I am so happy to see Lorne and Kylar getting closer. It was a pleasant surprise to see Sebastian turning up in it but I enjoyed his presence as well. Sebastian introduces the outsider's perspective and viewpoint, which dovetails with what Cordelia has been telling Lorne and forces Lorne to consider that Kylar might very well pick someone else to vent his sexual frustrations on (heck, Lorne did it) if Krevlorne doesn't get hopping and snag the boy for himself.
The interactions among all four males were very in character and thrilling to read. You definitely have a gift for dialogue as well as action, character portrayal and scenery painting. (I haven't seen "The Phantom of the Opera" live but now I want to if only because of your description.) Thank you for this chapter.
You make Kylar sound so beautiful with his green skin, mulberry hair and ruby eyes. It cries out for an illustrator! Have you thought about contacting somone on deviantart.com to make a visual realization of him?
As for that ending...ho boy. I had suppoed from the beginning that getting caught would be part of this scenario. I just hope it's not who I think it is.
Who's David Beckham? Just kidding. I know who he is, in a vague kind of way. That man has way too many tattoos for my liking. Yech.
I'm so glad that Lorne and Kylar have sorted out their problems (mostly). I'm also pleased that Kylar isn't a virgin. I've seen the Untried Virgin trope in way too many romance novels to care for it and it's good that it's dispensed with here. It means that Kylar knows something of the process and won't be too startled. It doesn't put him on an even footing with Lorne but at least he's not going to be too awkward about the physicality of the deed.
Well, shoot! I did not see that coming. And now it seems that I won't be seeing Kylar and Lorne coming either, at least not yet.
Since I haven't stated this before now, I had never seen Lorne as a sexually attractive being on the show. The series spent a lot of time on the sexual shenanigans of the other characters but Lorne was left sadly lacking. So now that he's about to get laid with his petit chou, I am seriously annoyed!
Let's just see how Kylar does against two Drokkens.
I appreciate heroism in a story although it's not entirely why I read them. Angel is supposedly a champion but when he was on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, most of the episodes revolved around her and the various issues, problems and challenges she faced dealing with being a slayer and trying to be an ordinary girls with friends, family, companions and a love life. Her story wasn't about being a mere champion. It was about her trying to be a well-rounded human being, something she firmly pointed out to the First Slayer who growled that the slayer must have no friends but always be alone.
I get your attempts to round out Lorne's story but heroism isn't necessary. Indeed, your focus on him and the rest of the boys running off to save Kylar while leaving behind Cordelia and Fred points out a dramatic flaw in your story. It states that only guys can be champions, as if Angel's agency is now some kind of Boys Only club.
Cordelia survived being a slave in Pylea and cut off the head of a Pylean priest. She then took a book of prophecies from Pylea and cowed another Pylean who tried to keep it from her. Fred survived for five years in that wretched place even though she's a mere human being and had fewer survival skills than Kylar. She didn't have demonic strength, super-sensory powers or the ability to communicate with animals. But she managed to stay alive--at least until she was caught.
Pylea may be tough on human women. But human women can be tough, too. Just ask Buffy, Cordelia and Fred.
I was expecting butt-kicking from Lorne. But of course that's not his style. He managed to get Kylar away with cunning and song, proving he's just as much a champion as anybody. Way to go, Lorne!
Hooray! A happy ending (well, two happy endings technically, heh). I truly enjoyed reading the erotikylar and Lorne-porn (I've been waiting a while to use those puns). This was a terrific bit of fanfic. If I ever get anybody asking for demonic sexual hijinks, I will be sure to recommend it. Thank you so much.
You have such a marvelous way of spinning a story. Kylar is an engaging new character in this fictional world; I can see why everybody likes him so much. In fact, he's starting to seem just a bit like a Mary Sue. He's beautiful, smart, intelligent, willing to learn from and listen to everyone, eager and sweet natured. Don't get me wrong. I like him too. But too much more of this and it's going to seem just a teensy bit treacly for my taste.
However, the tension, fear and angst Lorne is experiencing provide a fine bit of tension and conflict. I like that Lorne is envious of Kylar's adoration of Angel; we saw a little bit of that when Angel and Lorne went to Pylea with the rest of the Fang Gang. The Pyleans, normally contemptuous of humans, were wild about Angel and Angel just ate up the attention. Lorne sat forlorn (heh) in a corner, alone and unwanted, while Angel swanned around in his fur cape and re-enacted his killing of the Drokken. It was a scene that encapsulated Lorne's outcast status among his own people and his own misery about it.
Your story reminds us about it and also cements the connection between Lorne and Kylar. They have a lot more in common than a shared species and homeland. It takes more than that to unite people in a romantic bond and I'm hoping to see that in future chapters.
Oooh, cliffhanger! Sexual cliffhanger! Do we choose the lady or the tiger? Decisions, decisions.
One of the things I dislike in a lot of modern romances I read is the Untouched Virgin. She's been saving herself (like she's money in a bank) for that very special someone and he turns out to be the only one to light her fire, to make her feel love, to show her just how pleasurable the human body can be, etc., etc. It's such hokey nonsense, even if it can be really hot when it's written properly.
So Lorne denying himself simply even though he's too nervous to make the first move on Kylar comes off as being doubly ridiculous. Then again, it would show the depth of his commitment to Kylar. But they're technically not even romantically paired at this point and the Ho'Kio twins are just a little too pushy at this point for me. This aggressive screams awfully of attempted rape and it's making me a tad queasy.
No, after due consideration, I think Lorne should tell these horny Ho'Kio to get out of his dressing room and go home to Kylar.
Any fond feelings he may have developed towards them vanished when they opened their treacherous mouths and blabbed.
Yes, no one likes chatty sex partners who babble about their love life when they haven't been given permission. I'd like them for giving Lorne release but I could watch them getting their asses kicked by a few members of Angel's team right now.
