Compelling story.
The thing that stands out to me is your description of Riley. Was that big of a pain in the ass in the TV series that you made him into an abusive cave man? I don't recognize him in the character you created here. In order for me to get through the storyline, I have had to make his name Larry so i don't feel like he is the biggest jack ass ever.
Having said that, I have never felt quite like this with the description of a guy's body or ability to make love. I have been reading and thinking about men sexually. It feels like Spike is a piece of meat. I guess he might be, but I feel bad for him. Is he smart? Is he good at his job? Does he have any qualities other than being a damn good lover for Buff?
When I read the contrast between Spike and Riley---Riley can't get it up and Spike is Mr. Big Stuff---I could not help thinking, do I judge their worth by their stallion status?
Anyway, I just found the gender stigmatism on the other foot and found myself shocked to be defending a male's value beyond the bedroom.
