Chapter 13
Slayer’s destiny
“That’s enough…Stop upsetting her…” Spike growled at the powers. “She has done enough…”
“Buffy must do this. She must complete her final tasks.” The powers said.
There was a blinding flash of light. Buffy and Spike found themselves in their bed, nestled together. “Spike oh god…was that real?” Buffy asked her fear was palpable.
“Yeah babe, it was real…I am sorry Buffy, I didn’t mean to…”
“Spike you…changed my life. You made me really happy. You changed everybody’s lives…I don’t know how to thank you. You made me forget …heaven, living without my mom…everything Angel put me through…I can’t believe all of that stuff happened…that’s why the prophecy was…remember it was like two things written on top of each other?…”
“Let’s go find out where everyone is…what time it is and what this new thing is you have to do…with my help of course. You’ll never be alone again Buffy, I swear to you I will always be by your side.”
“I know Spike, and that makes all of this a little less scary.”

Giles opened the front door “Yes? Jenny? Oh my please do come in…you are looking well.” Giles stammered completely nervous.
“Rupert…I’ve come back…this time to stay, and we have some things to talk about.”
“Yes…I suppose we do. Can I get you anything? Tea perhaps?” Giles asked “Or I could fix…”
“No…Giles I have only been gone for a year. It’s not that long…I don’t know why you are suddenly nervous around me.” Jenny chided.
“Well, Jenny why did you leave suddenly? With no word of explanation? Not even a short note telling me you were leaving. I call and your phone is disconnected, your place belongs to someone else …the school had no idea how to contact you…How could you leave like that?”
“My family came to get me…my job was done. They just whisked me away without asking me what I wanted. They didn’t know that I had…You and friends and a life here all they knew was I was here to make sure Angel’s soul stayed intact. When he got dusty, they just assumed…that I would want to leave, they were wrong and I am sorry. I really had no choice at all Rupert. They wouldn’t let me contact anyone from here. There was always someone with me. Is it possible that you could forgive me?”
“Things fall apart, they fall apart so hard..” Giles stated
“Giles?”
“You can't ever just... put 'em back the way they were...”
“Are you okay?”
“I'm sorry, it's just...” Giles said sighing “You know it takes time. You can't just... have tea and expect”
“I know.”
“There's just so much to work through. Trust has to build again, on both sides...you have to learn if... if we're even the same people we were, if you can fit in each other's lives, it's a long and important process and ... can we just skip it? Can you... can you just be kissing me now?” Giles asked suddenly
Jenny was in his arms in an instant both molding into each other’s embrace “Jenny I have missed you so…so much” Giles said as he broke the kiss to look into her eyes.”
Jenny looked down to the floor. “I…have something to tell you…there’s something I found out…shortly after I left and…Rupert you are a father.” Jenny said looking into his eyes.
“But…How…what?” Giles asked sinking down onto the couch. “Jenny how could you not …tell me…contact me…something? And why the bloody hell are you back here now?” Giles asked suddenly angry.
“Well, they, my family put a forgetting spell on me…I tried so hard to remember…I couldn’t. They wouldn’t let me remember…I knew I was pregnant but…I didn’t know Rupert. Then when the baby was 2 months old I got really depressed, and tried to kill myself. I ended up in the hospital for a month. That’s when they removed the spell. As soon as I got out of the hospital I came here. I told my family everything I remembered and…they’re my family they tried to do what they thought was right. They knew we weren’t married…and then when I tried to explain it to them…I’m sorry…would you like to meet your child?”
“Of course I would…you really are back to stay? Your family will not try to interfere anymore?”
“No I told them how important you are to me…what you meant to my life…how…important it was for me to decide what to do with my life now that I am free, We had a year stolen from us…please can we try?”
“I want to try…I want to believe you Jenny…” Giles said standing up to take her in his arms again.

It was about four in the morning, Tara had just woken up and Spike carrying her into his and Buffy’s room was talking quietly to her. “Princess, Mommy is still asleep, she had a long night, so we’ll just go in and quietly cuddle her ok?” She cooed at him in response. “That’s a good girl.” Spike said opening the bedroom door.
She is so beautiful he thought to himself as he gazed at Buffy’s sleeping form.
Spike gently placed Tara on the bed and crawled in beside her. Tara curled up next to him and was asleep within minutes.

“And another thing? I just want you to know...” She said as she slammed Buffy into a support pillar and pummelled her.
“The whole "beat ya to death" thing I'm doing? It's valuable time out of life that I'm never gonna get back.”
Buffy tried to fight back but Glory grabbed both her arms and wrenched them downward. Buffy cried out in pain.
“Wait, I've always wanted to try this. You know that thing with worms where if you have one, you rip it in half, you got two worms? Do you think that'll work with you?”
Buffy slammed her head into Glory's face and broke free. Glory cried out in shock. “You hit me! What, are you crazy?”
Buffy pressed the attack, hitting and kicking for all she was worth, forced Glory backward, but her blows seem more to offend Glory than injure her.
“You can't go around hitting people. What, were you born in a barn? Fine. Be that way.” Glory yelled easily blocking Buffy's next blow and swung her around into the wall. She sent a blow for Buffy's head but the Slayer ducked at the last instant and Glory's fist punched through the concrete. Glory picked Buffy up by the throat and held her there, as she gasped for air.
“I just noticed something. You have super powers. That is so cool. Can you fly?”
“Buffy luv, you ok?” Spike asked shaking her awake.
“I’m fine…I know my next task.” Buffy stated “And this time…things are gonna go a little different.”
