CH10
Spike rolled to his feet and took up a fighting stance only to find out it wasn’t needed. Xander had his attacker down on the ground with one hand wrapped around the mans throat and was snarling in his face.
The strange man relaxed and tilted his head back exposing his throat submissively to Xander.
Xander gave one last squeeze before standing and moving to half shield Spike form the strange man.
Spike watched as the man slowly got to his feet, the man remained staring at his feet his whole body language interacting his submissiveness.
“What the hell did you think you were doing?” Xander ground out.
The man straightened slightly but remained looking at the floor, spike could smell the shame and sorrow pouring of the man.
“I’m sorry Alpha I came in and saw a vampire with his face in your neck I thought he was feeding from you.” The man said softly “ I just reacted.”
“I’m not the one you should be apologizing to” Xander steeped away from Spike and moved over to the wall and disconnected the power for the Bot.
“Sorry for attacking you Master Spike.” The man said glancing towards him “it was unforgivable. Did I cause you injury?”
Spike blinked in shock and drew himself up to his full height it had been a long time since anyone had called him by the title that he deserved he decided to go easy on the young man.
“No harm just think first ‘ay I suppose I’m lucky you didn’t stack me.”
The mans shoulders slumped even more and Spike could smell the shame in his scent increase.
“What?” Spike demanded.
“I nearly did but then I recognized who you were and dropped it just before Alpha grabbed me.”
Spike looked down at the stake at his feet and took a step back.
“Yes well next time think before you react.” He said to cover his fear and shock “if I had been biting Xan you would have ripped his throat out by pulling me off, next time you should stake first.”
“I’m glad I didn’t this time Master Spike or we would have lost you.”
Spike blinked in shock again at that. Coughing in embarrassment he turned to xander and asked what the plan was.
(God I really need to kill something,) he thought to himself (I’m turning Peaches).
