I for one thought this chapter was great and that this story is promising to be just as great as it's prequel.
Reading Ain't No Sunshine should automatically tell everyone that the author has some GREAT plot points that will be worked out. So no, it's not just a simple movie twist or something equally as lame.
And hey, anonymous -- if you want your critique to actually hold some weight -- then don't be anonymous.

One of my main complaints with movie sequels is that they feel the need to have broken up their main couple a long while ago and put them with new people not really ever giving a proper and logical explanation for two people who it seemed would never in their life separate to break up.
This being said, I certainly hope there are believable reasons other than "...it's just more fun to see them get together / back together" for this turn of events in your story. Yeah they both had changes to make, long distance relationship, yadda yada yadda...who cares. One of my least favorite pairings is Spike and Fred in any form. Fred is in no way Buffy's equal and could not possibly replace Buffy for even two seconds. In this story Spike must be very unfulfilled in his current incarnation. I can't imagine him being happy with anyone else after having Buffy and losing her. Long distance relationship my ass, chase her to Seattle lazy bum Spike. And for him to be with Fred, a girl that Buffy was already jealous of... I loved the previous story, but I don't know if I can take this. Yeah yeah I understand as a writer you can do whatever you want with them Joss...I mean MrsMuir.
Alright I've ranted and admit you probably have me to torture still with this. *sigh*

Thanks for continuing this amazing story. The sequel is already exciting and the plot is engaging. Spike and Fred engaged? I hope you pepper this with back story so we see how he and Buffy have drifted so far apart. I'm looking forward to how you resolve the car chase and Cassie's predicamant, too.

ENGAGED TO FRED...ALL COME ON...NO...Damn it, WHY, WHY WHY....TWO YEARS. Okay now that I got that out of my system I'm definitely looking forward to these updates. Not to crazy about Buffy getting mixed up in something bad after what she's been through but I know she needs to get back into Spike's life somehow. Now I can only hope they will be together and if so, I will feel a little sad for Fred but not for long because I want my Spuffy...lol

Interesting start, but I don?t like the randomness of the break-up. And also, engaged to Fred? Why? I thought, he loved Buffy? This is kind of sudden. Explain more. I don?t know, if it was wise to let them connect over the next case of abuse. Anyway, this set-up is very problematic, you?ve got your work cut out. I?m intrigued, but also a bit upset over the non-existence of a relationship between Buffy and Spike. It kind of destroys parts of your earlier work, makes it seem dishonest. Or I?m just not getting your point, so I guess, you?ve got to write more....
