MIDNIGHT AND ROSES - CHAPTER 12
Spike stood hesitantly outside the huge oaken doors to the library wondering why Giles had requested to see him in the middle of the day. Better be bloody important, the blond vampire mused to himself, to interrupt his beauty sleep. He sniffed and pulled himself up to his full height, gathered up all his bravado, then knocked loudly and waited to be invited in.
“Enter.” Giles’ muffled voice caught Spike’s sensitive ears. He put his hand on the doorknob and let himself in.
“Won’t you sit down, Spike?” Giles gestured toward a comfortable, overstuffed chair next to a small table where he had laid out several ancient looking parchments and books.
Spike obediently flopped down and threw one leg casually over a padded armrest, then fumbled in his duster for his cigarettes and lighter. Scanning the enormous paneled room filled to overflowing with age old texts, he memorized every nook and cranny as he waited for Giles to speak.
The Watcher stared in horror as Spike lit his cigarette and took a long drag before blowing out little smoke rings into the air. He couldn’t believe that the blond vampire would be so careless as to smoke in a room filled with priceless books. But, it was Spike he was dealing with and although he wanted to snatch that cigarette out of Spike’s mouth and give him a good lecture on etiquette, he just bit his tongue instead and took a deep breath.
“Why didn’t you tell anyone?” Giles asked quietly.
“Tell anyone wot?” Spike took a long drag on his cigarette and looked warily at the Watcher.
“William Pratt... William the Bloody... High Master William of Aurelius... Spike... Oh, have I missed any?” Giles asked sarcastically as he threw paper after paper on the table in front of Spike.
“You’re bloody royalty, for gods sake...” the Watcher huffed, then picked up a yellowed and tattered page from one of the open books on the table and gently lay it in front of the small vampire. He pointed to a portrait that looked uncannily like Spike, but without the bleached blond hair.
Spike looked at the picture and smirked. “Took you long enough, dinnit?”
“Everyone thought you were a pitiful excuse for a vampire, Spike... you were living in a crypt and scavenging to stay alive until you met Angel and moved in with him...” Giles took off his glasses and began to polish them furiously.
“Well, yeah. But never hid it on purpose.” Spike narrowed his eyes and shifted uneasily in his seat, wondering what Giles planned to do with his new found information. Against his better judgement, Spike held up his left hand and pointed to one of the rings, hoping to change the subject once the Watcher’s curiosity was satisfied.
“See this?”
Giles put on his glasses and stared intently at the silver ring with intricate carvings Spike was pointing to.
“The Seal of Aurelius,” he whispered reverently.
“Was always there,” Spike said as he wiggled his fingers, trying not to let his distrust cloud his air of false bravado. “None of you lot ever paid me much mind, else you’d have guessed long before this.”
“Spike, I... I’m truly sorry,” Giles stammered. “This changes everything. You deserve the respect of your rank, the respect of the Council, and of course, mine as well. A vampire of your station and power...”
“Should keep ‘is feet planted firmly on the ground!” Spike growled, not happy at all that Giles might compromise what he had hoped would be a well kept secret.
Spike angrily stubbed out his cigarette on the parchment bearing his picture before he rose to his feet and leaned over the table to face Giles, his nose almost touching the Watcher’s.
“Nothin’ changes, Watcher. We never had this conversation, yeah?” Spike stared hard at Giles before he turned on his heels, his leather duster billowing out behind him as he strode swiftly toward the door.
“Spike... there’s something you should know,” Giles called after the small vampire, but it was too late.
Spike had already left the building.

Angel groaned softly as he unconsciously rubbed his raging erection against the slick channel his dripping sex had made in the sheets. He clutched his pillow tightly while his hips moved deftly against the mattress as he dreamed about his beautiful vampire...
Spike’s lust-filled eyes never left Angel’s as he moved fluidly between his human’s wantonly spread legs. He savored the grunts of pleasure that escaped involuntarily from Angel’s lips as he sawed in and out of that tight pucker, making the big man groan in ecstacy with every pass of his big cock over his prostate.
Wrapping his strong arms around Spike, Angel pulled him down, crushing him to his chest so he could pepper him with wild, hungry kisses. He urged Spike to move faster, harder with every thrust into his willing body by bucking up to meet his lover's lunges and panting out incoherent words of encouragement.
Vampire and human strained to keep pace with each other, their breaths and movements becoming more ragged as they spiraled out of control toward completion. They cried out harshly and clung together tightly, both moaning and keening as the exquisite pain of orgasm overtook them. Finally, when they could endure no more, they hissed each other’s name out through clenched teeth and convulsed to climax together...
A strangled moan escaped from Angel’s lips when he exploded onto the sheets, shocking him to awareness in a matter of moments. His hand went down to stroke his pulsing shaft as it emptied out the last few drops of his spunk and he groaned in frustration as it quickly went limp in his fist.
Sighing heavily, Angel looked wistfully at Spike’s side of the bed. Moonlight shone softly on the empty space and he missed not having his pale lover plastered against him for warmth and comfort. He couldn’t wait for Spike to come home and make all of his wet dreams come true.
Angel slowly rolled out of bed. He proceeded to pull the soiled sheets off, using them to wipe up the cum on himself before he threw them into the hamper.
Then he staggered into the bathroom for a piss and a shower.
