Chapter 12
A/N: thanks for the reviews, sorry about the whole paragraph thing im trying to make it easier {honest} ;-)
Chapter 12....
The sound of coughing brought Angelus' attention back to Xander who wasn't looking that good. He had spent the most of the day taking a beating from the vampire and listening to him talk about Buffy and Spike, that piece of information was still freaking him out but he'd gthemthem a thousand blessings if they got him out of the situation he was currently in.
"your awake boy" it wasnt a question and Xander knew he wasnt supposed to answer so he just raised his head to look up under the swelling of his eyes. "I think i might get in touch with our little slutty today, what do you think?" he walked slowly toward the chair and placed his fingers underneath Xanders chin digging them in.
"I asked you a question boy, dont insult me by not answering" he brought the tip of a knife across his chin replacing his finger making Xander wince in pain, "Well it doesnt look like i'll be getting an answer out of you so i may just have to go and find Buffy and ask her how wantwants me to kill you, im sure by now she's sick of rescuing your sorry ass and would be thankful for me helping with the solution" he laughed out loud to himself and ran the knife down Xanders arm just piercing the skin slightly before walking out and heading for Revello drive.
"Giles do we know anything that is gonna help?" Buffy burst into the magic shop and stopped to find Faith sitting e, \e, "Hey! your never one with the research whatcha doin?" Faith looked up and smiled at the blonde chossing to ignore the comment knowing there was more important things to be doing. Buffy smiled back grateful for the other slayers help and turned her attention back to Giles. "So? is there anything new for us to go on?"
Giles removed his glasses and started to clean them, "Actually there is something but we dont know whether its going to help or not" he sat down next to Faith and took the book off her that she was starting to fold pages in with an annoyed look on his face. "Willow called about ten minutes ago to say that they think they know why Angel turned, Lorne overheard a couple of lawyers from a firm called Woolfram and Heart in Caritas bragging about the Souled vampire taking a turn for the worse, so to speak" he stood up again as the shop door opened and a customer walked to the counter.
After the customer left Spike tried to start the conversation again "Come on Rupert you were up to the part of telling us why my grand sired poof is suddenly bad again" Buffy shot him a look and he stepped back with his hands up and an innocent look spread across his face, she gestured for Giled to carry on.
"Right yes, they talked about a substance used to completly put somebody at ease and under the illusion of bliss, it has been used on Angel once before but the affects had worn off before any damage was made. The affects apparently become worse the longer he's allowed to feed from human blood and there will be a chance we cant revert him back"
The air suddenly became thin and Buffy had to sit down, she didnt want Angel back in any sexual way but she couldnt kill Angelus but she couldnt let him live as he was. "We have to stop him Giles, the big metal cage in the back,really not much use if we cant find the one we're supposed to lock inside of it" she became aware of somebody stroking her hair and she leaned into the touch letting out a sigh of relief at the contact with Spike, she'd quickly realised that he had a calming effect on her just by a touch.
Giles watched the display of affection infront of him and was quite surprised that he wasnt surprised, his slayer seemed content amidst everything that was happening around her and it had alot to do with Spike vampire or not. The same worries were there as they were with Angel of course but Spike had been good to Buffy and it was clear the blonde vampire was very much in love soul or not.
He was broken from his thoughts by Buffy waving a hand infront of his face "Giles? did you hear anything i said?" he shook himself out of his thoughts and smiled his watcher like smile "I heard you Buffy and i promise this will be over soon, Angelus will show up when he gets bored and by previous experience he gets bored very quickly. Go home and get some rest i'll see you back here tomorrow morning and we'll figure something out then, Faith you too thanks for your help today".
As Buffy, Spike and Faith headed for the Summers house they noticed the lights on in Buffy's bedroom, before Buffy could speak Spike was climbing up the tree outside her bedroom. She ran after him inside the house and ran up the stairs to find Spike being held by the throat by Angelus. She dragged him off and threw him across the room, "Keep your hands off him" she snarled checking Spike was ok, "Well Well look at you sticking up for your fuck toy" he spat at her standing up, he was met with a fist to the jaw and he retaliated with a punch to her mouth. Spike ran at him and kicked him in the chest, the image of his sire smacking Buffy made him see red and he wanted to kill him, he punched him repeatedly in the face while he was on the floor and didnt realise he was in Vamp face and getting the better of the demon that taught him. Angelus tried to fight back but the rage in his childe gave him an upper hand and one that he hadn't counted on him having, he knew at that moment it wasn't good.
Buffy watched the display in front of her shocked that this reaction from Spike was because Angel had hit her, apart from being worried about where the fight would lead she was incredibly turned on at the possesiveness Spike showed.She pushed the arousal away and blushed when she noticed Spike sniffing the air and punching Angel again with a grin on his face.
Sheed oed over to the two fighting vampires and smacked Angel in the head with the bat she'd picked up knocking him unconscious and shouted to Faith to pass up a rope. She ran her fingers over Spikes forehead tracing the outline of his vampiric features as she had once done before with Angel and kissed him gently before bending to pick up the vampire on the floor and dragging him towards Spikes De Soto.
