This has been a fantastic story so far and kept me checking back for new chapters. But I have to ask... Is this the end?! *sniffle* Some hint of Xan and Spike meeting again in an afterlife would be nice? What can I say? I'm a sucker for a romantic ending.

Just wanted to let you know how much I am enjoying this story. The introduction of Esther will hopefully help Spike begin the healing process and I can't wait to meet the child that is named after his beloved Xan. Thank you for sharing your talent with words!

Oh my, this is such a wonderful, uplifting, yet so sad story. I adore it and look forward to the next chapter eagerly. The interaction between Spike and the children in this chapter....so wonderful, yet so sad, especially at the end. Love how his 'children' are still looking after Spike, even without him realising it. He and Xander have raised some wonderful people. You almost forget that they are all slaves, in a world ruled by demons. Yet your subtle hints to the way things really are are put in 'just right' without interrupting the flow of the story in a jarring way. Please keep writing! Love ya
