First Date
Chapter 10
Faiths POV
Okay so its time for my date with Wood, I pull on my leather pants and the red tank top I got from a store on the way to Angels, pull my hair back into a pony tail and put it up into a clip so the hair falls like a waterfall down the back of my head. I search through my jacket pocket and find the harlot lipstick I brought at the drugstore, loved this colour every since the incidence with the body swapping. I look in the mirror and put the harlot on my lips giving them more volume.
Wood is waiting in the lobby, he’s wearing black pants and a blue shirt with shiny black shoes.
“You look nice.” He says smiling towards me. Playing the perfect gentleman in any teenage movie you care to see.
Xander walks in and looks me up and down. “Nice pants, did you get the inside of the cow with those?” he asks smiling at me.
I roll my eyes at him.
“So you guys gonna come to Lorne’s bar when your done? We’re all going it will be fun,” he asks.
“aye aye cap'in," I say with a small sulute "who is coming?” I ask
“Everyone I think, ‘sept Buff, Dawn, Giles and Will.”
“Willow has to come!” I say a little louder than I meant to. Xander and Wood both throw me questioning looks. “She’s been a bit down lately, with B being like she is and all that. I just think it would be good for her.” I say trying to make it seem like I don’t really want her there because of me. Xander looks at me suspiciously. “Am I not allowed to be nice?” I say pulling Wood out the front door by his arm.
He gently tugs his arm back so he is in fact leading me along. Not exactly liking this turn of events. When did he get to be in control of the pace? “I don’t think I like you talking to that boy like that.” He states not looking at me.
“Excuse me?” Both anger and annoyance lace my voice. “He is NOT a boy and I’ll talk to who I want how I want.”
“Not if I have anything to do with it.” Is he being jealous? It is kinda sweet in an overly controlling way. “If we are going to be serious I think it would be better if you did not speak to him in that way.” I don’t like the way he said serious.
I roll my eyes but let it slide. I’m getting free food. Not going to spoil a good thing. Not when he’ll never get the upper hand.
So we reach the restaurant and take our reserved seat. Someone’s trying to make an impression. We take our seat and are handed the menu. Right now I’m looking to eat and run. This isn’t my scene you know. “So starters.”
“I’m thinking main meal. Stake medium rare thank you.” I say this to the waiter without having to open my menu.
“No starter?” He seams almost disappointed. I lift my eyebrows and he gets the message. He’s not getting any tonight if I don’t get what I want now. What he doesn’t know is that after that little outburst outside the hotel he’s just not getting any. “Alright then. I’ll have…” He takes a few moments to read over the dishes available. “Salmon and crayfish ravioli.” He folds the menu and hands it to the waiter.
The next fifteen minuets are spent over idle chitchat. Which I must admit I’m not very good at. Nevertheless I think I’m doing quite well for my first time. That is until the food arrives. Goes all down hill from there.
Now don’t judge me I’ve never done this before so what do I do? Elbows on the table I pick up my fork and scoop up the food without my knife. My other arm is almost guarding my other side. “Must you eat like that?”
Give me some credit I swallow before I speak. “What?”
“You’re not being very ladylike.” He states.
“Have you not noticed? I’m not a lady.” Look at this from my point of view. I was brought up in a place where you eat so there is the least amount of washing up. More to save on the water bill, than time. And I’ve been in the pen need to eat fast so you don’t get any stolen from under your nose. So I’m going to eat different. Especially in a crowded place like this.
“You couldn’t at least act like one?” he’s once again trying to superior and I don’t like it one bit.
“So your telling me just because you eat different than me your better than me?” I throw my fork down on my plate, which I wouldn’t normally do. We have established I like food. But he really has pissed me of. “That you get to chose who my friends are if any. I don’t think so.”
“Faith you’re causing a scene.” He says this as if I didn’t already know.
“You know what Robin.” The use of his actual first name snaps his attention to me. “Fuck you.” I curse loud enough for everyone in the pace to here me. “And fuck this.”
With that said I leave him looking very embarrassed at the table. I even slam the door for good measure.
