Disclaimer:
I do not own Buffy, nor any of the characters from it. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
Reach out...
AN: I forgot to mention I know nothing about Tru's sister Meredith other than the fact she's older than Tru and she has a drug problem, so she's not in this.
Reviewers:
Julie: Okay okay! Don't put a hit out on me or anything! LOL
chanel no 5: Glad you like it. I lost my muse for it for a while; but she has returned and hopefully I'll be able to finish this!
Rayne: I take it you like bloodrayne. LOL I do too. Glad you like it. Well the reason it's rated R is because I originally posted it at fanfiction.net and you're not allowed higher ratings there. Also there are only two ratings here at aff.net, R and NC-17, so even if your story is G rated you have to rate it one of those two.
fik_chik: Thanks for reminding me about that. Her name is Meredith, and when I started this, I didn't know anything about her, so she's not in it. Thanks! I'm glad you like it.
Chapter 11. Reach out...
Faith was lying on Trus' couch trying to sleep. She was wondering if she should just go back to Cleveland.
'I'm trouble.' She thought. 'As long as I'm here, Tru and everyone else are in danger.'
Her brain argued back, 'But the baddies know you're here. Those two vamps got away and they know you're a slayer, so leaving could put them in danger too.'
She sighed and rolled over. It was a lose-lose situation. She returned to the graveyard. The demons were after the vampires. It wasn't too out of the ordinary to have rivalry between the two; but it WAS out of the ordinary that they had completely ignored her and Tru. Well not counting the first one, anyway.
She replayed the scene in her head. Something was off about the crowd of demons that had gone chasing after the vamps and she couldn't place it.
She pictured them ad they had leapt around her and Tru, mentally slowing things down.
Her eyes snapped open. They had seemed like the one she fought first; but they weren't. They were different.
She could see them vanishing after the vamps. They had shiny metal plates on thier legs and backs! The one she fought certainly had not.
She hopped up as quietly as she could and dialed Giles. Pacing back and forth, she waited for him to answer.
"Hello, this is RUpert GIles, how may I help you?"
"Giles! It's Faith, I need you to do something for me."
"Are you allright? Should I call Buffy?"
"I'm fine Giles; but I was in the cemetary earlier, and I saw these demons, I fought one of them and then a whole pack of them were chasing us; but then they went after a group of vampires instead. I thought they were the same as the one I fought; but they weren't they had metal plates on thier backs and legs."
"Well, that is rather odd isn't it? Wait, did you say us? Who did you have out with you?"
"Umm I meant me. You know, used to being out with the girls." Faith cringed at the lie; but Giles seemed to accept it.
"Allright Faith, where are you?"
"New York City." She replied.
"Want us to come down?"
"No, I was just thinking maybe you could dig up something with a spell or on the computer. I don't want you to uproot or anything."
"Okay Faith, I'll do that. I'll call you if I find anything."
"Thanks GIles."
"Allright. Bye then."
"Bye."
Faith hung her phone up and turned around to see Tru standing in the doorway.
"DId I wake you up?"
"No, I wasn't sleeping. Do your friends know anything about those things we saw tonight?"
"They're goona look."
Tru nodded. "I'm gonna go back to bed then. Try and get some sleep okay?"
"Okay. You too." Faith flopped back down on the couch and Tru disapeared back into her room.
After a few minutes Faith nodded off.
She was running in the cemetary with Tru by her side, struggling to keep up. Suddenly her sister was ripped from her grasp.
She slid to a stop and whipped around, Tru was nowhere to be seen; but Faith could hear her screams.
"Tru!!! Tru!!" Faith shrieked.
The only answer was a drawn out scream and then silence.
"You cannot save her. We need her gift. She is so special."
Faith turned around in a circle; but no one was there. "Who are you? Where the fuck is my sister?!?! I want her back NOW!!!!"
There was chuckling on the wind and then nothing. She ran through the neverending cemetary searching for a trace of her sister.
She came upon a group of people in black standing around a fresh grave. One of them looked up at her.
"This is your fault Faith. You should have stayed away. Now she's going to die and no one can help her."
Faith realized it was herself she was looking at. She sank to her knees, sobbing. "No, I'll go! Please don't let her die!!"
"Sure, run away, cause that's what you do best isn't it?" Her dream self mocked. "No, you have to stay. She has one chance. You have to stay. It's eight thirteen and seven five five."
Faith sat up straight, breathing hard. "Fucking slayer dreams."
She had been crying in her sleep and tears still ran down her cheeks. She dashed them away and looked at the VCR clock. It wad too early to call Giles or Buffy.
She sighed and lay back down, she'd try to get a little more sleep before she had to get up and face the day.
AN: I know it's been quite a while since I updated and I'm sorry. I'll try and keep updating, I have a ton of new ideas for this, so it shouldn't be too long before the next chapter.
