Yay, an update!
I've been enjoying this fic since I think it's a charming and realistic buildup of their relationship. I also think the reactions of the Scoobies so far are on the mark. Excellent! I can't wait to see where you're going with this fic but continue what you're doing!

I don't like how mean Spike was to Xander when all the poor guy was trying to do was warn Buffy that her life was in danger. Made Spike look like a real asshat.

k, don't want to start a war here but I think Spike's attitude to Xander was hilarious.
Spike always takes the piss out of Xander, so to my mind it was great characterisation (eg when Spike was in Xanders basement in Season4 they were always at each other and Spike always sneers at him.)
Keep it up - thats exactly how I would have seen Spike react to Xander - he never did like him.
