new love, lost love

The smell of damp was the first thing Xander noticed when he slowly awoke, the second thing being he was tied to a chair. "Well now this is just like de ja vu only with you instead of good ol Rupert isnt it boy?" Xander felt a finger tracing the back of his neck and looked up to find Angelus grinning at him. He tried to move his hands to no avail and heard the vampire laughing, "come on boy, do you really think after 200 plus years of torturing people id be stupid enough to leave the ropes so loose even you could escape" he grabbed the back of his hair and pulled his head up so he was looking at him "i dont think our little vampire whore would be too impressed if she found i was off my game now would she" he let go of his head and Xander looked at the floor again. "leave Buffy out of this" he said just loud enough for Angelus to hear,

"come on now,we're all friends here, oh wait we're not! anyway this is just the beginning for our Buffy, i think i waited too long last time because i never did get to kill any of her friends, well there was miss Calendar and that was fun but no-one close enough to break her fragile little heart" he punched Xander in the face and was satisfied to see blood pouring from above his right eye. "Maybe your not the right person to do it either" he started pacing in front of Xander never going more than a few feet away "I could always find that peroxide idiot childe of mine and kill him that might work" he stopped pacing and saw a flicker of thought go through his hostage "Ah did we not know that, now how was it put to me oh yes slutty the vampire slayer, is fucking the vampire you hate most disregarding me naturally"



Xanders head shot up and looked at him in disbelief "Your wrong, Buffy would never even go there!" he struggled with the ropes again and felt a blow to the jaw causing his face to errupt in pain. "Dont ever disagree with me boy it'll turn out badly for you, i know what sex smells like and the pair of them reek of eachother" Xander tried to speak but was rewarded with a blow to the head and the last thing he saw was blackness.



"Pet slow down it's not gonna help Xander if you wear yourself out already now is it" he ran to catch up with her and grabbed hold of her hand trying to reassure her, "I know Spike but i have to find him, if Angelus has done anything to him i couldnt cope, after the last time when he killed Jenny i..." Spike pulled her into him and stroked her hair gently while she sobbed quietly into his duster "Sshh its ok pet, let it out then i promise we'll find him" she looked up at him with tears in her eyes and kissed him softly on the lips "Thankyou"



The sound of growling comng from behind them made them pull apart and turn around to see two fledglings by one of the gravestones, Buffy started laughing as she realised one of them was stuck trying to get out of his grave "Do any of you actually have brains when you die or does being a vampire make you automatically stupid?" Spike looked at her with mock hurt on his face "Now thats harsh slayer, some of us are actually quite clever, yours truly for instance" they both started laughing now and the vampires watched with confused expressions. The vamp that was stuck turned to the other "Slayer? whats a slayer?" he pulled his foot free and they both started to circle Buffy and Spike.



"So Spike, what do you think, shall we give them a get out of jail free card?" she faced the blonde vampire and he shook his head "Nah". they both ran at the vampires and dusted them without any complications, they hadnt even had the chance to fight back before they were blowing in the wind. "Im glad that went quickly we dont have time for this" Spike nodded and and grabbed her hand again leading the search.



Buffy and Spike entered the Summers house three hours after they left without any result both collapsing on the couch. "Arrgh i cant believe we didnt find anything Xander could be dead by now" Buffy hit the cushions in frustration then pulled one to her chest hugging it. Spike sat down beside her and stroked the side of her face "Angelus is clever luv, he wont kill him until he lets you in on it, trust me he will want you to know when its happening" he kissed her forehead and stood up heading for the kitchen "Do you want anything pet? i need to feed and im sure you do too" he watched her face for a minute and she nodded silently in agreement "Well luv im sure i can whip something up for you".

Ten minutes later Spike entered the living room to find Buffy sleeping on the couch, he knew she should eat but he didnt have the heart to wake her so he put the plate on the floor, kissed her forehead softly and and took the chair next to her watching her sleep.



Buffy jumped up and ran the phone to stop the loud ringing noise in her ears, "Hello" she knocked the phone of the side table and scrambled to pick it up "No wait im here, Willow is that you?" feeling suddenly awake Buffy sat down and listened to her friend "Uh huh, yeah, will it work? right ok, be careful Wills, and Will?, ill find him i promise" she hung up the phone and for the first time noticed the sleeping vampire on the chair. she walked over and gently played with his hair ((stupid vampire, i could've killed you by now and you'd sleep through it)) she smiled to herself and stood up to make coffee tripping on the plate with beans on toast on it that Spike had made her the previous night. Despite the mess on the floor Buffy laughed at the gesture, he'd actually cooked for her, ok it was beans on toast but the thought was there, she picked up the plate and headed for the kitchen.



The smell of warm blood woke the vampire and he followed the smell to see Buffy standing by the micowave warming a cup for him, he silently moved behind her and placed a soft kiss on the back of her neck, "You know pet i could have killed you then and you didnt even know i was there" she spinned round to face and kissed him passionatly wrapping her hands around his waist, after she pulled back for air she swatted him on the arm "Like you can talk sleeping beauty" she laughed again and was greeted with a grin from him before he grabbed her into another kiss. "God Buffy i could stay like this with you for the rest of my unlife" she hugged him in to her and breathed in the smell of him, she was getting used to being with him already but she hadnt really said it out loud yet especially with the situation they were dealing with. She whispered something in to his jacket and if it wasnt for the vampire hearing he wouldn't have heard it but he did and he sqeezed her tightly smiling to himself.
