Our House
Title: Our House
Pairing: Faith/Buffy. Faith/Cordelia
Summary: Faith has her hands full being the head of two house holds.
“One more time,” Cordelia straddles Faith’s lap.
Faith grins. “We can’t spend the entire day in bed.”
Cordelia pouts playfully and tilts her head. “And, why not? It‘s your birthday.”
Faith sits up and kisses Cordelia’s neck. “After breakfast will come back upstairs.”
“And, have Brighton interrupt us about a million times. I swear she has some kind of sensor that goes off every time were having sex.”
“She didn’t walk in on us this morning,” Faith cups Cordelia’s breasts.
Cordelia laughs and arches her back. She pushes her breasts against Faith‘s hands. “It’s a good thing Brighton stayed over at Buffy’s house last night because the door was unlocked, and I‘m pretty sure if she saw her mama with her dick up her mommy’s ass that would scar her for life.”
Faith laughs. “We should probably take advantage of this opportunity.”
“What happened to not spending the entire day in bed?” Cordelia asks.
“You got me all worked up, Cor,” Faith kisses Cordelia’s neck and caresses her breasts.
“I guess we should do something about that,” Cordelia lays down and pulls Faith on top of her.
Faith kisses Cordelia. “Turn over on your stomach,”
Cordelia turns over and buries the side of her face against the pillow.

“Mommy B,”
“Yes, sweetie,” Buffy replies and turns the omelet over in the pan.
“Can we wake up, mama?” Brighton asks.
“Bright, your mama and mommy want to spend some alone time together this morning.” Buffy replies.
“Why?” Brighton asks.
“Your mommy is giving her a special birthday present.” Buffy replies.
Brighton‘s face scrunches up. “What kind of special birthday present?”
“The kind that only your mommy can give her.” Buffy explains.
Brighton nods her head excepting the answer.
“Bright, why don’t you help Grace set the rest of the table for me.”
“Okay, mommy, B,” Brighton replies.
Grace hands Brighton some silver ware.
“When you’re done setting the table you can go get the birthday presents you made at your Aunt Willow‘s.”
****
Faith rolls over onto her back. She reaches out and runs her hand up and down Cordelia’s back.
“That was hot,” Cordelia turns her head to look at Faith.
“It,s always hot,” Faith grins and slides over kissing Cordelia softly on the lips. “I love you, Cor,”
“I love you too, baby,” Cordelia returns the kiss.
****
“These are very nice cards the two of you made.” Buffy smiles and hands the cards back.
Grace and Brighton place the cards next to Faith’s plate at the kitchen table.
“I painted me, you, and mama together at the park.” Grace says.
“You did a very good job and I like the colors you used.” Buffy replies.
“You think mama will hang it up in her office?” Grace asks.
Buffy kisses the top of her daughter’s head. “She loves to show off everything that two of you paint or draw, Grace, and put it up in her office.”
Grace smiles satisfied with the answer and sits down at the kitchen table with Brighton.
Buffy looks out of the kitchen window for any signs of Faith headed their way through the connected backyards that she and Cordelia share.
****
“HAPY BIRTHDAY, MAMA!” Grace and Brighton exclaim in unison.
Buffy kisses Faith. “Happy Birthday.”
Faith grins. “Thank you,” She returns the kiss and walks over to the kitchen table. “Good morning,” She kisses the top of Grace and Brighton’s head.
“Thanks for taking Brighton last night.” Cordelia says.
“No problem,” Buffy replies.
“I made you a card.” Grace points.
“Me too!” Brighton exclaims.
“You did,” Faith sits down at the table and picks up the cards.
“It’s me, mommy, and you at the park.” Grace explains.
“You did a really good job.” Faith opens up the card. “Happy Birthday, Mama.” She smiles.
“I’m going to hang these both up on the fridge today, and then take them to work with me tomorrow.” Faith says.
“And, put it up in your office?” Grace asks.
Faith stands up and hangs the card on the fridge with a magnet. “I’m going to put it in a frame and put it on the front counter for every customer that comes into the comic book store can see them both.” She sits down at the table.
“They both helped me with your birthday breakfast and she set the table this morning.” Buffy says.
“You two are making me look bad.” Faith jokes and cuts into her omelet. “This looks good,” She takes a bite. “And, it taste good.”
Grace giggles. “Mama, no talking without your mouth open.” She returns her attention to the comic section of the newspaper.
“What are you reading?” Faith asks Grace.
“Boom Boom and Squid Fish,” Grace replies not looking up from the paper. She fills her mouth we another forkful of blueberry waffle.
Faith makes a face. “Boom Boom and Squid Fish. I’m guessing that Squid Fish is a squid. Right?”
Grace shakes her head and grabs her glass of milk washing down her bit of waffle. She looks up at Faith with a serious look on her face. “Squid Fish is a cat, mama.”
“Then why do they call him Squid Fish?”
“Because that’s his name.” Grace replies and goes back to reading the comic strip.
Faith nods her head. “Oh,”
“What’s Boom Boom?” Faith ask genuinely curious.
“A mouse,”
“So, a cat and a mouse are hanging out?” Faith laughs.
“Why are you laughing?” Grace asks.
“Cats and mice can’t be friends.”
“Why can’t they be friends?” Grace asks.
“Cats eat mice.” Faith replies in a matter of fact tone.
“Nu uh!” Grace protest.
