Surprise

“Keep all of the doors shut. No one in. No one out. I’ve got to find me a Slayer.” Angelus said entering the gym and shutting both doors behind himself. He smiled evilly into the crowd of teens that had gathered by the door. “Hey, and no snacking just yet.”

“On it boss.” One of his lackeys said quickly scanning the gym for exits.

There were five exits, they moved quickly and had all the exits covered in a matter of seconds.

“Angelus” Spike growled softly.

“Spike?” Buffy whispered “What’s going on?”

“Angelus is here on the Master’s behalf I’ve no doubt, He …I ….talked to him and he said you killed Darla and the Master was after you…” Spike said “I’m gonna kill that bastard.”

“He wants me? I’ll kick his ass!” Buffy questioned as she took a step in Angelus’s direction.

“No Luv, don’t even think about it.” Spike said grabbing her by the arm and spinning her around. “The Master wants to kill you Luv, he sent Angelus to collect you. I can not let that happen, I’m going after Angel…” Spike said raging. “Master won’t get his bloody hands on my girl.”

“Why does the Master want to kill me? Just because I killed one vampire?l I’l I’ve killed so many others what makes her so special?” Buffy asked.

“The line of Aurilius, the Master’s line…She was his favored childe, Angelus was her Childe, therefore they both want you dead. Not gonna happen.” Spike said with barley contained rage.

“How do you know all this Spike?” Buffy asked looking up at him with tears in her eyes.

“Buffy, I don’t have time to explain everything, Angelus is playin here Luv, he *knows* your scent, he knows exactly where you are.” Spike said sighing deeply. “Angel…I’m part of his line, Vampires live like a pack Luv, Angelus…dominated me. Tried to make me…his. Drucilla and I…he left us. Now he’s trying to …” Spike stopped talking suddenly as he felt Angelus approach them.

“You thought it was over didn’t you?” Angelus asked with a wicked grin. He licked his lips seductively. “You look delicious Slayer, no wonder Spike can’t keep his dick in his pants around you.” Angel said enviously.

“Watch it Angelus.” Spike growled menacingly stepping between Angelus and Buffy.

“Get out of my way Spike…I need her to make him whole again. I have no one left, I need him.” Angelus growled invading Spike’s personal space.

“Find Buffy, I’m positive the master sent these Vampire’s here on his behalf to bring her to him.”

“She’s right there…Oh my god…her date is standing up to Angelus.” Jenny said with a shaky voice.

“Who is Angelus?” Giles asked as he sought Buffy with his eyes.

“He’s part of the Master’s line…he’s one of the worst…William the Bloody he was the worst, although in a much different way…and he’s part of the master’s line as well. They descimated half of Europe together with their mates.” Jenny said terror evident in her voice. “William…he fought and killed two Slayers. I’m sure if Angelus is here he must be too they were inseparable.”

Giles made his way to Buffy’s side.

“Giles…do something…use magic and get these kids out of here…” Buffy whispered quietly.

“Buffy I will not leave you alone…not with Angelus here…and this other vampire William the Bloody…worse than Angelus…he’s killed two Slayers and Jenny believes that he is here also.”

Buffy felt the color drain from her face.

Angelus overheard Giles words.

“You didn’t tell her William my boy?” Angelus laughed cruelly. “Hey watcher…William the Bloody is standing right here.” He said punching Spike in the face.

Spike growled menacingly but stood his ground. “Sod off you wanker. I’ll fucking dust you if you touch her. She is mine.” Spike growled menacingly and punched Angelus in the face.

Giles gasped in shock. ~ He’s the one. He’s Buffy’s mate. ~

“No! You’re lying you bastard.” Buffy yelled launching herself at Angelus. ~ Spike would never hurt me. ~

He knew she was coming and was prepared. As Buffy punched Angelus ducked and caught her arm. He used her momentum to pull her arm up over his shoulder and ran.

Spike was furious. He gave chase and the vampires at the door attacked him. Spike was so pumped he had them all dusty in seconds. All of the other vampires had seen Angelus take off with Buffy and knew their job was to now keep Spike occupied. They all rushed him.

Spike sensed them coming and his demon took over. He turned around grinning and lunged.

“Oh my god Willow do you see what I see.” Xander said looking and pointing at Spike.
“Buffy’s boyfriend is a superhero too.”

“Wow. He can really kick ass.” Willow said in awe as Spike dusted the six vampires guarding the door.

They both noticed the rest of the vampires rushing to where Spike was standing. Willow and Xander both started running in that direction, incase he needed help.

Spike’s demon taking over stopped them both dead in their tracks. “It’s him.” Willow breathed.

“It’s him who? Who him?” Xander asked confused.

“Him from the prophecy that’s who! Oh god Xander! This means Buffy is going to be ok!” Willow said excitedly.

