Christine: Thanks for the reveiw. I didn't realise it could get confusing Sorry. Their aren't that many OC's but I have mentioned alot of characters off both Buffy and Angel that you wouldn't know if you never watched said shows. Here is a low down of original characters and if you want a low down of all characters or specific ones just tell me. My main OC is mystery girl/Thyme/Tori Keecher. She was mystery girl before she gave herself a name and she is only referred to as Tori when talking about her life before she was turned into a vampire. The last couple of chapters Spike and Angel have been trying to find her because she is the new AI case. Now there were the two good Samaritans in Chapter 1, 1 died and one ran we won't see them again. A slayer named Tiffany was mentioned once in chapter 2, she's gone. And three hookers named Charlie, Daisy and Veronica took Thyme in for a couple of nights, they also will never appear again. Hope that helps and you keep reading
Amy: Glad you like, Xander will appear within the next twenty-four hours of the story not real time. Don't worry I haven't forgotten him
Chapter Eleven
Spike’s POV
Shit, Angel quickly whips around and gets up shielding me from view while I fix myself up.
‘I don’t think so vampire.’ I move beside him and see the girl, shit, it’s the one we’ve been following. She stands for a moment seemingly puzzled by Angel’s words before replying.
‘Vampire? Is that what I am? Well it explains the blood and sun and mirrors. How did you know what I am before I did?’ I stand there momentarily amazed. I don’t think this chick is playing with a full deck of cards. This close to her I can see her yet to be healed wounds. Shit someone had fun with her. I feel sorry for her but that doesn’t mean I won’t kill her. ‘Wait a minute. You two don’t actually smell alive, are you vampires too? Well I’m sorry then I was just looking for something to eat. I’ll leave you to it then.’
Just like that she turns to leave.
‘Hey.’ Angel yells and she turns round and comes back.
‘What you would like me to join in?’ Angel in response punches her in the face while I move around behind her pulling out a stake. She comes up in vampire face licking the blood from her nose. ‘That wasn’t very nice.’ Then she attacks him. It’s obvious that she hasn’t had training but she punches him in the stomach and he hits the wall before sliding down. She starts to turn around but I grab her round the waist and she starts punching and kicking. I change into vampire face and bite her neck, its an instinct thing. I taste her blood and then stop in shock, how on earth? ‘Hold her still.’ I look up and Angel’s about to stake her.
‘No!’ I yell out, ‘Angel she has a soul.’ I release her and she falls to the ground. He looks the same way I feel, bewildered.
‘You sure?’ He asks knowing the answer, I just nod. Angel advances on her, she’s still on the ground, clutching her neck and whimpering.
Thyme’s POV
I lay on the floor of the filthy gutter my neck bleeding. I feel an overwhelming urge to hide, I can’t fight them, I want to run and find somewhere safe to hide. The bigger dark haired man walks over to me and I try to become smaller against the hard concrete beneath me.
“Hey I’m Angel. What’s your name?” Why is he trying to be nice but condescending? Why isn’t he hitting me? I decide to reply.
“I’m Thyme,” and I stand up rallying myself to prepare for whatever happens next. There must be some reason why they are in my hallucination, I’d better just play along.
“ I’m Spike. Sorry about the bite but do ya mind explaining why ya killing humans.” The skinny blond one asks this, what a peculiar question.
“Well I was hungry and why is the vampire in my hallucination asking me why I’m eating figments of my imagination. Your not a shrink in real life are you?” They give each other a look that I can’t decipher. “Are we going to fight now?”
“Well I sure ain't leaving without a good fight,” comes a voice from around the corner.
Angel’s POV
I swing around to face a gang of twenty vampires. Maybe I should have reconsidered bringing a weapon bigger than a stake. I look across at Spike and then at Thyme. Where the hell did she pick that name from? How can we fight them and stop her from running away.
“Good cos I really need to fight someone, I’ve had a rough couple of days,” Thyme answers the challenge. She is definitely crazy.
“What your going to fight on the side of your attackers? Do you know what they do to other vampires?” She just stares at him. “Well your dusting lady”, and then he charges. She charges too and in an extremely clichéd manner says
“No actually its yours.” They attack and I start fighting, none of them are terribly smart. I try to keep an eye on Thyme to step in if she needs it. I notice Spike keeping an eye on her as well. She does okay, her technique is lousy but she seems to have quick reflexes and she is definitely the strongest person here. How is it that she’s so strong? I stab another one and notice that she is having trouble killing her vampires. She really doesn’t have any idea about us. I stake another two and the five left run for it. Spike goes to chase them but I catch his eye and look pointedly at Thyme. He nods and stops. I turn to face her while he quietly sneaks around behind her just in case. She turns to face me still showing her true face. “Cut the small talk, I want to fight.” She hasn’t been a vampire for long so the feeling of strength and power hasn’t lost its edge yet. Most new vampires want to fight anyone who’s around. That’s why its such a good time to slay them.
“Thyme I don’t want to hurt you. I can help you.”
“Yeah well I don’t want help but hurting you might be fun.”
“Okay then.” That’s Spikes signal, before she knows what’s happening he’s got her round the neck and is choking her. Sure she’s a vampire so choking shouldn’t be an option but it works. We always used it on Drusilla when her visions got so bad she’d scratch herself til you could see right through her. Thyme folds into Spikes arms unconscious.
