Spike did not say what he said. How in the world is he going to play that off. And how in the world is Buffy going to react. If she pretends to accept his explantion then he will know that something is up, but if she doesn't then she won't get to have the "revenge" that she wants. Update soon I have to find out what happens.

wow great update. i love this fic, and how xander stood up to william. and damn that last chapter was hot. i forget now if anal was one of the warning, as that was a popular way to keep there soon to be wifes virgins.

I've just read through all 18 chapters to get up to date on this. It's a very clever, erotic, jaunt through 18th century society. I like the way there's an openness among the male gentry where mistresses are concerned. I like that Buffy has cottoned on to Spike's intentions early on. I hope that she doesn't lose her resolve as she gets drawn deeper into her sexual relationship though - even if Spike and Dru do indeed break up... Buffy deserves to turn the thumbscrews on the rake and cad fo long enough that his balls turn blue and his heart aches for Buffy NOT Dru. I wouldn't mind Dru catching a case of the pox too...

Considering you have no beta for this fic, you're doing real well. I skimmed too fast to truly proof the chapters, but any spelling, gramatical errors etc. are few. Bravo, pet.
