Chapter Ten
“Don’t your parents wonder where you went on a school night?” Faith asked conversationally, as they walked up to the front of the currently the most trendy club on this side of the city. The most trendy club and the only people that got in were the rich and the famous.
“They are too busy traveling to care what I do.” Kathryn replied breezily, like it was the most normal thing in the world; and for her, it was. It had always been that way ever since she could remember, waking up in almost empty house safe for the servants, having breakfast alone in a big dining room, got back from school to find an equally empty house as when she left. She had stopped asking herself why her parents were never there, or at the very least her mother, it was a waste of her time to be questioning things like that.
Her parent’s presence in her life was non-existence.
“And yours? Won’t they be worried that their little firecracker’s out late?” Kathryn mocked the nickname that she had heard Richard Spencer called his only daughter. The nickname was affectionate, and very much Faith. It was one of the things that was different about Faith, the other girl never seemed to be bother by her attitude, the way she could insult anything in sight, instead she would gave her a grin and shrugged like it was nothing.
As if she wasn’t aware of the actual malice behind the words, the small beauty knew that she was well aware, and sometimes she could see something flicker in those brown eyes, but they weren’t any emotions that she could recognize, and sometimes it scared her.
“Oh they’ll ask alright, but then, I’m allowed.” Faith chuckled as she led Kathryn to the front of the line that seemed to go on forever by the hand. People that were in line were looking at them, half were looking at Faith, checking her out and the other half were looking at herself. They made a stunning couple and Kathryn knew it.
They both also smelled of money.
Kathryn returned her eyes to the taller brunette who seemed to be taking all the attention in stride, her grip on the smaller hand tightened slightly and she pulled her forward. They walked right up to the front of the line, the bouncer bowed slightly first at Faith then at Kathryn, gesturing for them to go inside.
They knew who she was, but she was unaware that they knew of Faith. It was, after all, her first time at this club, but she wasn’t going to ask. They entered amidst the protests from the waiting crowd outside.
Immediately they met with loud music, and large crowd, which the taller brunette had absolutely no trouble elbowing her way through it, and Kathryn found herself being pressed against her, their hands still linked, though with the people pressing into them, there was very little chance that would change. When they finally made it to the bar on the far side of the room, Faith quickly ordered herself and Kathryn a drink without asking what she wanted. No need anyway, she knew better.
After they finished their drinks, Faith pulled her into the dance floor and let themselves lost into the music, feeling the beat pulsated through their blood, and all the while, the queen of Manchester Prep had only eye on her partner tonight, as they danced close, their bodies touching. Their hands were linked and Faith held both above their heads, then trailed down to rest Kathryn’s smaller one on her shoulder. Then a song came on.
A techno mix of Closer.
And if the queen couldn’t take her eyes off of the taller brunette before, she certainly more than drawn in now, like a moth to flame, and Faith was the flame, the taller girl had her eyes close, her body moved suggestively against her in time with the aggressive beat of the music, and Kathryn wasn’t the only one on the dance floor to notice this, and not even for the tenth time this night, guys were trying to come in between them, dance with them, but they found themselves being pushed away and guarded by Faith, as she made it clear to all who looked that they were here together.
Then Faith open her eyes, and Kathryn moved even closer to her, if that was even possible, their eyes met and locked, the fire burn brightly in the dept of the dark brown eyes, she let her thigh slipped between her own, and she found herself practically rode her for the rest of the night, coming close to losing it, but her tall knight didn’t let it happen, she would pull away just when it was about to happen and stepped right back in when she knew that it was enough.
She let her eyes roamed over the petite girl in front of her, Kathryn looked good tonight, actually, the queen of Manchester Prep was nothing if not well dressed, all in black, short skirt that was ridden up high on her thigh as Faith pressed her leather clad one between those supple thighs, and she could feel the heat. It was the reaction she had expected and she wondered how long she could get away with this before the queen pushed her away, the position they were in weren’t exactly decent.
Actually from other people’s point of view, their position was probably looking down right obscene, but Faith didn’t really care.
And from the way the small body pressed against her, and how those arms pulling her closer, harder, she could tell what the small beauty wanted, and she pulled away slightly, held herself against the pull, and there, flash in the emerald green eyes were frustration.
“Bitch,” Kathryn hissed with a hint of frustration against her ear, and Faith laughed. “You’re such a fucking tease, you know that?”
“Don’t I?” Faith whispered back, nibbling at her earlobe, gripping her ass tighter. “But you like me this way, admit it, Princess.”

Sebastian looked up from the book he was reading, the cheerleaders that he had over for the evening were long gone his playtime was over and he considered just drink himself to oblivion, but decided against it. So he settled on a joint and a book. Sitting up straight, he wondered –in his muddled mind – what made him stop reading.
Then a sound of heels click against the floor reminded him. He immediately knew who it was that made the noise, the parental unit were once again, off on some trip, so there was no way that would be them, besides it would make more noise than that. His father knew nothing of being quiet.
