CH11
Xander smiled in understanding at Spike and turned to the young man who had attacked him.
“Kyle we need the Bot to have the Buffy personality installed and running by tomorrow lunch time at the latest. Willow will be bringing it over later. I need you to prep the Bot for the install.”
“Do you want me to wipe the original personality or set it as back up?”
“Set it as backup we may need it later. Will Anna be joining us later?”
“Yes Alpha she’s bringing the van.”
“Good when she gets here I want her to install the new hardware, the box is on the work station in my room upstairs.”
Xander and Spike went back to the house to wait for the others.
Once they got to the house Xander and Spike sat down in the lounge.
“Ok look can you wait until the Willow and Tara get here before I explain the plan, I really only want to do so once?”
Spike realized that Xander was right it would be best if he only told it once besides there were other things Spike wanted to talk to Xander about.
“Fine pet but maybe we could finish last nights conversation whilst we wait?”
“Um…I think I covered almost everything last night.” Xander scratched his head in confusion.
“I’ve got questions and you said last night I didn’t get a chance to ask all of them so now I’m going to.”
“Of cause Spike what did you want to know?”
“One: Why didn’t you tell me sooner? Two: Who else knows? Three: Why are you telling me now? Four…”
“Whoa Spike slow down. Give me a chance to answer ok, I’m not going anywhere.”
“Sorry.”
“Ok first all the Scoobies and my pack know about my senses the Children just know that I have command abilities. Second the reason we didn’t tell you because we didn’t trust you…” Xander held you his hand to stop Spike from interrupting “and we were right not to you tried to betray us to Adam. Every time we came close to trusting you, you would pull some stunt that showed us we couldn’t. Not long before the whole Glory thing started we had a meeting without you and we all agreed that you could be trusted and needed to be told. Then the whole Glory thing started and we didn’t dare risk talking about it in case she found out. You see the Children were our secret weapon whilst we were fighting Glory they were waiting in the sewers in case we needed them. It looked like we were winning Spike or I would have called them. I should have called them”
Xanders shoulders slumped and spike could smell the bone deep sorrow pouring off the boy. He was just about to pull Xander into a hug when the front door opened and Xander straightened up. Spike caught a glimpse of his face, it was completely emotionless and Spike realized that the boy had yet to grieve for Buffy and what was worse was the boy thought he was partially responsible for her death.
