I absolutely love this story. I read it a while ago and I'm getting ready to re read it. I have a buffy fanfic site http://www.freewebs.com/butterflygurl/ and I was just wondering if I could have your permission to archive it there. Please let me know and thanks for writing this story!

I think you're misinterpreting the story Priscilla. The rape and battery scenes between Buffy and Angelus are sick and twisted and are not in any way meant to be seen as love. Angelus acted out of anger and hatred and that's where his violence came from. I think that is pretty clear to anyone actually taking the time to read the entire story. He is consumed with his anger and he knows nothing else other than controlling everyone around him. Eventually, as he discovers his deeper feelings for Buffy he tries to change but he can't because he is incapable of loving in a healthy way. Buffy is conflicted simply because she is sympathetic to him because of his past, in addition to the fact that she is using what he wants from her as a way to escape. Buffy however, never returns his feelings but she treads a fine line and is riddled with guilt for participating in his sexual encounters. There is no love between them and the story never once sends that message.
The story is charactererized as a romance because initially that's what it was going to be, a Spuffy fic, but then as it evolved I changed my mind and didn't introduce a Spuffy romance but I kept the characterization because in the end Angelus had an epiphany, that if he truly cared for Buffy or loved her as he felt he did, then he had to release her and let her be with her family. That, is where Angelus was no longer selfish, no longer cruel and full of anger and hatred. It was only in releasing her could he dare to claim to have sincere feelings for Buffy, not in the sex he forced on her. In fact, the manner in which the story ends shows that.
Anyway, I certainly don't expect everyone to enjoy or even appreciate this fic. I wrote this during a very difficult time in my own life and this was a very cathartic experience for me. I know the scenes are dark and very graphic but they are also marked and labeled. In fact, the entire story has a warning at the beginning. So, I can only say to people who are extremely sensitive to this type of material, please pay attention to the warnings. If you don't think you can handle the content, then bear in mind that no one is forcing you to read it. It's one thing to not paticulary like a story but to be made physically ill by it, why put yourself through that torment? You can simply click on another story and move on - no need to have upset stomachs or be upset in any other way. Remember, this is fanfic - it's supposed to be recreational and fun or at least helpful in some way. If it's not, move on.

Thanks to all who've reviewed, your opinions are very important to me. Sorry I didn't get back to you earlier but I've been away for a while since I updated this fic. I am working on a sequel although it will be some time before I start posting. I don't want to start until I have the story pretty much completed. However, I can give you a few details based on what I've got so far. It's set nearly 5 years after Bad Angel and will be Spuffy, Buffy of course has a son, and most of the original characters will also be in the sequel but only as needed. Angel will make an appearance. That's all I can give away.
I will make sure to break up the paragraphs to help with the reading. I never realized how difficult it was to read Bad Angel because it's in a Word file and I just copy and paste and sometimes my formatting gets lost. Also, I get so busy writing I forget to break it up visually. I will mention that to my betaa so they will be sure to remind me. Thanks.

As a rape survivor myself this is one o fthe sickest and nastiest stories I have ever come across in fanfiction i am utterly applied to have you characterize this to be a romance I can't someone would characterize rape, kidnapping and beatings as love I think not. This stoyr is disgusting so much it made my stomach churn just thinking about what you wrote is sick.

Fantastic story! It ended perfectly, and could stand there. But a sequel would be a good thing too. :-) I do wish the paragraphs were more broken up as that does make it harder to read in that format, but that's a small quibble compared to the goodness of the story itself. I especially liked that you didn't take the easy typical Buffy gets raped but falls in love with her attacker storyline that is the usual in these types of stories. She was just conflicted enough to make it interesting. I also loved Lindsey's role in this. Just too perfect.