“You got her?” He nods as he lifts her up and carries her. How many unconscious girls has he done that to over the years? I hope we don’t run into any cops on the way back, explaining might be a little hard. We trudge back in silence. I start thinking about what Spike said ages ago after the Dana incident. This girl is obviously a victim, there is no doubt about that, but when does she become the monster? For the kids of the policeman she killed she is the monster. She’s the reason why their daddies won’t be at their birthday, their graduation or their wedding. It seems many victims of vampires, those who were changed by vampires become the very thing they feared in the dark. So who is the real monster is it Spike who’s slaughtered so many, specially children, he always had a thing for children or is Drusilla the monster because if she hadn’t changed Spike all those he killed on top of the young girls she particularly liked would still be alive. Or am I the real monster because I changed a sweet pure young woman into the monster that is Drusilla? Or is it Darla? Or the Master? Before I know it we are walking into the hotel. Thyme is still unconscious, thank goodness. Oz, Gunn, Robin, Andrew and Willow are researching in the lobby. Gunn of course is laying on the sofa and there are books and a couple of laptops strewn across the floor. They look up as we enter.
“Oh my gosh, who’s that?” asks Willow rushing towards us.
“She calls herself Thyme. She’s the vampire we were after. Spike take her down into the basement. Do you still have those chains behind the front desk? I don’t want to put her in the cage, there is no way she’d learn to trust us then.”
“What? And she’ll trust us when we chain her up?”
“We can’t have her lose while she thinks she’s hallucinating so she can eat whoever she wants,” I retort to Spike.
“Um excuse me. Do you want to fill us in why we should care how safe she feels and why you haven’t staked her yet?” Willow asks.
“She has a soul,” Spike answers simply. I watch him walk towards the basement and all I can think of is sliding into him. No this is more important than having sex with Spike. I turn to find those chains oblivious to the others cries of astonishment. I finally find the chains but Willow steps in front of me halfway there. As she does the others who were patrolling walk in together
“Look I need to chain her up before she regains consciousness and then we can talk.” I walk into the basement and Spike’s found a bean bag to put her in front of the cage so that we can use those bars to hold the chains. I hand him one end and thread the other through and put her arm in it.
“Wish I’d known we had these we could have used them this morning.” I love him when he’s in this mood. Hopefully people stop interrupting us and we can use them.
“I’m sure we will have plenty of time to use them.” I then move up close to him and whisper in his ear, “You’d like to have me naked and in chains, hard and throbbing, needing you, wouldn’t you?” I grab him through his pants and lick his neck, “I’d sure like you that way.” I then let go and walk away. Spike still likes a little monster in his man. I calm myself down before I climb up the stairs and after a moment Spike follows.
“Now will you please fill us in. How do you know she has a soul?” Willow asks.
“Spike bit her,” I answer simply.
“What?” asks Kennedy.
“Hey, its an instinct thing. I’m holding a wriggling girl, who’s long neck is in my face, what do you think I’m gonna do. Anyway if I hadn’t she’d fit in an ash tray by now.” Even the way he speaks is insolent.
“But why would a vampire give her a soul and how? I mean I thought Willow had the monopoly on that,” Gunn adds.
“Good question and I have no idea. What did you find out about her?” I ask.
“Not much,” answers Andrew, “She grew up in Australia moved out of home in her early teens fell in with the wrong crowd but then a couple of years ago she turned it all around. She was doing really well but then something happened..”
“What?”
“We’re not sure,” Robin replies, “but she suddenly flew over here out of the blue. And it seems that she might have fallen in with her old buddies because the Australian government wants to question her in relation to a bank robbery. We think that’s how she paid for the plane ticket because she was a broke College student.”
“What was so important over here?”
“We don’t know,” answers Oz, “Maybe she does?”
“Not at the moment, she’s too traumatized by whatever it is she’s gone through,” I reply.
“What Angel here is trying to say is that she’s crazy. She thinks we are all figments of her bloody imagination, that’s why she’s been killing without guilt.” Spike always puts things so eloquently.
“Anyway she’s badly messed up but until its daylight and we are all around I’m not going to risk undoing those chains. Until then I think it would be best if someone is with her at all times. I suggest two hour shifts, I’ll take the first.” Yes I know another two hours before I can make Spike squirm and moan but this girl is getting to me. She’s the type of thing Angelus would be proud of.
“I’ll take the second shift,” Spike volunteers. Shit four hours before his mouth turns my body into jelly. He probably volunteered for the same reason as me.
“I’ll take third shift,” volunteers Faith.
“And I’ll do fourth,” Oz also volunteers.
“Okay we will work the rest out later. Anyway she still has a million cuts and bruises that haven’t healed, someone should take a look at them preferably one of you females,” I add indicating Willow, Faith and Kennedy.
“I’ll do it,” Kennedy volunteers.
“Look Angel I’ve prepared a spell that will locate an unknown slayer in Los Angeles. You don’t mind if we do it now,” Willow asks.
‘No its fine just be careful outside some Wolfram and Hart supporters attacked us just before,’ I answer.
