Willow took a step forward to place a comforting hand on his
shoulder. Spike growled softly, but allowed her hand to remain.

Giles had tears streaming down his face. 'Buffy. I am so sorry…I was
so wrong…how could I have been this wrong?' Giles thought taking in
the grieving vampire before him.

Xander and the other two girls watched in shock as Spike held Buffy's
lifeless form and rocked her, silent sobs wracking his body.

Buffy could feel him. All around her. 'Spike. I love you.' She
thought as she calmly walked towards the light.

After about 10 minutes Willow whispered gently "Spike…Spike we have
to…"

"NO! No red please…give me some time…I can't ….I can't let her go…"
Spike sobbed into Buffy's hair. "I …I love her so much…I can't…"

"Oh….Oh Spike…ok take some time to …say good-bye" Willow said softly,
tears forming behind her eyes. Sheked ked over to comfort Giles and
Xander who both had tears running down their faces.

"Willow…how could I have been so blind?" Giles asked. "Look at how
devastated he is….how could I have not seen that? It's my fault you
know…. It's my fault… she's…she's…. What have I done?" Sobs wracked
the watcher's body and he swayed on his feet.

Xander and Willow caught him before he could fall. The three of them
sank to the ground holding each other, silent sobs wracking all three
bodies.

Tara and Anya clung to each other and watched the scene unfolding
before them. There was such grief and turmoil none of them noticed
Spike's excited grunts and mewls of pleasure.

Buffy entered what appeared to be a cave of some sort. A Beautiful
Angel was walking towards Buffy. The Angel glowed with a beautiful
inner Light.

"Well…hello Slayer. Are you ready?" She asked in a beautiful sing
song voice.

"Ready? Ready for what?" Buffy asked.

"To go back of course." The Angel smiled indulgently.

"Go back where?" She asked wide-eyed and full of wonder.

"To your life sweetie. You have to go back. You are not made to die.
Child you are immortal. The only reason you have come here is so I
could explain this to you." The Angel took Buffy by the hand and sat
her on a beautiful rock bench. It was ornately carved and had red
velvet draped over the seat.

"What do you mean I am immortal?" Buffy asked incredulously. "How can
I be immortal? That's not how the Slayer line works…" Buffy said, a
hint of pacreecreeping in to her voice. "It's impossible."

"No dear child. You are the one. You will change the world…You must
change the world." The Angel sighed softly.

"No…no I can't be the one…" Buffy said softly.

"But you are Slayer…Do you think that changing a vampire, especially
*that* vampire was just a coincidence? William the Bloody, Slayer of
Slayers, has claimed you, because of that bond and the bond you made
when you claimed him you have changed the world sweetheart."

"But…but how?" She asked. "What does this mean?"

"When you claimed each other you formed an unbreakable bond. Each
time you die, you will die for a few minutes and then you will enter
your mortal body again. Your body will heal and you will be right as
rain. And each time you die a new Slayer be be called to guard
another Hellmouth. Until they are all guarded, when each of them dies
a new slayer will be called in their place to guard the Hellmouth
they are protecting, until they are all guarded. Then you and your
mate will then lead a strike against Evil." The Angel smiled softly
at her.

"You mean Spike? Me and Spike …?" Buffy asked elated.

"Yes child. You have just found each other do you think the fates
would be that cruel? To take you from him when you have just
completed?"

"What do you mean completed?" Buffy asked

"You have found your other half dear one. That is what has changed
the world, and the fates." The Angel smiled. "Now go …Your vampire…I
fear he can not take a long separation. Do not worry dear one there
will be others along the way to help answer some of your questions."
She replied and with that she was gone.

Spike could feel her heart start…it was low and slow, but it was
steady, it kept getting stronger.

Spike couldn't contain his happiness. He was grunting and rubbing his
face excitedly in her hair. `She's ok! How can she be Ok?' He thought
Mewling into her ear.

Buffy was floating. She felt her grievous wound healing. It itched
and burned. It hurt. She could feel her heart start to beat. `Wow.
Spike.' Buffy gasped for breath. "Spike…" She whispered.

"Buffy…" He growled against her. He placed his hands around her face
and kissed her softly, tenderly. "Love you baby…you came back to me…"
He sobbed pulling her against his body.

"Spike…I'm ok…I'm alive…" She whispered. "I came back to you…" She
could feel his cool body molto hto hers.

"Buffy!!!" Willow smed.med. She had heard Spike's words and was
running over to her friend. "You're alive…Oh my god…how are you
alive…?" She asked.

"Guys…I …I just want some time…with Spike…please…" Buffy said softly as
he helped her to her feet. He held on to her and wouldn't let her
go. "I…I promise I will explain it all to you …later …I just need to …
be with Spike." She said wrapping her arms around him.

"Ok Buffy…whatever you need" Willow said softly.

Giles walked over. He didn't say a word. He embraced Buffy and Spike
in a crushing hug, sobbing. "Thank you for being Ok…" He whispered
before letting them go.

"I'll see you guys tomorrow." Buffy said softly.

Spike picked her up and carried her all the way to his new place. He
purred against her neck, where he marked her the whole way. Buffy
wondered where they were going since she had not been there yet.
Spike cooed and kissed her before entering the house. He was so
thrilled to have her alive and in his arms, he couldn't wipe the grin
off his face.

Dru moaned and cried in Angel's arms. "She's seeing the Angel." She
whispered in her sleep.
