Actually, quite a promising start here. Watch your use (or lack of now and then) of capitals in dialog.
Also...an authors note within a story is a big no. You killed the mood and the set up you had worked to achieve. If you're unsure of something, do a little research. It takes two mins to Google something. Or, if you can't be bothered to look something up, use a different word, or discription :)
Seriously, never put an authors note in the middle of a story. You're trying to pull the reader into your own personal world with your writing, so don't destroy that world with a silly a/n :)
A little bit of a summary would be great too. Intrigue is cool...but readers like to know a little of what they're getting into sometimes. Keep it up though, as I said...your writing shows promise.

I think this ia a great concept. Plus the possiblity of Abby and Faith would be so hot together.