Giles ran as fast as he could over to Jenny. “Jenny, he’s got her we have to…” Giles voice trailed off as he watched Spike dust the remaining two vamps. “Did he just?…He couldn’t have…” Giles again abruptly stopped talking as his Slayer’s boyfriend let his demon out to play. ~ It is the strangest thing to see a vampire dust other vampires. ~

“My. Girl. Is. With. That. Bastard.” Spike screamed accentuating each word by dusting a vampire. Spike growled menacingly.

The vampires around him started to rethink their tactics. Spike was having none of that and added nineteen to the six he had already dusted.

The gym was in complete silence. Everyone was watching Spike in shock. Spike chased down and dusted the last of them easily, he was running on pure instinct as he opened the door to the gym and caught Buffy’s scent. ~ My mate. Buffy. Need her. Now. ~ Spike thought following her scent.

Xander and Willow met up with Giles and Jenny, all of them on their way to the entrance.

“Did you see it Giles? Did you see *him*?” Willow said perkily.

“Yes I saw him Willow, but until we know what we are dealing with…”

“Giles…it’s gotta be the him from the prophecy.” Willow said “You should have seen the way they were with each other…” Willow was so wrapped up in what was happening that she didn’t see Oz slipping out of the gym, holding onto Veruca intimately.

Angel got through the gym doors and threw Buffy roughly against the wall hitting the back of her head and knocking her unconscious.

“Guess Spike’s not the only one that can bag a slayer.” Angel chuckled to himself. He picked Buffy up over his shoulder again and ran.

Spike followed Buffy’s scent getting more and more aggravated with each step. He growled softly when he got to the entrance.

Giles, Willow, Xander and Jenny followed Spike silently. They followed him to the entrance. They watched him enter.

“She’s in there.” Giles said flatly.

Angel ran his hand over Buffy’s throat and ripped her scarf away. ~ Spike claimed her? Shit! He’s not going to let her go that easily. ~

~ Uhhh my head. ~ Buffy thought. She felt like she’d been smashed in the back of the head with a baseball hat.

“Come on…wake up.” Angelus said gruffly slapping her across the face.

Buffy’s eyes shot open. She looked right into Aus’sus’s eyes and saw only bitter hatred.
~ Hands shacked above my head. ~ Buffy thought as she tried to move her arms.

“Welcome.” The Master said coming into Buffy’s view.

Buffy looked down at her dress, then back up at the Master. She took a quick glance around and noticed that she was in the exact spot she’d been in, in her dream. ~ I’m so screwed. ~ She thought.

All three of them sensed his presence and turned towards the entrance.

~ Spike. ~ Buffy’s thoughts screamed happily at her. She could feel her body and her bloollinlling out to him.

“Spike?” Angelus asked incredulously. “Wh…how did …”

“William. It’s been a long time.” The Master growled threateningly. “Why did you come back here? To MY town?”

Spike had never felt like this before. Rage and anger. ~ Buffy. ~ Was his only thought as he stalked into the alcove.

Spike knew they were talking to him. He knew but all he saw was Buffy chained up and something in him snapped. Something primal in him shuddered with barley contained rage. With an in human growl he launched himself at the Master.

Angelus was too stunned to move. The sight of Spike so untamed and angry. He’d never seen him like this. Hostility and passion warring on his demonic features. Spike had never been like this, as much as Angelus hurt and tortured Spike nothing had prepared him for this. ~ We shouldn’t have…we shouldn’t have tried to take her. ~ Angel thought.

Spike smashed his fist into the Master’s face. He heard the satisfying crunch of bone as the Master hit the wall and fell to the ground howling in pain.

“She’s MINE!” He growled out, hauling back and kicking the master viciously in the stomach.

“Spike have mercy. I am the master of your line.” The Master begged through broken bloody teeth. “You are a vampire, you have power why are you letting HER come between us?”

The four of them entered just in time to see Spike launch himself at the Master.

“Buffy’s chained up. We have to help her.” Willow said softly.
None of them moved as they watched.

~ Spike! ~ Buffy thought as she watched him viscously beating the master. She saw Angelus uncertain walking slowly towards Spike’s unprotected back.

Buffy grabbed the chains that held her. One in each hand. She pulled animalisticly at her chains. ~ Spike. ~ she thought desperately. One final pull and both chains ripped free of the wall they were embedded in, part of the wall attached to each one.

Buffy was on the move. She whipped the chain attached to her right wrist up and over her head and let it fly. It caught Angelus in the back and sent him flying into the wall. He was knocked unconscious.

Spike grabbed the master and hauled him to his feet. “I hope it was worth it.” He growled as he viciously sank his fangs into the Master’s throat. Spike drank deeply and then ripped his throat out. He then used his bare hands to rip the Master’s head off. The Master exploded into dust and his thick bones fell to the ground.

“Buffy we have to get you out of here.” Giles whispered grabbing her by the arm.