He had spent the entire day figuring out his plan, he had already set up for his aunt to invite Faith Spencer for a brunch, and being the good nephew, he was going to drop by, to see his sweet dear aunt Helen, and played a perfect gentlemen. He knew that the normal act would never get anywhere with this new girl. It would required more effort than anyone else he knew, well, maybe except one.
He grinned slyly to himself, Faith Spencer was, well, to put it mildly, hot. She was unlike any other girl he had ever met, and she probably had more intellect in her fingernail than all of the rest of the female population of the upper east side combine. She didn’t seem to care of the cliques, or the class system that was going on in Manchester Prep, more specifically, she didn’t seem to be bother by the way Kathryn strutted around with her crowd of sheep. And his very own step-sister hadn’t tried to recruit her, not that he could see.
“Speak of the devil,” he murmured to himself and stood up, checking the time on the antique clock on his desk, it was well past one in the morning. Nothing really new, Kathryn had been out at all hour before, actually they both had, but lately, he found himself hanging around the house, trying to catch her attention, with the reason even himself couldn’t fathom.
“Hello, sis.” He poked his head out the door and called.
“Shouldn’t you be in bed?” Kathryn pivoted around on her stiletto heels. “It’s way past your bed time, dear brother.” Her voice mocking; conveniently made an insult of his maturity and conveyed her annoyance in one shot.
“Oh, I was,” Sebastian replied unfazed, he exited his own room and entered her room across the hall right at her heel, “all afternoon, in fact. And seeing how you’ve been out slutting around till late, I figured we need to have some quality time, dear sis.” A smiled fixed widely on his handsome face.
Kathryn tossed her jacket over the couch and sat down on her bed; she crossed her legs and looked at him. Faith had yet again walked her up to the front door, even gave her a kiss, told her goodnight and took off. Their time at the club was exciting, not because of the club, she knew, it was her companion of the evening that made everything so exciting. At the time she didn’t even bother to think about what would happen if someone from school had seen the way they danced together, the way she practically rub herself off on the leather clad girl. What rumor it would start at school had anyone knew.
Of course those thoughts didn’t cross her mind till she was well within the house. She wanted Faith to come in and spend the night, with sex in mind, of course, the taller brunette decline, saying that could wait, and promise to make it special. They did some heavy petting, and the small beauty even got off a time or two, but she was more than just a little frustrated, it was a wonder she didn’t go out and just get herself a good time with some college boys.
A part of her said she should, and the other part… well, the other part of her, the part that she wasn’t aware of before this, shot the idea down before it even rise far enough.
“So, what brainless debutant did you have in your bed this time?” She asked in a bore tone. “Charlotte the cheerleader?”
“Half of the squad actually, but that’s not important.” He waved his hand while settling himself into the chair. His eyes roamed over the body of his step-sister. She was certainly dressed to kill, what caught his eye was the normally flawless make up on her face, the dark red paint on her lips seemed to be smeared a little, her cheeks flushed beyond the color of the blush.
“And what’s the scene I saw at school the other day? You got thrown across the hall by a girl.”
Sebastian felt a blush rise in his cheeks, immediately forgot his observations. He was hoping she didn’t see it, or not bringing it up, but then this was the ice queen, of course she would. “Couldn’t resist your charm, could she? I mean she must’ve really liked you to be throwing you around like that.” Kathryn laughed; her voice cold, filled with mocking, and malice.
“Shut up,” he hissed.
“Aw, what’s the matter ‘Bastian? Embarrassed?”
He hated when she called him that, she made him feel like he was only five year old. “I’ll let you know that I already have my plan in working this weekend.”
“Do tell, Sebastian, what could you possibly plan to do, when it’s clear that the girl dislikes you.” She snickered, with a hand to cover her wide smile.
He grinned at her. “I gave my dear old aunt Helen a call and she agreed to invite our Faith Spencer to a brunch at her house on the island to talk to her about school this Saturday. And I, the sweet nephew that I am, will show up there to show her around the place, she’s not buying my routine, then I’m going to have to convince her that I really am a sweet guy.”
“Except that you are not.”
“So, are you going to rethink that bet?”
“You don’t have anything that I want, Sebastian; will be a waste of time for me.”
“What about the car?”
“What about it?” Kathryn started to study her perfect manicure, paying less and less attention to his eager face.
“If I lose your get the car,” he said in a rush.
“And if you win?” She let the question hung in the air, knowing what his answer would be; it was more than obvious, as with his attempt to get into her pants ever since they met.
“You.”
“Dream on, Sebastian.” She laughed, her head thrown back.
Sebastian Valmont found-- not for the first time-- himself fascinated by her laughter, the way her voice filled the air, the way her body shake, the twinkle in her eyes, the white of her teeth… he was fascinated by everything that was Kathryn Merteuil, had always been. And right now he had less desire to get into the new girl’s pants than into the girl in front of him, the one untouchable.
He was going to get her to agree, and he was going to win.
“Then why don’t you come and watch my performance?”
Kathryn snorted in disgust. “I just might, dear brother.”