Faith nods. “Uh Huh.” The surprised look on her daughter’s face makes her laugh.
“Mommy, do cats eat mice?” Grace asks.
Buffy nods. “Sometimes,”
“Squid Fish wouldn’t eat Boom Boom because they are best friends.” Grace puts emphasis on the last word to illustrate her point.
“I don’t know about that, Grace, sometimes I wouldn’t mind having an Uncle Xander burger for lunch.” Faith jokes.
“Ew, gross!” Grace exclaims.
“How old are you, mama?” Brighton asks.
“This many,” Faith flashes her hands several times.
Brighton laughs. “How many is that?”
“Twenty-two.” Faith replies.
“Twenty - two! That’s a lot of candles for a cake.” Grace shakes her head.
Faith laughs. “Nah, that‘s not a lot,”
“How old are you, mommy B?” Brighton asks.
“Silly, I just had a birthday.” Buffy smiles.
“Oh, yeah,” Brighton smacks her forehead.
Cordelia smiles. “I’ll give you a hint. She’s older than me.”
“I’m barely six months older than you, Cordelia.” Buffy replies.
“So, how old are you?” Grace asks Buffy oblivious to the undertone of cattiness between her mother and Cordelia.
“Twenty - three,” Buffy answers.
Brighton grabs a handful of Grace’s scrambled eggs on her plate and shoves them in her mouth.
Grace grabs Brighton’s arm. “Those are my eggs!” She exclaims.
“Grace, let go of Brighton’s arm.” Buffy says.
“Mommy, she stole my eggs!” Grace whines.
“Grace, it’s not nice to grab people. Would you like it if someone grabbed you by the arm?” Buffy asks.
Grace sighs and jerks Brighton’s arm down making her hit her arm hard on the table.
“Grace, that wasn’t nice.” Buffy scolds her daughter.
“She stole my eggs!” Grace argues.
Brighton’s cries and Cordelia takes Brighton into her arms trying to quite her down.
“I want mama!” Brighton wails.
Cordelia let’s go of Brighton.
“Come on, cry baby girl,” Faith holds out her arms.
Brighton climbs into Faith’s lap and wraps her arms around her neck.
“Brighton, you know you’re not suppose to grab food off of your sister’s plate. And, your sister knows she’s not suppose to be so rough with you.” Faith looks over at Grace.
Grace looks down at her plate.
“Today is my birthday. Can the two of you be a good?” Faith asks.
Brighton nods her head. “Yes, mama,”
“Yes,” Grace replies.
“Go sit down and eat your breakfast.” Faith kisses the top of Brighton’s head and let’s her go. “I’m going to take a shower and stop by the comic book store.” She says and stands up.
“What about your omelet?” Buffy asks trying to hide her disappointment.
“I’ll put it in a tortilla wrap and eat it on the way over.” She replies.
“Could you pick up some paper plates and plastic cups while you‘re out. I forget when I went shopping yesterday for the barbeque.” Buffy says.
Faith nods. “Sure.” She walks out of the kitchen door, and runs a hand through her tousled hair letting out a sigh.
****
Xander looks up from his comic when the bell above the door rings. “Happy birthday! What are you doing here, Faith?” He asks curiously.
Faith sighs. “I had to get out of that house, Xan.”
He chuckles. “So, you decided to hide out at work?”
She walks behind the counter. “Yeah, check these out.” She hands Xander the birthday cards Grace and Brighton made for her.
Xander returns the card to Faith. “They’re talented kids.”
Faith smiles proudly. “Thanks, Grace, is a pretty good artist though.”
“Well, she takes after you in that respect.”
“Yeah, twenty - two,” She shakes her head.
“It’s weird. Yesterday we were two sixteen year olds. We dreamed about opening up a comic book store, and here we are,” He says.
“It’s funny how so much can happen in such a short amount of time.”
“Yeah, you got two kids, and two hot girls. I still can‘t understand how you were able to swing that.” Xander grins.
Faith laughs. “Neither can I.”
“Oh, come on, share your secret.” Xander teases.
“It’s not always smooth sailing, man, and it definitely wasn’t in the beginning. I thought Buffy was going to dump my ass and take Grace away from me when she found out that I had Cordelia on the side.”
“Yeah, but the three of you made it work.”
Faith nods. “We managed to make it work.”
****
The backyard barbeque was in full swing, and everyone seemed to be having a good time.
Faith stands up from the table shaking an empty beer bottle. “Time for another one.” She decides to head into the kitchen to grab another case of beer before they ran out.
Cordelia followed Faith into the kitchen taking this opportunity to get the young woman alone.
“Faith,”
“Cor,” Faith says playfully turning around before reaching the refrigerator.
“I have to tell you something,”
“Oh, man, this can’t be good. What’s going on?” Faith asks.
“It’s not bad.”
“Ok, so, what do you have to tell me?”
“LeHane number three is on it‘s way.” Cordelia replies.
Faith’s mouth drops open. “You’re,”
“Yeah,” Cordelia nods.
“Pregnant. You’re pregnant.”
“I’m pregnant.”
Faith pulls her into a hug. “Why didn’t you tell me earlier?”
“I wasn’t sure, but I got a call from the Dr. this afternoon confirming it.”
Faith kisses Cordelia hard on the mouth. “I love you.” She runs a hand over Cordelia’s stomach. “Another one of us.” She smiles with tears in her eyes.
“Another one of us.” Cordelia kisses her tenderly.
