtling over and as she came she took Faith with her.

After a few moments they come back from their high Buffy looked into the glistening pools in front of her. “Shit.” She giggled.

“Fuck.” Faith replied beginning the laugh.

“I have to say that’s never happened before.” Buffy stated.

“Ya can’t tell me ya never had the big O before.” Faith said looking at her girlfriend.

“Well not without losing a couple of items of clothing no.” Buffy replied grinning at the brunette.

“Oh, yeah I know what you mean.” Faith began to blush, realising she had just had a mind-blowing orgasm and Buffy hadn’t even touched her. ‘Fuck imagine what the real thing’s gonna be like.’ She smiled to herself.

“So you ready for bed?” Buffy wiggled her eyebrows.

Faith’s eyes widened at Buffy’s question. “Sleep silly.” Buffy prodded.

“Ah um, yeah, yeah, sleep right.” Faith stumbled.

“Come on you.” Buffy said as she removed herself from Faith’s lap and pulled the brunette up with her.

They made their way into the bedroom, Buffy used the bathroom first and changed into her night clothes. Faith followed suit, they were both snuggled into each other ready for sleep.

“Night girlfriend.” Buffy said.

“Night B.” Faith replied smiling into Buffy’s shoulder.
